  1. 'Meal' is the meat already dehydrated so is more accurate as to placing on the ingrediant list. 'Meal' is still hold containing it's 75%or what ever of water...so take out the water and it's placing on the ingredient list is likely to change... I'd probably go with product A...as the lamb is already dehydrated when added to the listing and rice is easily digestable by dogs, but much would depend on what i thought of it and how my dogs did on it.
  2. Perhaps the inside leg problem is from splash back?
  3. http://forums.dogzonline.com.au/index.php?showtopic=78727 I found a website that was really interesting in regards to dry food eg protein, by products etc etc the link to the site is at the bottom of the quoted info on protien.
  4. Lol...my boys have always tilted to pee if not cocking the leg - they tilt their hips down and forward slightly so their pee don't hit even close to the front legs - thank goodness! Gee...Jonty picks his moments huh?? i mean...at training??? Icky Q...perhaps it's not just pee? Perhaps he gets overly excited sometimes like Sabe does...and just...well...
  5. Eerr...Bronx has always put a 'tilt' to his peeing as he doesn't cock his leg either...but he's never gotten his belly messy... Sabe on the other hand has been cocking his leg since he was like 3 months...but he also 'tilts' if he decides not to cock his leg - unfortunately he does occasionally get his belly messy if he...umm...gets overly excited and can't control himself But...sorry...no help for you...but i offer my sympathies!!

    Bones

That lil bone the pup will crunch up - but it is best to supervise them just in case they try to swallow it whole. You can cut the wings into the three pieces thry the joints if you think the whole wing is a bit big for a pup.

    Bones

The reason most people don't start off with leg bones, eg drumsticks is because they are a weightbearing bone and much stronger/denser etc so better for the bigger/older dogs more so then pups. Wings etc are much easier on the jaws and tummy of a pup, and easier to munch on for some of the smaller breeds etc. Or at least that's mind understanding of it
  8. I take my GSD's out to a DIY hydrobath because it's easier for me and they have the blow dryers However, before water restrictions, on hot days i'd bath the dogs by hose in the back yard - just make sure you have the lead and collar on if they don't like a bath etc.
  9. Another Question for you...if the dog has a food word...do you use that at all? or do you ditch it and stay with the "yes" and "ok" (or their variable)? or do you try and fit in the food word after the "ok" for example?
  10. What type of food is he hiding? eg bones or kibble etc? A bit of PawPaw ointment on his nose will keep that under control but it might be a matter of watching him eat and as soon as he starts to take things away to hide then take what's left if his food away...perhaps lessen his portions but increase the number of meals so he's still getting a normal daily intake?
  11. Couldn't find the exact ones i was after but here's some snippets and link to full write-up etc... From Here From Here From here From Here - interesting site this one Just some links - http://www.gooddogmagazine.com/dogfoodcosts.htm http://www.fda.gov/cvm/petlabel.htm http://www.aafco.org/ - not sure if we have our own version of this - but a high % of foods available here are from the US and/or registered with the AAFCO

    Panadol?

I thought it was asprin that would kill cats not panadol? perhaps it's both...but i've been told by vets before not to give the dogs panadol...
  14. My listing of the foods isn't going by my 'personal opinion' else Hills would not be in the SP range - but i am going by quality of ingredients and how concentrated the kibble is. Eg i feed two cups of RC to my adult dog - i would need to feed twice that amount or more of some other brands. BUT it does come down to what suits your dogs...i know some who do wonderfully on Pedigree Performance/Supercoat for example - and that's great as it suits the dog. Comes down to if you think your dog can be in better condition then try something else - if they are healthy/great coat/energy levels/condition etc then stick with what you are using. I mean...my Bronx does great on RC but not Advance - yet i know other GSD's who do brilliantly on Advance - comes down to the individual dog - my old dog used to get chum/pal kibble - and was always in great condition *shrugs*
  15. Ok...rough guide for packaged foods Super Premium- Royal Canin Nutro EaglePack ProPlan Eukaneuba (sp) Hills Advance Nutrience Natural Balance (from WA - available from www.pricelesspets.com.au) Dick Van Pattens Natural Balance - available from some PetCafe's Premium food; Iams Good food; Supercoat Pedigree Performance Optimum Purina One Bonnie Only problem with checking with your vet is that if they stock a food that is the one they are going to advise you use. Most will also be totally against raw feeding which is an option if it suits your dog and suits your lifestyle.
  16. I'm aleady hooked! In his pack he has a mob of Rott's and GSD's...not to mention the mob of PB's etc...the pic's and descriptions just make me go "aaawwwww"
  17. Hehehe...yeah...the DVD's aren't cheap but...they are good The book Cesar's Way is also proving very good...and rather hard to put down. I know Kmart has them for $16.95 paperback at the moment...
  18. Shek - wait till i can tell you about the other two - if you are interested...if you buy two the postage is the same as if you buy one...lol But yes...so far i'm happy!
  19. Couldnt' help but have a sneak preview...so far i am very impressed - you can tell it's a home job but the content is very good. I'm checking out the obedience one and he does go over a few things over and over...but it drills it in Ed even goes into what equipment is needed and the different types, eg collars, leads, toys etc - as well as soft/hard dogs drives etc...and this is before the actual obedience part of the DVD! So yes...will be able to watch this DVD a few times for sure...and keep getting info out of it.
