  1. Glad to hear things are slowly improving. Keep up the training and the vigilance, and give them each separate attention and training. Just try to make time where YOU are the most fun plaything for Indie. Di
  2. I am Margaret Clerk- pleased to meet you all :D Di
  3. Steph, your boy looks exhausted but so content, thanks for sharing Di
  4. Jack- I hope you can get a definitive answer why Koda is doing this, it can be concerning when we are not sure if it is normal or not. Lisa- Glad to hear you have your "cuddle Bunny" back Lisa, I know how much you enjoy that.Yes, the hopeless feeling when the water spray bottle turns into a fun game... argh.
  5. That is one of the cutest video's I have seen. The love between the owner and puppy is palpable. Di
  6. Nice run. Agility is something my hubby loved to do, and hopes to do again when he has more time and when (if) we end up with a puppy who grows to enjoy it as much as our Jack Russell did. Thanks for sharing the video, and I wish you many more of the same caliber. Di
  7. Washing fluffy dogs in winter in Armidale is no fun at all. Kira takes hours to dry, and hates being wet, so mostly no baths in winter here, just wiping with a wet cloth and lots of brushing- Kira likes winter for that reason.... No water. Good luck with cleaning yucky puppies people. :D Di
  8. Ness, my heart is aching for you, your fmaily and Kenzie. I keep coming back hoping for good news, but end up so sad for you all.Thoughts are with you. Di
  9. It really looks like they are having a ball. Happy dogs always make me smile. Thanks for sharing these. Di
  10. Absolutely beautiful. Very emotive photo's and the B&W treatment works really well. With such photogenic "models" at hand, I am sure you are spoilt for photo opportunities. ...but how could you watch Lassie over and over again, I would be an emotional mess if I did that :D Di
  11. Isn't it one of the miracles of the world that two such animals can love each other so much? Lovely photo's, thanks for sharing Di
  12. Nice work, and if you put yourself in a position to maybe get your dream shot, it will present itself eventually. Di
  13. We have no problems with our dogs, they love their food, and look forward to it, but it comes from us, so we dictate how much they get. However, we also have the "nephew" dog regularly, and he is overweight and a tiny boy as well, so each gram counts. We ignore the pleading eyes, and give tiny treats. My nephew or sisterin law collect him, comment how good he looks, and then dole out the huge treats, lolloes, chips, etc, because "how can you say no?" Well for his health they need to. They didn't take it well when our vet told them to get the weight off him or they will have huge problems. They took it very personally, and sis in law sighed and said- "well the family are all fat, we will just be fat together" Sigh, and yes, my tongue gets bitten regularly.....all I can do is encourage them and remind them of the dire explicit warning the vet gave, but he is mainly with my nephew now, who is listening to my advice.... yay. Di
  14. What a lovely looking girl, and it sounds like a slow and steady approach, which will be good for all concerned. Di
  15. Yay, a Tank fix. He is getting so big now, and looks like he is really enjoying his outings. - Good luck as you work on your recall, it is arguably the most important thing you can teach your dog. Sadly it is one thing Tip was never good at- he had it down pat when he wanted to, but in the face of any distraction, well- that was always pot luck. So the only time he was off leash was on our 5 acres, otherwise he was on lead or on a long leash if safe enough- which meant Wayne could catch him. It was sad for us, and for him, but it kept him safe, and he didn't mind, so long as he was out. However, we did have collar or leash malfunctions over the years, lucky Wayne is quick, and even luckier there weren't too many distractions at the time. Good luck and thanks for sharing photo's of your boy with us. Di Di
  16. Oh no, I think you will need to wear a gas mask for a few days  Seriously, I know you will be watching them carefully, and I am sure they will end up okay, but it is scary, and annoying, when this sort of thing happens. I am guessing you will find the avocado seed will have been stashed somewhere safe from us humans who love to steal their treasures.... Good luck and I hope to hear good news soon. Di
  17. Congratulations on your new family member Boxbright. She is gorgeous, and obviously was meant to be part of your family. I look forward to seeing many more pics as your (daughter's) puppy grows. She will be great practice for when you get to choose your own puppy. Di
  18. Zereuloch, our Jack Russell would "back-chat" too, particularly when we went crook on him, and it would end up a battle of wills. If we hadn't found great trainers who believed in food rewards, I really feel he would never have learned polite manners. His determination meant he would never have responded to anything but positive training methods. He respected food, and respected that he would never get rewarded if he "back-chatted" So we were able to extinguish this behaviour, but it took a while, and sometimes during his 10 years, he would have a half hearted attempt. Food rewards worked for us with Tip, I am not saying other methods would not work with other dogs. Di
  19. Tamworth City pound were on the Local news on Friday saying that from the 11th July July they would be charging a surrender fee.I am not sure of the charges but either $50 or $70 for PTS, and around $130 for ATTEMPT at rehome if deemed suitable... Sorry I was so upset that I didn't write down the exact costs, I was waiting to ceck their website, but nothing on there yet, just a notice on their Facebook page. This is so saddening and sickening.
  20. Exactly the reason that we don't feel as though we could foster, Hugs to you and your hubby, and congratulations on Terah finding her family.
  21. What a beautiful dog Emma was. She really deserved the pretty tag. Time really does not do very much in terms of missing them, whether it is one week, one year, two or as in one Doler's recent case, 25 years. They are forever in our hearts. Di
  22. Love it, and I am sure my guys have had many of those type of thoughts over the years. Thanks for sharing
  23. Mac is certainly very handsome, welcome aboard to both of you Di
  24. Envy's ears are lovely, but I really love her confused ear look. Nova sounds like he is learning really quickly, obviously a combination of the right dog and an owner who knows what they are doing, yet always learning more. What an awsome team you will both make in the future. Dory, momento's are special, even though they sometimes sadden us, they also bring back beautiful memories. Steph, I think "birdurder" should be a legitimate reason for a day off work :D , after all, I am sure everyone is traumatised. Tip was a murderer when he had the chance, but the pigeons insist on choosing the ONE tree in his back yard to nest and roost, so they must have also liked the protection he offered! I always felt so terrible though. Di
  25. Very nice photo's, and very nice dogs as well. Di
