I'd love to have more for people but i ran out a lil while ago...the best bet is to either go thru blackdog they have them in black only for $8.00 each plus postage. Or do as i did and go thru Karen Prior's site , it still works out cheaper then i was able to find them. However i have seen some of the i-clicks being sold by some obedience clubs for $5.00 each, so it might pay to check out the places near by. I won't be ordering any more again for a long while i think...or unless i see more stuff on that site which i convince myself to buy  Edited to change blackdogs website...cause i think i got it wrong..lol.

You'll be fine Just take it all in steps and be consistant

lol...I tend to get mobbed by ML's dogs...lmao...sometimes makes it hard to walk tho with them all trying to get smoochies Hopefully people will start getting their clickers tomorrow Darn auspost! lol.
-
Well...some say it's heel or nothing...but I don't agree...mostly because i want to get Bronx into tracking sometime in the near future and it's harder to teach the dog to lead out once they have 'heel' drummed into them...least so i have been told. So i give our walking 'styles' a command...'Heel' means he walks at heel, 'Lead out' means he walks out front (already nose to the ground ) and 'walk on' when it's just a relaxed stay within length of lead thing. We haven't got this perfected yet but we're getting there ;) EFS

Yeah...but your clickers were delivered by kitkat courier services inc

Just waiting for a couple more addresses etc and then the last will be gone as well So...any one recieve their clickers yet? or is Auspost making me look bad?
-
They are never too young! I started getting my furball used to the leash within days of getting him home and it's only recently that he's started pushing the issue of actually heeling...but we are working on that with using both the clicker and with turning and walking a different direction

I'd have to take a second job to pay for my two dogs to be in doggy daycare...then i'd be spending even less time with them and they'd have to be in care for longer :S Mind you i'd not put my dogs into daycare for a number of reasons which i have discussed in other threads. Mind you any thieves would be happy...they'd have free and quiet access to my house during the daytime. How nice
-
And all i can say is thank goodness for them being available

If i wanted to cause my dog/s 'pain' or 'torture' them...there are quicker and much cheaper ways of doing so. I'd certainly not be paying several hundred dollars to do so. I paid that much to contain my dog and keep him safe...and to keep him in general.

Ok...for everyone that has given me their addresses etc...they clickers have been sent , I got one package off yesterday but the rest will be going out in todays mail Just waiting on details from others before i can send them on ;)

Now....i have done this type of training with two of my dogs. The reason for it was i was going on holidays and had to put the dogs into boarding...so i put them in one where they would be trained as well...after i checked it out and checked out their dogs. I was happy with the result, my dogs came back happy and healthy and we went back each weekend where myself as the handler was trained to work with my dog. I wouldn't recommend such a young dog go into that sort of training..only because these are still formative months and i believe they should be with their owner not some trainer somewhere. I'd not actually suggest this type of training until the dog was 12 months or so. Check out some of your local dog obedience schools and their puppy classes. The trainers are generally very friendly and helpful....it's also fun for you and your pup...and the socialiastion aspect is great as well.

Hehe it's all good :D and at least i don't have to lick and stick the envelopes!!! Ok...everyone..please forgive my basically standardised PM...after the first three pm's i wrote i gave up and started copy and pasting them and changing the amounts and such... i'm so lazy So if there are any problems just let me know
-
Is Cannon Hill anywhere near you? there is a Petwise there and if they are as good as the one over my way they'll have all those suggested so far....they would probably have to order in the EaglePack if you want to try that though. ETA - I just checked where Cannon Hill is...and i don't think it's anywhere close..lol
-
So which place did you buy stuff from last night?
-
The bigger petshops and some produce stores will carry those ranges...Eagle pack is a bit harder to find though. As to price i think they roughly work to the same prices as Iams/Euk, not sure how much the Eagle Pack is as i've yet to even see a packet.

Edited due to double posts....thanks to my pc...

My top fav's at the moment would have to be.. 1. Royal Canin (for both the cats and the dogs) 2. Advance (again for both the cats and dogs) 3. Iams (again for both cats and dogs) I often also use Supercoat but fine the larger kibble better for my large dogs. Purina is also available thru supermarkets and i would consider it to be better then supercoat...though not as good as the ones i listed.

I was baby sitting a rescue border collie a little while ago..and she had been debarked. When she did bark it sounded like a foxie wrapped in a towel...now this might be what is wanted...but the poor mite had problems breathing when she was stressed and during/after exercise.

Ok...they have arrived!!!!! I will be sending pm's to everyone some time today etc to confirm numbers etc...then i will pass on bank details (still have to call back and get said details, lol) and the clickers will be on their way soon after (I still have to go to the post office and get the envelopes etc )

I must admit if i had agiant breed dog i'd be looking at feeding something of very high quality that is specifically made for giant breeds...eg..Royal Canin Giant Breed, Eagle Pack Giant Breed, Nutrience Giant/Large Breed, etc etc ETA - many of these come in stages for the dogs as well...like baby puppy giant, junior giant, etc etc

You are happy to use an electric fence/wire...yet you don't like the innotek time collars/fence because of issues? I'm not trying to be annoying or pushy...but it just leaves me curious because it's not much different...except the innotek collar/fence gives a warning beep when they get to a set distance and they only get corrected/zapped if they get too close to it. But it is consistant...and they can't get around it...because it's a radio wave rather then an electrified set wire that they can get around/over/under/etc etc
-
That's right...the collar/control unit is set so that the collar beeps when it gets to a certain distance from the fence, if the dog ignores the warning beep and gets closer to the fence it will get a 'zap'. As to the voltage...i couldn't tell you...i can tell you that it's less then the standard static zap you might get from scuffling across carpet and touching something metal, or touching someone. To me it's very similar to the 'zap' you get from a tennse (sp) machine.

No probs Christina77...as soon as they arrive i'll let everyone know the details
