  1. I am having problems with my 6yr old Gypsy. She is a German Shepherd X Lab X Kelpie if that helps. Lately she has become OBSESSED with the back fence. I know that there is a dog on the other side because I can hear it barking and yelping. I guess Gypsy wants to play, or maybe fight with this other dog, I do not know the people over the back fence and so I don't think I can really arrange for the dogs to meet, especially since Gypsy can be a bit dog aggressive at times and I don't know what the other dog is like. The thing is she doesnt really bark at the other dog, and she has only done a little digging at the base of the fence. What she does do is pace up and down the length of the fence, that makes the other dog crazy and it barks at her. She will also stand or lay in the very corner and then just stare at the fence/ground. She will do that for hours and hours, it doesn't seem to aggrevate the other dog, but I'm worried that she is obessed by the fence and its not good for her health. We have recenly gotten a pup and this behaviour has only really started when we got the pup. At first he wasn't really interested in the fence, but now he's also laying and sitting in the garden and digging a bit at the fence, he is not as bad as Gypsy and might only be there because she is, not because he's interested in the fence and dog behind it. I have tried one of those sprays that is supposed to discourage animals away from things called "Stop" they guy at the Petstock told me he had used it on his dogs and it worked. It hasn't worked for me at all, Jedi the pup doesn't like it but Gypsy doesn't care about it at all. I have tried growling at her whenever I see her at the fence but she doesn't seem to care about that. We have tried yelling and calling her away, she will come but as soon as she thinks you are not looking anymore she goes right back. We have also tried calling her and then praising her for comming, but the same thing, she will come but then she goes right back. Although I am home druring the day, the dogs live mostly in the back yard and only come in for short periods of time, and I can't watch them constantly. They have some dog toys, balls and chew/tug toys and we play with them most evenings. Gypsy loves a good game of fetch. We also walk them so I don't think they are overly bored. Does anyone have any suggetions to help me keep the dog from the fence? She is driving me crazy, also when she sets the other dog barkings its really annoying because it has a very high bitched yelping bark and its owners don't seem to care that thier dog is going mental in the back yard for hours.
