  1. Tracey, She is looking great for such a young pup. Excellent that you can get conformation and working ability all in 1 package You must be thrilled. Yes i am very pleased with her she show great Promise conformation Wise, Looks like she has a ton of herding ability but i guess still too young to assess it properly but the best thing is her exemptional Temperament takes everything in her stride and bounces back straight away. I did choose Darcy because i felt he had the best Natural gathering ability I had seen on any Show line dogs i had seen work and I also loved his temperament Tracey
  2. t-time I show maine Coons who get very very greasy coats I wet the cat down then cover it with the Lightening Hand degreaser then rinse works a treat . you could do just a small area Tracey
  3. Took Pearl (Fidelis Black Pearl) down to Uralla for her 1st pass in HIC. She got out at home in the lamb paddock and while I was trying to catch her she kept going to the head. This was my show litter from pure show lines so wasn't expecting much and at that stage hadn't really done any formal training. But seeing what she was doing in the lamb paddock decided to give her a proper lesson to see what she could do. She blew me away she has style, abit of Eye and so much drive still to young to see if she can take the pressure but definitely a keeper as i was thinking of letting her go as i really don't care for showing anymore and it seemed a waste to keep a really nice show pup and not show her but looks like she is staying and when she is competive in the show ring will take her out and show her.. Robyn videoed her for me not to bad from pure show lines and only just 6 mths old her parents are Aust Ch Gremaric Master Stroke HSAs Aust Ch Fidelis Moonlighting HXAds HIBsd Tracey

  6. thats the main problems with the small breeds they are so fast and the really keen ones make up for their size in attitude. Jonty sure has alot of attitutde looking forward to getting him to slow down and really start working which I know he can do Hey Robyn can you put Pearls up for me but lighten it up heaps more Tracey
  7. Dagboy you undermestiate yourself and Ebony both have worked hard and the results are starting to show. Just got to keep up the good work and aim for the stars. PT Will be easy after 7 months of hard work eheheheheheh Tracey
  8. I still have a few spots available for Colins Clinic in December Will be good to get you in the right frame of mind for the beginning of the new year. So you are well on your way before the new herding season starts Tracey
  9. Hi Due to popular demand I have talked Colin into coming up again before the end of the year so before everyone books all their weekends thought I better let you know what weekend we are thinking about. This will be an advance clinic for dogs that are working at Started level and above, the dog must have a reasonably good stop and is starting to know sides. We will be covering alot of the stuff we did in the 2nd clinic and also dealing with how to work obstacles and outruns/Casts. Because of the time of year we will be having a morning Session and Afternoon session times 7am-11am 2pm- till late (I have lights so no time restrictions) or when Colin drops from exhaustion but he will be able to have a nap during the extended lunch break. Date 8th & 9th December 2007 Limited to 10 People only (If you choose to run 2 dogs each dog will get the time divided between them) Price will be $50 a session or $80 per day or $150 for both days. this included stock fee and Lunch, tea and Coffee and breaks. We recommend you try and do both days as you will get more out of the clinic preference will be given if numbers fill to people booking both days. Money is required by 30th September so that I can book Colin’s airfare If interested please let me know as numbers are limited email [email protected] Tracey Ps I am getting my pool fixed in the next few weeks so you will be able to cool off during the extended lunch break
  10. Well i would disagree Robyn I think Jarrah and you did a great job on your first run in A Course my god you qualified the amount Of people that NQ on their first run is amazing from nerves alone. Apart from not keep moving on the Y & Z Chute I think you both worked very well. So stop being so hard on yourself I am very proud of you both. I wouldn't say a nightmare he was just a little pre-occupied and he went out nice and wide just got distracted by the other sheep in the outlet pen. I look at it as a training exercise and we now know what we need to work on. So stop being so hard on your self. Yes we had some great runs which doesn't reflect in the results Cybil and Abigail both did really great Advanced B Course runs but couldn't get the shed as the sheep were very heavy and clingy and made the task almost impossible specially when I haven't trained the shed. Lad managed to get his HSAs Title and Trim got her PT Title and Panda and Tweed both got their 2nd pass for HIC. Abigail and Cybil both Qualified in HXAs and Abigail got another Qual for HXAd. So all in all a very successful weekend Tracey

  12. I would be trying the herding before you put too much obedience on him, as I have found dogs with alot of obedience are sometimes hard to turn on as they are always looking for the handler and it masks the dog natural ability Tracey
