  1. Hehehe....there are even a number of people who work for the RSPCA who have these type fences/collars...unfortunately they have to keep quiet as if it's a dirty lil secret...instead of being able to treat it like any other useful tool to keep their dogs safe and sound.
  2. it's cool I haven't got any left available at this point...but i've got you down on the list for if i come across any more If I'm lucky they will send me an extra handful...it's perhaps unlikely but i'm keeping my fingers crossed
  3. Oh...i thought i had better add...my other dog i trained in the 'traditional' way...but it just wasn't working for my pup...and neither of us was enjoying it because of that...so i thought i'd try something different...and so far it's working and we couldn't be happier
  4. I have started using the clicker training method with my dog....and within half a street he was walking at heel with a loose lead... He knew 'heel' but it wasn't sticking as such...but the clicker marks where i want him to be and literally by the time i was half way down the street he was walkiing nicely...even when i ran out of treats! Oh...i have a 9month old GSD...with 40kg's of pulling power...lmao...but i also don't want to stop him completely jsut do as he is told as i want to teach him 'lead out' for tracking in the future and i don't want to have to teach him that he can leave my side if told etc
  5. Ok colours noted Chezzyr & Skyesong - I have already got homes for all the clickers that i ordered, and have eaten up the fudge factor i had put aside  i had no idea these things would be so popular! If they send me any extra's or freebies, i have you on my list so you'll be the first to know if that happens ETA - I will be aiming for the direct deposit as i'm guessing that will be easiest for all concerned
  6. I've currently got you down for 2 Maverick...that ok? I can go to 3 if you want though? (fudge factor is now very limited  )
  7. I have not seen a training tool yet that can not be misused in some way...it's just up to the handler to do some research, learn how to use the product and see how it works with their dog and method of training. I have started clicker training with my 9mth old (today!) GSD and i find it doesn't matter what type of collar i use when doing so as it's not being used as the training tool...nor is the leash for that matter  It's proving to be a fun, quick and impressive way of training.
  8. OK...it's official...i am at work and am bored to tears...well...almost...i am avoiding some things that are more like Monday type jobs  So...if you want to give me your colour preferences i will add them to the spreadsheet i have done up You have a choice of Black, Green, Red and Blue clickers...all have yellow buttons. When the clickers turn up i will go from the top of the list and work my way down...i know the colour of the clicker isn't exactly important but it's giving me something to do... And i have a preferrence so..perhaps others do as well
  9. Nooooooooooooooooo Don't Jinx Me!!!!!
  10. Oh no! Mel has been taken over by Mr Burns!!!!! Ok and an update...the clickers are on their way to me as they have already charged my card  I'm guessing a week or so for them to arrive?
  11. OK...i have my first indication of price...so far i am working at..... $1.50 per clicker $2.00 postage per 'package' (i think this is how much it will cost...$1.00 for the small 'tough' post pack and $1.00 postage because of that...once i clarify this with AusPost i'll note it in the thread ) eg... 1 clicker + postage = $3.50 2 clickers + postage = $5.00 4 clickers + postage = $8.00
  12. Have a read of the innotek collar thread...from memory there are some good alternatives to the e-collars as well as information on the collars themselves. Good luck with your darling girl
  13. Hehehe....i did say i had a fudge factor...i've got enough spare for up to two each for you three if that's enough? (I still have a couple up my sleeve if needed)
  14. Give the fasting a go...my pair (GSD pup and Rotti x 9yr old) get a fast day once every two weeks or so...it won't hurt the dog if she is already in good health. I went through this with my GSD pup when he was about 3 months old...after a day and a half i won and he hasn't turned up his nose at anything since
  15. Ok...just to let everyone know...i have placed the order and we've just got to wait for them to turn up
  16. As Packsapunch said about show dogs...many are encouraged not to sit and will just stand...and stand and stand...you can put them into a sit and they might for a few moments...and then they will stand again. Best bet is to go right back to stage one with teaching the sit and just go from there, it will take longer as you'll have to increase the time that you have them sitting etc. It won't happen over night but it will happen
  17. If the dog is a full male then that could be why he's burning the plants...i've been told that putting apple Cider Vinegar in the drinking water can help this issue...for both the boys killing plants and the girls killing circles of lawn ;)
  18. Advocate is an all in one product as well ;) But i would not recommend using it until your dog has had the heartworm test and is given the all clear. As to the heartworm test...get it done as soon as you can arrange it then you can start your dog on heartworm medication.
  19. Ok...I am calling an end to all clicker orders I will still have a few available but i figured i will keep them as the 'fudge factor' for the time being As soon as i have all the details i will let everyone know.. general stuff on this thread and more specific info by PM
  20. George - the injection can be cheaper for smaller dogs depending on where you source your dogs medication...but for bigger dogs it's way more then monthly heartworm medication.
  21. Tilly - the VIP one is just a basic course.....but i've yet to hear the next course starting date...
  22. I had the option of drenching my dog in stuff...or giving him injections....but i didn't want to do that to him the more i looked into it the less i liked the idea. I went to a different vet and they let me in on the secret of the localised demodex being self limiting...you can do anything or nothing to it and it will heal over in a few weeks...the same time line as with injections etc. But you do have to make sure it isn't generalised demodex before looking at that way... Glad to hear George is back and all is good with him
  23. Kk Melt...you are now listed as getting 4
  24. Ok...to this point i have everyone who has pm'd me or posted listed
