I;m currently using Hills containers on wheels - they are great and fit nicely under a table to keep them otu the way...wheel them out when i need them I have two large GSD's so...food doesn't get a chance to go off/stale ETA - i use a proplan metal container for my cat food - seals nicely and i buy in bulk for my cats - but never had a problem with the food going off or stale

KitKat replied to chellz's topic in General Dog Discussion
Sounds like it could be Kennel Cough... -

That wasn't Pearl, it was Olive another one of my Seda puppies Oh was it? Still very cute Kitkat i was under the impression, and please correct me if i am wrong, that they cannot rehome police trained dogs if they fail anymore. They tend to go through an assessment process before training - so they get a good indication that the dog could make the grade before putting them together with a handler and formally training them. Those that don't cut it are desexed and found suitable homes - the waiting list is longer then the list of available dogs tho! Now it could very well be different in the different States etc. Trained dogs tend to retire with their handler, for those that can't be for whatever reason - they get very carefully picked homes to go to. Two of my fav lovebugs are in training and if they can't stay with their handler when they are retired i'll put my name up for them - tho that's a looooooong time away!!

Were you specifically after a pup? Perhaps consider a Police 'reject'? If the SA is anything like QLD, a number of fab looking higher then average (pet) drive, straight backed, often sable dogs don't quite make the grade to become a Police Dog - and so get desexed and put up for adoption. Not talking huge numbers usually (i know the list in QLD is longer then the number of available dogs) but 'perfect' homes can often be bumped up the list....

I did forward through the website to my boss at work...hopefully she'll have a good think about it

Does the QLD site still have the pics of Grey's they have waiting for adoption? Have a friend at work who might be interested...but i looked on the site but can't find pics of those available...just to start them looking...

Mum looked like a GSD to me (from memory, she's out of shot at the moment!) - as to the smaller poppet, the carers will no doubt make sure that one gets some extra I'll sometimes do that in my lunch break rather then walk the older ones...sit with Mum and give them a cuddle while sticking the littler pups on the good boobs for an extra top up...lol.

Aaawwwwww how cute are they!!!! They are almost as cute as my work's pups!!

A GSD i know was diagnosed with ED and HD at around 6-8 months old...had x-rays done and the owner was warned that the dog would need a minimum of $3,000 worth of ops to offer the dog a reasonable life. After convincing the owners to take the dog to a specialist for a 2nd opinion the dog was diagnosed with Pano, and a few months of being kept lean and low grade exercise the dog was fine. Certainly not saying this is what is happening to your poor pup - but second opinions are as important for them as it is for us! Hopefully there is a good happy outcome for your pup.

Must admit - i saw that first price and thought "oh yeah...not so bad" lol

Don't bother with the Frontline...go with Comfortis - a bit more expensive (depending where you buy) but works within hours and is incredibly effective!

Chronic Unknown Skin Condition - Desperate
KitKat replied to pixandpug's topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
I'd probably also consider dropping back to an incredibly bland diet of chicken and rice - but wait until you see the Derm before goin and looking for new foods etc. The eagle pack fish version is the anchovy one from memory. -
Saw a pair of Dobes in a window box tonight, and they are getting White Sheps in this week apparently...i didn't even want to look at the prices

I'd like to buy a new mobile phone...but not sure it would work here?

Royal Canin weighs their meat once it's been dehydrated - not all dry foods do that...think about how much water weight there is in fresh meat :D ETA - and everything before the fats and oils is what mostly makes up the food. Also i'd consider the GSD range...it's what i use for my GSD's and i couldn't be happier with the results

Unfortunately SEQ is rife with parvo at the moment thanks to the floods Hope your little girl makes it through.

KitKat replied to newfoundlandandus's topic in General Dog Discussion
A mouse got into my chook coop...and it was the chooks that dispatched and ate it! -
Anyone know if there is a supplier in Brissie? preferrably southside Brissie? ETA - Still curious about the food, but would rather not do with postage...lol
