    Peeing

No not as soon as I put him in. Same thing happens if I crate him if I pop out for an hour and there is bedding there he pee's on it, doesnt matter if it day or night or what time. Last pee at night is around midnight cos I dont sleep early and then again at 5am when OH gets up for work. Was thinking maybe he just doesnt like his bedding cos he does it on his heshian frame bed outside during day too, changed the bag twice on that.

Yes it is a plastic bottomed crate. He only does it if bedding is in there or newspaper if it has no bedding etc he doesnt pee, just sad I cant give him his alpaca doona, maybe when he is older.

    Peeing

Hi I have a 10 week old gsd. Of an evening he is crated and really no issues EXCEPT if I put bedding in his crate for him to sleep on he pees on it, if I dont put anything in with him it stays all nice and dry. To date he has peed on blankets, comfy foam cloth covered bed, alpaca doona specially made, towels etc. I feel bad not giving him bedding to sleep on but am at a loss as to what to try, he even pees on his heshian dog bed that is under our pergola. Any help and advice greatly appreciated. Oh he is toileted beore going to bed and when we get up in the morning
  4. Wonder if its a CC thing cos thats where I am too
  5. So how do you set up a forum for red itchy dogs? :-)
  6. OK my order of EP arrived today - thanks Lynda :-) and all I can tell you is that after the first wash OH border collie has no dark pink/red nasty looking skin underneath. Currently he is still under the dryer (making sure he is completely dry) I should have taken before and after shots. He wasnt itchy red raw type coloured skin but definately on the darker side of pink not quite red. Waiting to see how it all goes with the 2nd bath in 4 days.
  7. Hi Have you posted this on the GSD sub forum at all? Lots of good advice there also aswell on on here. Afraid I cant be of any help as I too have a pup but he is only 10 weeks old....yet to get there :-) Good luck I know the people on here at DOLS will be of good help to you

  9. Well Ive just ordered some - from the posts from everyone seems to be a great thing for itchy puppies and allaround
  10. So how much would you add to their water then please?
  11. Ok will see if I can find someone who does it thanks
  12. Yes makes perfect sense when someone else says it lol knew that just didnt THINK about it thank you To be honest - if you have a pup that comes inside and plays with the cats & kittens - I wouldn't use the Permoxin. I have used it on my dogs before who play with my cats with no ill effects but its better to be safe than sorry and it is likely that one or more of your cats might be more sensitive than others. Once the Permoxin is dry it is usually ok but then if the cats lick the dogs then they are going to ingest the Permoxin which is going to be toxic. I would simply not use it on your dogs in your situation. Use it on their bedding if that is away from your cats but I would avoid your dogs. Also as far as bombing your house goes - I think they are a waste of time & money. As I said before - I would be more inclined to have a professional come & spray. My reason is that those DIY bombs are hardly cheap and the area you want to spray is on the floor yet the spray goes UP in the air and then slowly floats down to the floor. Goodness only knows exactly how much is getting where it is supposed to. At least with a professional - they spray directly down. Does that make sense?? Good luck with it.
  13. Hi THanks for your reply I wash and dry bedding in hot water and dryer, dont use frontline but advantage or advocate along with Capstar. Havent washed pups for 2 weeks. Just wondering about shampooing before bombing or after? Carpets need to be cleaned as they ahvent been done for awhile but not sure which order to do it in. Lowset house so going to get someone in to spray
  14. Hi Georgie Boy THanks for your reply appreciate it I bought the permoxin but havent used it yet. Have treated all animals at the same time. Question - if I treat the older pup with permoxin, the fact that he comes inside and plays with cats/kittens would that be toxic to them then? Or is it only toxic in its wet form ie until it is dry on the pup?
  15. Hi Dogcop Thanks for your reply Im not sure which lime Ive jsut read somewhere on here that peple have used lime over their garden to stop fleas. Imnot getting any fleas on me when I walk outside but they have to be there otehrwise the dogs wouldnt have any on them would they? AS for treating inside we are fully carpeted ugh and I was going to flea bomb the whole house and then thought ok I want to shampoo the carpets so do I bomb then shampoo which I know can bring on fleas hatch eggs etc and then bomb again, or shampoo then bomb gawd what to do. I just want to treat everything the issue I have is the pups still have fleas the cats dont we dont get bitten inside or outside, all animals are treated at the same time but no I dont use Frontline as I think it is crap but thats just my opinion and choice, I prefer advantage or advocate and prior to getting the pups had much better results with it (show cats and they always came home with fleas when I was using frontline but changed to advocate and no probs especially at Ag shows)
  16. Hi I have been reading the threads about the fleas and what everyone uses. At present I am having to treat with Capstar every few days, advantage. I have bought permoxin but havent used it yet, can it be used on pups under 5 months? With the lime although I dont get biten by fleas outside they have to be there as the pups have fleas, is the lime poisonous to pups and how much should I put around the back garden or should I do the whole garden even though they only access back at the moment? Thanks
  17. IHF do priceless pet have it or the vet shed perhaps? I know with the vets around here its like double the price, which is pretty extreme. GUess the other side of that though would be postage- may work out cheaper at vets unless someone else near you buys in bulk or has an order they want to place and you could share the postage cost.
  18. I hear what you are saying :-) I know some days my cats will only get dry for the same reasons. I remember years and years ago my nan used to feed Dinki Di tin food to her yorkie that she added an egg and a small amount of vegemite, he had the most amzing shine to his coat. Trying to stay as natural as possible can be confusing sometimes with all the claims on the dry food it can be hard to know. SOme say follow what the breeder advises then others say no you shouldnt be feeding that. I know what I advise for my kittens so I guess its the same. Thank you for your replies you have been most helpful and I appreciate it
  19. Then my next queryt would be if one is feeding raw and dry why would we need to supplement at all? IE My pups get the following Dry food (Eagle PAck although looking into Vets All Natural) with the follwoing mixed in - brewers yeast, kelp, a bit of oil, weekly raw egg, yoghurt, veggie mix (celery, carrot, garlic, silverbeet sometimes a bit of cooked potato) For the raw they either get weekly liver, heart, giblets, kidney Daily is either lamb, beef, chicken In the wild they would have eaten whole carcass so why do we add brewers yeast, kelp etc if the dry says it has it all? Confused.
