  1. If possible...buy in bulk!! Be it dry food or fresh - the more you buy the cheaper it will work out to be - just have to have somewhere to store it all!
  2. The way i understand it depending on the problem, eg with his disks, it can cause constipation or at least pain/strain when toileting. As to how to stop it long term...i don't know - other then perhaps mix some tinned food in with his kibble to help soften a little without to much trouble. I believe there may be some herble mixes which may help - hopefully people in the know will pop in and give those answers
  3. At the moment to do an order i have to order a pallet - so i figured i'd wait and see how their QLD campaign goes and go from there :p
  4. Both my GSD's have done that....not to mention my problem pup also eating a big chuck of kitty crystals! What i did was give them a big bowl of milk with a goodly dose of cat lax - the dog will drink the milk because it's milk and will drink as much as they can fit in - which the silica crystals will soak up and the milk and catlax will help the whole lot pass thru. I did run this past my vet and he was happy with it - but if you are unsure always check with your vet first.
  5. Yup...normal...but try and keep it to a minimum cat poo is very rich in protein, and i believe salt - so super tasty for dogs...lol, and it is after all a waste product...lol
  6. Oh Tilly....I'm so sorry. The big boofer will wait at the bridge and watch over your dreams. Give a hug to the other boofer for me. If you need to chat let me know *hugs*
  7. If i can get the stuff up here i'll give it a more conclusive trial - just seemed odd. I'm certainly not writing it off or anything.
  8. Not sure if it was the GB that the boys got as a meal - but it's the only thing in their diet that has been different...but both my boys came up in large hotspots on their backs...both around the same spot but Sabre's was bigger and went across his back at the waist whereas Bronx had it at the waist but only one side. Not sure if it was the GB as a meal that did it...but it's all that i can think of that's been different food wise or medication wise even
  9. I've often seen the dried ones as dog treats....can't see why not give a fresh one to the dog...if you can stand looking at it in the back yard!!!
  10. Ooo...do tell?? I meant to add my lil critique of the stuff the other day...will do so now - it's a totally different texture to 'normal' kibble...not so grainy...actually no where near as grainy. It's from one of those extruder thingo's but isn't kibble shaped or the long cylinder type either and all of different sizes. I'd seriously like to try the dogs on a bag or two and see how they go. They woofed into it and my Birman decided she liked the GB formula ;) Currently the company is trying to see who else up in and around Brisbane would like to stock the stuff and any of their other produce so that i CAN try a bag or two...lol
  11. Well...both boys woofed into their samples of BG and UA...i think i'd be wanting to stick with the GB...but i am fairly impressed with it so far!
  12. Bronx does it as well...and if he is feeling feisty i have to shoot him twice and he groans and whines as he 'dies' A lot seems to depend on his audience I taught Bronx much the same was as ISH has described
  13. So sorry for your loss, she was a special lil soul. Run free little Suki.
  14. Yup...no 'the' and this time i'll include the actual link  Dogfoodproject
  15. www.thedogfoodproject.com is vary vary useful and i think they have various links to studies etc...
  16. At the moment i'm thinking of checking out if any other produce stores etc get in some of the company's other products (horse/chook/cow/etc feeds) and see if they'd be happy to bring a few bags of GB or such up with their order.
  17. WF it could have been that having a whole meal of Ziwipeak by itself proved just a bit too rich for him? Perhaps do the slow transfer of foods and go from there rather then kibble with a lil ZP to just all ZP?
  18. Hmm...safe to say no one else in Brissie is particularly interested? Any showies down Goodna way who'd be willing to swap bag of GB for cash at a show??
  19. Perhaps minced frames, crushed chook necks and crushed turkey necks? At least with the turkey necks even if you bash them up a bit they should still be chewable but with less chance of getting stuck?
  20. Kiwioz - RC also has a Breeders Club so if you are a registered breeder and registered with RC they will give you a further discount on some bags
  21. Wylie - I'll PM you the email addy i've got as a contact and i'm sure they'd be happy to send you some if requested
  22. I've had no problems via email...they contacted me the following day and have continued to do so - and they are sending me up some samples of both foods. However it looks like the only way to get it up here is by the pallet load...so the store i am hoping to get it thru may not be interested unless i can honestly say that at least a number of Brisbaneites are interested... Mind you i think the stuff to buy is way cheaper then Bonnie and Supercoat...but apparently better then both..so if it doesn't have much interest yet it soon will!
  23. I've used Maxi Puppy, Maxi Junior, 4300, 4800, GSD and GSD Junior - all of which i've been very happy with and with good results - currently just trying other foods looking for a cheaper alternative due to buying a house. But the way things have been going i may well be going back to either the GSD formula or the 4300 for my two GSD's.
