  1. I'd also consider ProPlan's sensitive kibble...it's based on salmon and i have seen and heard only good reports on it...warning...it does smell fishy tho! so make sure to seal the bag or place it in a sealable container...lol
  2. Just did a quick pretend order...and it's only $15 postage!!! :eep: For $176 worth of stuff! Was just given this site to check out as well Canine Outfitters
  3. Cor!!! THe have some great stuff as well!!! And yeah...talk about bargains!!! Check this out! Jacket/vest
  4. Not yet, thinking of sending an email to find out if they have regular suppliers up here or not.
  5. Hehehe...i've just ordered a catalogue...so i 'll be waiting for that before i do anything...i have however narrowed my want list down to about $300 AU plus postage
  6. It's ok...he's not a 'right bastard'...but he can still be a 'SOB' ;) But yeah...would have to say the same as the others...NILIF and TOT. He's playing you at this point, when you want him to do something...mean it...use that motherish tone on him :D (i do find the 'mother tone' works a lot...lol) Don't touch him to correct him, use voice or a pop of the lead - He knows what you want so there's no need to guide his butt to the ground for example. And most of all...hang in there! As soon as you get fustrated - stop, put him away if needs be...but step away from the situation. But like i said...hang in there...you will get there and just think...you'll be able to look back and go..."that was how he was like - now see how good he is" ;)
  7. Ravensmyst00 - Cordy was just having a bit of a play, she has much the same thoughts of PETA and their antics
  8. I've recently discovered the Leerburg website...and i want to buy so much from it!!!!! Gear and DVD's... Can't half tell i'm a shop-a-holic huh? but anyway...seriously... Has anyone bought anything from their website? and if you don't mind sharing what did you think of the items you bought (quality/value for money etc)? and again if you don't mind...what was the postage costs? Currently it's only postage that's got me weighing up buying stuff or not...and i'm still narrowing down the list of things i want ;) :D If i was to put in an order is there any Brisbanites who'd be interested in ordering at the same time and we combine postage? Oh...and for any who don't know the website is here if it worked Thanks all ;)
  9. Oh...perhaps of some interest...PETA has been caught creating experiments and situations of animal cruelty...filming it and putting it out there as fact files of companies...wouldn't be thinking you'd find it on the PETA website tho...
  10. I'm in Brissie...and i have a pinch collar  Most training (especially CCCQ affiliated ones) don't/won't use them. Most of them are pushing halti's lately actually :-S
  11. As you know i've been thru a few vet sugeries hunting for the one that suits me and mine...and for me that's Salisbury Vets on Lillian Ave. Yes...i've told you that before but thought i'd give them a plug  As to why i like them * Vet doesn't act like a 5 min expert * Vet doesn't treat me like an idiot * Vet doesn't treat my dogs like slavering beasts (used to call Harm 'Harmless' * Vet doesn't treat my cats like large rats (no offence ratty people ) * Vet discusses stuff with me and lets me make decision (eg at times i have driven by ad picked up stuff to dose animals with rather then being charged a consult when not needed) * Has been a vet for ever and ever...lol * Fairly priced * They dealt/helped with Harm in his last hour with honor and respect, and made the procedure painless for him which caused less pain for me. * There is more...but i can't think of them at the moment
  12. *sob* May my heart dog fly free with those others who are missed each and every day. May those we share our hearts with forever have a place within our memory, heart and soul.
  13. Raw egg is fine...as long as you include the whole egg not just the white etc. There have been threads on such if you feel like doing a search.
  14. Could you perhaps add some dry to her diet? just while she's being so picky about what she eats and doesn't eat?
  15. Some times girls get fussy when pregnant...think food cravings and food turn offs like with people lol.
  16. In regards to 'washing' your dog due to them getting muddie you are better off hosing them off and towel drying them before they come inside etc. Or let it dry and brush out what hadn't already fallen out. I do that with my longstock coat GSD's and it works nicely - too much washing can be damaging to a dogs coat...
  17. Just so you know...the main reason maize is the first ingredient...is because RC weighs the meat after it's been dehydrated...rather then some other companies that weigh the meat before it's dehydrated so that they can put it at the top of the ingredient list...
  18. The leonards mince shouldn't have any preservatives...all it is is mulched/minced chook frames... And to add to the 'prey diet' idea...wouldn't it mean that you would gives your dogs heaps of food over a day or two...then fast them for a day or two? and continue along that line? (please note "you" is a generalised "you" rather any anyone specific :D )
  19. Fly free Tex...you are in good company at the bridge, relax with said company until you are reunited with your loved ones again.
  20. Hehehe yeah...my dogs ate apple cores and grapes! I've just slowly gotten paranoid with the "don't feed this" thing (tho they still occasionally share things with me that they perhaps should have, but it's never much of whatever it is). So was just curious is all :D
  21. I thought such things as apple seeds were a problem due to them containing arsenic? os some such?
  22. Do the juicers also take out such things as apple seeds? or do you have to remove them first? or by hand afterwards?
  23. The RSPCA SuperStore has Hills all over it...and it's the only dry food they stock from memory. The store i generally go to (doesn't sell pets) stocks the most common varieties of foods (Euk, RC, Proplan etc, Supercoat, Bonnie, Pal etc). They pay for their shelf space and to put up some advertising if they are doing a special etc at the end of the shelf space...but they pay for the privalge. And the spot is only theirs for a limited amount of time before another brand gets their turn.
  24. Hey Jag I'd post pic's before and after (if i had decent ones)...but it would just drag this thread OT as my boy didn't do well on Barf However most dogs look great/better (depending on what they were fed etc) within a short period of time on a well balanced barf diet It's a great diet if they do well on it...and most dogs think it's great getting 'treat bones' all the time...lol.
