  1. Oh Oh Oh...i'd be interested if there was one in Brissie!
  2. Someone here posted the recipe for something like 'silk balls' or some such...used for putting weight on a dog...it should be somewhere on this thread...i'll go have a look and see what i can dig up... ok...not silk balls but satin balls...so i was kinda close :D and here's the Link
  3. Even if his eyes are closed you should be able to get some in...make the cream a pointy dot on the pad of you pointer finger and lightly press it at the corner of his eye and then gently massage his eyelids...a good proportion will go in :D Or if you want to do it with his eyes open...set him you where he can't go anywhere, with one hand have your pointer finger at the top of his eye and the thumb at the bottom, spread your fingers slightly, this will open the eyelids and then you stick the cream at the corner and then gently massage the eyelids you do have to be quick as it's not exactly appreciated by the pooch
  4. Alibear - do the trick of peanut butter or vegimite on the fridge door...while Bear is licking away at the yummy stuff you stick the stuff in his eyes :D
  5. :D I did that once with a pic of Bronx...brought it up on my screen after downloading it from my camera....i was looking straight up his nose ! :D And yeah....very nice pic's :D
  6. Eepp....you might have to shrink those pic's...as much as i don't mind filling my screen with a gsd pup i can't see him all at the same time...i keep having to scroll around him
  7. Hehehe don't apologise and you're not stupid :p - But to make amends ( ;) )you have to post a pic of Bear ;) EFS = Edited for Spelling.....lol...it's something i'd be typing a lot if i didn't shorten it
  8. Make the car fun for him...open up all the doors and put treats up towards it, encourage him to crawl around and check it all out..bribe if necessary..lol. Then do the up and down the drive way bit with once he's out he gets a treat, even give him a pig ear to chew while going short distances etc. As to the ginger tablets (travel calm, available from chemists etc) they should be given 1/2 hour before the trip...and no food or water for at least that long before the trip
  9. To put it in his eyes the easiest way it to dab a bit on your finger and gently wipe it into the inside corner of his eye, then ever so gently (no pressure) rub his eye...he'll close it automatically...now to do the other side will be harder as he'll know it's coming! But it's much the same you might just have to be quicker about it The flushing may not be a permanent fix but it will depend on what the cause of the blockage is. EFS
  10. Vegies can make a good treat as well as a bit of a suppliment...not matter waht food they are on. I actually give my dogs carrots instead of bones some times and they happily munch on them
  11. Yeah...he's got huge ears too..lol, he'll grow into them but going from those pic's i'd say they will go up and stay up...eventually
  12. Ok...here's some pic's in a time line...these were taken over a 4 month period.... I've just taken these from threads i have had in the pic forum so i don't have the 'name' of hte file which had the ages Bronx was when the pic was taken
  13. My pup was about 6 months (i think) when his ears finally set...I'll post some pic's tonight when i get home. First they were both down, then one went up, then both went up, then one went down, then they swapped sides being up and down, and then one day they went up and stayed up
  14. Yup...they'll still be going up and down...and perhaps will swap sides from time to time It's fun to watch...but if they've both been up then they should stay up...eventually
  15. Some dogs also 'grin' infact it can be a characteristic of some breeds...i recently met a border collie that 'grinned' bared teeth and all but it was an excited greeting not aggression.
  16. Perhaps i'm just not 'getting it' but Lioness...is it the front dew claws or the rear ones that you were recommended to take off?
  17. I'm just waiting for Mr K9 to come back to QLD This thread has gotten very interesting to say the least
  18. Perhaps she's testing you to see if she can wrangle you into buying her a variety? I'd stop giving her the other good stuff for a day or two and give her just the kibble...taking it away if she doesn't eat it etc. also since it's cold pour a lil warm water over it before giving it to her, it will make it smell more appertising (sp) as well.
  19. I got a great pair from Big W Unfortunately i can't remember the brand name...but they feel nice in the hand and cut well without jagging and i think they cost me about $12.00 all up.
  20. Hehehe it is amusing to watch... Mind you my hiding behind a tree or some such so that Molly doesn't see me watching you pair probably evens out the amusement factor
  21. Just make sure the halti is fitted properly I don't use one but the only problem i see is perhaps the training issue with them...most dogs i know that are trained with them work perfectly while they are on (except for the occasional nose rub to get it off) but once the halti is off the dog is back their their old tricks/behavoiur. But i think it's up to yourself as to what works for you and your dog/s
  22. Rescue Remedy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I haven't gotten to this stage of training and trials myself....but i've been told by others that the rescue remedy takes the edge off Or perhaps a couple of beers before going into the ring? stop drinking before the slurring and stumbling stages though
  23. I think as long as you don't put the little tyke down anywhere it should be fine...they do do puppy preschool there so i can't see there being a problem...but like i said...just don't put him down on the ground at this point.