  13. Thanks Vicki Yes she is a very honest dog I am going to give Lad and Abigail a run next 3 sheep trial even just to do cast, Lift and Fetch as that is all I wanted to do with Panda. I also picked up another dog (I need another dog like a hole in the head) but she would have been shot if no one had taken her so i will see if we jel if not she would make someone a nice dog to trial or do any performance event with. She is mostly white with a black ear, very nice breeding but until I get the pedigree I wont be able to tell full details. Tracey
  14. Hi Guys Well I took the plunge today and run in my first 3 sheep trial to say i was nervous is an understatement. I got there walked Panda then took her down and walked her around the fence line in the direction I would be sending her, then walked back let her watch a few dogs so she could see where the sheep came out then put her away. I was on mid morning so when there was still 4 dogs to run I went and got her out of the trailer did the fence walk again then sat down the end and watched the last few dogs run. the dog just before me crossed so I was in quicker then I thought. Anyway she did a nice cast and stop. while at the fun day on sat she wasn't stopping at the top but today she did. she did a lovely run got all the way to the Free standing Y Shute and was just getting them thru and one slipped around the side so i had to bring them all back and re do it, then on to the bridge she did some lovely work and slowly pushed the sheep over the bridge. I was told by the judge I was off course as I didn't follow the line of the cones on the way to the pen so readjusted myself and got to the pen, had a few goes almost got them in one but they slipped around the side at the last moment. I ended up running out of time before i penned them so ended up with a score of 58. To say i am please is an under statement I would have been pleased to just get the cast right but to get to the pen. One very happy trialler. Panda is a lovely dog to work and very honest she did 3 turn tails (I knew she did this when I got her) which cost me a few points but for my first go I am very happy. Looks like I may try and few more this year. Tracey and Old Mill Panda
  15. thought it was about time I introducted two new dogs that have joined my family that i have had for a while now but never had an decent photos of them (Not that these are any good any way but gives you an idea) they are both Working dogs Tweed is a young dog from New Zealand who is on the MR and Panda is a working bitch on the working Register as well as the ANKC Sporting register. http://www.fidelisbordercollies.com/Tweed.htm and Panda http://www.fidelisbordercollies.com/Panda.htm Tracey
  16. Thanks Robyn I must admit I have learnt more in the last 2 days then I have in the 5 years i have been trying to train my dogs. Its so simple as well not rocket science at all. Makes you wonder why its taken this long to find someone that can actually teach and show us what we need to do. I too can't wait for the next clinic its just a shame Colin doesn't live up here as he will only take a Maximun of 10 dogs so that each person gets enough sheep time. we worked it out and we reckon each dog got 3 hours on the sheep which isn't too bad considering there was 10 dogs Tracey
  17. Well the Border Collie Club of Qld had their second Colin Webster Clinic this weekend and all I can say is WOW. Colin took us to the next step in his training program. And I can honestly say i have never seen Abigail work so well. I never realised how bad she was going until I saw how well she could go and to fix it was so easy. Just got to now put the work in and make it a habit for her. We covered alot of material and at times the mind was boggling but it was well worth it. We covered Flight zones, reading the signs the sheep are giving, working on sides and decent reliable stop and most importantly Patience. We then went on to casts and most of the dogs did very well. We also increased the concentration span of the dogs and some went from 1 min concentration to 5 minutes. Can't wait for Colin to come back next year in May for the next level. Now to get on with the training and to make sure that I have accomplished my training plan we all had to submit by the end of the day. Tracey
  18. I think you have a hell of a lot to work with there she looks to be very young i wouldn't be writing her off yet. Tracey
  19. Thanks Leopuppy I must admit I feel really good Tired but Good as you do when you have achieved something you have been working on Tracey
  20. Have you got some one close that can work another dog in with her on the ducks I reckon she is so much like Trim wish you were up this way i would see what i could do for you as i have been there. I bet she is very stylist too seems a shame to give up on her. How did you get her to move for the HT then??? Tracey
  21. Do you know how many sheep there will be and if they are using the same sheep as were used last week Tracey
  22. that is what we call eye which is what we all want in our dogs it enables you to settle the sheep better and have something to work with. They are frustrating to train my little tri bitch was very sticky to the point I could walk up to her and nudge her with my foot and she would still not move. So i worked her on ducks where the dog needs to keep moving did this for 2 months then went back to Sheep and she is working very well now. Where abouts are you Crush testdummy Tracey
