  1. I wouldn't worry too much about it - just keep an eye on your smaller dogs condition - but just depending on the dogs activity levels i wouldn't see it as much of a problem. If it was me i'd feed the same food to the little one as well - it's a high quality food so i wouldn't see it as an issue personally
  2. Where in Brissie are you? Rochedale produce at Springwood sell it for $29.80 a bag
  3. Hehe...told you it was pretty good stuff My boys go nuts for it...even the cats try and snatch some!
  4. Does she have an innie or an outie vulva? if she had an innie that might be what the vet means that after her first season she may have matured/changed enough that her innie isn't an innie any more or not to such a degree and this less chances of infections etc...however it does come down to what you decide to do. If you are in contact with your breeder ask their opinion as well, and ask how old your dogs mother was when she first came into season to give you an idea of when it might happen etc.
  5. The best stuff i've found is 'Curash" or zinc powder - i've used it with my fluffy GSD's and haven't even needed to clip the fur back!!! One or two applications and the spot is gone
  6. I've used it and found it very very good - both the junior and the adult -it really is worth a try I don't work for RC any more and i still recommend it
  7. It's worth checking out Camel meat as well...it's becoming more readily available for pet meat
  8. Have you tried Uncle Albers/Great Barko? My guys are doing well on it and it's quite a dense concentrated food...one of my GSD's is only getting 2 cups a day...as opposed to 4cups of Euk!
  9. Look into Uncle Albers or Great Barko...i think their website is Laukemills? they should have a list of suppliers goes for around $25-$30 for 22kgs and it's pretty good food...i feed it to my guys when i'm not getting freebies from work or bones etc
  10. The shop i work at casually sells the Ezy dog stuff...and we go through stock fairly quickly as it sells quite well in Brissie at least.
  11. I'd be curious about the calcium factor...just meat with a sprinkle of kibbles and some oil isn't a balanced diet...preservatives or no...
  12. It's for a person at work....they are looking for a good groomer to groom (and clip the nails etc) of their Maltese x Shih Tzu...so any recommendations? Apparently they haven't liked the mobile groomers they have in their area - tho they may be mainly dog wash people offering to help out with grooming rather then professional groomers...not sure. Apparently price isn't a big issue as long as the treatment and cut is worth it...
  13. You can actually buy them in strips if that's worth looking at... I've often cut the ears in half here if i've decided the dogs don't deserve (or need) a whole one each. And when they were younger i'd cut them into strips for them to nibble at for a while. As to cost...i get them at staff prices :D otherwise they'd not likely have access to as many as they do
  14. No. Around these parts *cough* the correct term is "willy goo". Ok, ok. It's really called smegma. Hehehe....those were the words i was looking for So glad i didn't call one of my cats Smegal...i'd hate to think of his nickname after reading this thread otherwise...and he is a manky lil cat
  15. With one a day...the dog will get pudgy...mine did! Perhaps cut them into strips? so they would get a whole one every couple of days? eg depending on if you cut it into three or four pieces etc..
  16. I use cold black tea (or chamomile (sp) tea) whenever my dogs look like they are getting mucky/itchy/conjunt eyes - and do the same for myself...lol. How old is Sabre? The discharge around his penis could just be the mucus that is used to let the penis withdraw back into the sheath - not sure that's the right term etc but you know what i mean! Usually dogs will keep themselves pretty clean...just because they can :p
  17. I feed my GSD's at night...i can control what they do after dinner - whereas if i gave them breakfast and then left for work i couldn't be sure they'd not play silly buggers and if they bloated or something i wouldn't find out until i got home. After dinner they get checked on a few times before being put to bed...so they stay calm, etc and usually curl up under the house (under the lounge room) while they wait for bed time.
  18. I tend to stop when i 'think he's done' and when i'm not getting as much fur out - got to be careful as you can give them bald spots easily enough
  19. I either take to my two large fluffy GSD's with a hose in the back yard, or my preferrence is take them to a DIY hydrobath then take to them with the dryer afterwards :D
