  1. I have been walking my 11 week old puppy for one week....though by walking her, I guess I mean taking on lead out to the front garden and gradually progressing each day to 2 houses away then four houses away...Now we do 20 minutes (1000 human steps) each evening. In the morning, I usually have some activity planned...going in the car to visit someone..or have coffee down at the shops at an outdoor cafe...something to assist in her socialisation. She (Cocker Spaniel cross) is getting on quite well on the lead...she seems to get in the zone really quickly and trot along till distracted...LOL
  2. What a lovely picture Bilbo Baggins
  3. Would runny poos be a sign that they need doing?...(I have honestly never heard of such things :D )
  4. NOOOOOOOOOOOoooooooooooooooooo None told me I would have to do this when I got myself a puppy
  5. I will try a spray bottle now...thanks Marcos...(I am sort of at my wit's end)
  6. I have tried all these things Casablanca (I have a 10 week old Cocker Spaniel cross)...by the time the (tme out) happens it is 10 minutes after the event.....get inside...wipe the feet.....undo the lead......put in "isolation" area...by this time, she just whimpers as though I have tortured her. :p Mine also bites my trousers and toes while I am walking....turning away from her just makes it into a game it seems. When I yelp at the biting...she barks and frolicks and seems to think THAT is a game also. I must be doing something terribly wrong :p
  7. I buy cheaper cuts human grade meat and mince it myself with an electric mincer.
  8. OMG....I get my puppy this Friday ....should I start with the crate training straight away? If it is ok to ask that in here
  9. I am thinking of using "whizzer"....for that very reason ....I don't want it to be a word I use a lot...and I talk a lot too ;)
  10. Personally I just use 'quick, quick' for both - but because I know Zig's routine pretty well now, if he hasn't done poos in the morning (especially if it's cold and wet outside ) then I'll just send him away from the back door again telling him "and the rest!"......and he'll dutifully go and poo like a good boy ;) Thank you, The Spotted Devil I am hoping to get one of these Dog door inserts to help after the first 6 weeks of intense supervision and training. http://www.patiolink.com.au/index.HTML .
  11. May I ask?....Do you have to have a separate word for weee and another word for pooos?

  19. Ahhh so a hard crate is right for the car...I have a pet carrier that I use to take my cat to the vet....could I use that?
  20. By a "crate" do you mean the hard wire sort or the soft canvas sort? With the hard sort, wouldn't it scratch your seat covers? (I am new to this)
