Worst Excuses For Re-homing Or Surrendering A Pet
matty replied to PeiPei's topic in General Dog Discussion
"I can't keep my dog anymore. my new boyfriend is jealous because I got the dog with my ex. we are going to get a new puppy together." That one is bad Get rid of the stupid jealous NEW boyfriend....pleeeeaaaaase.....wonder if the new boyfriend inflicted more Jealous traits onto her in that relationship - oh well - she chose him. I have had * dog is too hyper for my caravan where i live - JRT 6 mths old * puppy chewed it's toy up - 8 week old Kelpie * dog digs my garden * dog makes yellow stains on my lawn * I have had a baby - don't want the dog anymore * dog leaves fur all over the place - foxy...... * dog gets out all the time - chicken wire fencing - terrier * dog barks because the kids don't play with it - isn't is supposed to amuse itself - 10 month old poodle * the puppy wees all the time everywhere - 6 week old tiny fluffer * dog jumps onto the trampoline - staffy I get the moving one the most though....... -
This appears to be a different family. Hmmm, strange - it all had the same childrens names and ages listed in the notice here. Sad to think there are so many fires lately - comes with winter Very strange - when I spoke with the lady this morning she knew nothing of this and told me she had no knowledge of someone in Bourke street collecting on her behalf. That is strange.....hopefully it isn't a bogus person trying to rip people off. The notice said it was a friend of the lady (whose house burnt downs ) sister. So fire victims sisters friend. Did that make sense? just disregard it, better to be safe than sorry.....

Sorry we cannot assist as they are not dog/cat friendly and all my carers have dogs at this time......

Just a question as i didn't see the program... was the owner of the dogs that killed the chis even a bit sorry for what happened. If I had a dog that got out due to me not having secure fencing, and then it killed something i would be mortified at what had happened.

I am one of the ones that cannot do it. I was an emotional mess when i had to do it to my boy and I just couldn't be there for him at the end.....i absolutely know that him seeing me like that, he would have known something bad was happening. Just thinking about it again makes me an emotional wreck. OH stayed with him, and he was a mess, but he can keep it together during the process, but i just can't. Yep, I am weak, but i can think of him as he was, alive and happy.....I just couldn't be haunted with visions of the end result. Each to their own, everyone is different. Such a wreck again just thinking about it On the flip side, if it isn't mine i can stay and hold a paw......i just can't seem to manage it for my own.

Ive had contact with them. This girl has also done a lot of rescue herself with native animals and we have to do a bit of work with her possums! Does that mean she has possums? What about WIRES.....

I have got to say we did laugh at the "dog" impersonation......the kids thought it was hysterical But that aside those dogs should not be roaming, and if they cared about their dogs at all they would ensure their safety and others safety and make sure they cannot get out at all.

Pup Returning After 1st Night! Unbelievable.
matty replied to moosmum's topic in General Dog Discussion
It is best for the pup to come back NOW and not be where it isn't wanted. We rehomed one here after yard check, people check and even checked the peoples dog which is cared for fantastically. He was returned after 24 hours. He chased their cat up the tree and their dog didn't want to "share". When he was back with his carer he showed cowering behaviour towards people for a week....so goodness knows what happened in that 24 hours but i am damn glad he is back with us. You just never can be sure but you hope you can place your dogs in the best homes but sometimes it just doesn't work that way. -
That is so sad. I am very sorry for your loss

That would be my attitude towards that as well. I wouldn't expect the other person to be paying anything if i hadn't taken steps to ensure my dog was safely contained wholey within MY yard.

Oh bugger Trish....i just caught this update when he was on the mend and coming home. Hopefully they will get some answers soon and he can start on the road to recovery

Oh god! I hope they didn't think they'd get Cecil Trying for the sympathy vote? Delusional people can be so dangerous. They will try another angle, I would imagine. So hopefully someone will be on the ball again to suss them out and to be able to expose them again. NOOOOO not Cecil. They were after Bundy who is a silky X Terrier. I had warning flags from that comment alone. There are plenty of rescues that send dogs great distances.......so to keep getting knocked back for that reason only was a bit weird.

without anyone actually seeing for themselves it would be hard to speculate on anything this person says. My email said the exact same description of herself, kids and dog, BUT it also said she has been trying to adopt a rescue dog for ages but everyone keeps knocking her back as she is "too far away".

Yes i agree - i am the same - I read a thread or 2 then i am outta there through all the tears. Just reading this thread has set me off again

Do You Give Guarantees? Do You Expect Guarantees?

As a dog owner: I would like to see improvement etc to whatever problem i had, but i wouldn't expect a guarantee. -
Name: Evie Sex: Female Breed: Chinese Crested Age: 12 WEEKS Loves: Don't know yet - i get her on the 5th of January. I can't wait!

My dog - a lab x staffy used to be the same. I could not get her out past the front of the house before she started crying, refusing to walk, walking so slow so she wouldn't get too far from the house. I just kept on walking. Going further and further away from the house each time. The only time she walked quickly is when we turned around to go home. I enrolled her in puppy school - got her out and about and socialising. She blitzed puppy school and over time became more confident when out of the confines of the backyard. She is fine now with all situations - it was perserverence i guess in getting her out and about and out of her comfort zone. Sorry, I can't provide anything useful other than what i did above worked for me.
