We already have the 40D but the 7d looked a good price, didnt realise it was just the video part on it which we dont need as we have a video camera and rarely use it :-) Am going nuts on the BH website though ohhhhh some of those 100-400 lens drool 1500, maybe I will get that on my next trip over as a pressy to myself.

I am going crazy on this site now ading to my wish list and then making a choice.....free delivery in US and only a little bit for next day delivery, since OH is on his way to US now I could get it sent to his work and he can bring it back :-) I am opting for the USA ones though not the imports, am I correct in that the USA ones can be fixed under warranty anywhere in the world but the imported ones (grey) have to be sent back to BH? Canon 1.8 is $99 canon 1.4 is $349

Ok well it cant be a bad thing to have afliter for each lens. I have had my camera for 2 years and have done nothing with it so am now going to buy a couple of new lenses so was wondering about all of the 'accessories' you can get. Thanks

Thanks Kja. We have a filter on our current lense and it stays on all the time. I am going to buy a 50mm 1.8, this will be my second lense so maybe I will also purchase a hood and see how I go :-) Wont worry about extenders yet :-)

Could someone plese tell me the following Do I need to purchase a filter for every new lens I have and should I get UV or CPL? Do I need a hood and what are they used for? What does an Extender do and do I need one? Thanks in advance again

CAn someone tell me what the difference is between imported stock and Australian stock please? I mean know what it mens just in my research I have noticed some stores say lens is imported stock others say Australian and there is a price difference(talking Canon) also filters.....is it advisable to have a filter for each of your lens? Thanks ETA a silly question..is better to pruchase a UV filter or a CPL filter and are these filters all able to fit other lens ie say I have 3 lens will a filter fit them all or are they manufactured only to fit certain lens?
