  3. Ok...my mind has boggled with all the freaking brands and heads and stuff. So I need a tripod and a head yes? Will look at the sliks I only need it for dog / puppy pics and the odd other stuff but want a sturdy one so my new precious lens dont get busted. What version of the slik do you have Snook.
  4. This is the cutest thing Ive ever seen!!!!!!!!!!!
  5. It's a bit messy - I could probably consolidate down to 3 layers or so layer 1 darkens and adds the soft focus effect (masking out some areas to lessen the effect where I want some extra sharpness), layer 1 copy is a duplicate of layer 1 to increase the amount of the effect. The curves layers brighten or darken or change contrast on selected parts of the image (curves 2 and 4 actually don't have any effect, the mask is all black, I could delete those layers). Layer 2 removes a tiny bit of gunk from his eye Layer 3 adds the catchlight Brushsharp M2 adds some sharpening to his face Can u come to SA I need u as my PS tutor.....I dont even know how to crop in PS
  6. Thanks LindaK I do want a tripod. There are waaaaaaaaaay too many brands and types to weed one out. I want a normal kind of light tri pod the extends up and down and can carry 70-200 and 7d (for when I get one ) Any suggestions on what brands/ types are good?
  7. Cany'all please recommend a good tripod for me I usually do dogs shows and random home stuff. Lightweight would be best. Do you have to be coordinated to use a monopod cos I am a bit of a tard. What could/should I expect to fork out for a nice tripod and where from pleeeeease.

  14. I have had a DSLR for 3 years this xmas but only this year after reading the photos forum on DOL have I realised that you can do so much more with your pictures! Sooooo I have learnt what aperture, shutter speed and ISO mean. I have tried stuff off the auto setting. I have bought some DSLR photography book, Bought Photoshop (which i still have NFI how to use ) and bought a 50mm 1.4 lens and I am hoping santy claus brings me a 70-200mm USM IS II 2.8 lens. :D
  15. My repro vet says 6 weeks C3 and then 10 weeks 2nd vacc as this is some new protocol (somewhere?! ) so then the puppies are ok to be socialised earlier. This was news to me as I have always had 6 weeks then 12 .
  16. Dr Billinghursts BARF books recommend to give vitamin E if giving lots of fish, fish oild or omega oils as otherwise they can go rancid and cause problems. I give mine flaxseed oil or fish oils and fish a few times a weekand always give a Vitamin E tab just incase

  19. What a frustrating situation for you :D This happened to me about 18mths ago, we had biopsies x3 which showed nothing, MRI (showed worn through septum which in the end they assumed was cancer) all up it cost me $8000?! My girl had pyometra on top of that and the only way they could stop her massive nasal bleeding was to tie off both her carotids. After this they told me if it was cancer she would only live 3 months maximum, my girl is still alive....nothing wrong with her and I still have NFI what happened! My friend who has a bitch similar age has nose bleed post caesarean and after biopsy it showed allergic rhinitis. Is their any way your GSD chas had an anaesthetic recently (my friends girl had for her caeser and 4 weeks before the bleeding my girl had been inseminated with frozen semen under GA) I hope so much that you get answers soon. To stop the bleeding they can tie off his carotids....this was described by my specialist as a fairly benign procedure (?!) and although it wont give you an answer it will stop the bleeding. Hugs.
  20. You are so right BMP.  We have had 2 BOB's the last two weeks. :D But after the previous Saturday's we were 5th out of 5 on the next day.  x 2! I love the independence too, never thought I would be reversing a trailer or driving interstate by myself with the dogs to a show Last shows I went to my girl won BOB, intermediate in group and the in show judge told me how much he liked her, next show (same day) res cc and not even rubob seems kind of crazy. p.s whats chicken court mean?
  21. It is a good option if the machine is regularly calibrated to ensure accuracy and the staff handling the bllod sample know correct procedure. Not a good option if the above isn't done :D I work in a Vet Clinic where we have inhouse facilities for running progesterone assays, and we choose to send to the lab due to more consistent results and the fact that the lab is required to regularly calibrate all their machinery. Inhouse machines can have huge variations in results simply due to the individual's technique with setting up the assay. Even though we are all taught the same technique there are minor variations between staff. This situation doesn't exist in a lab as all setting up is automated. Lolapalooza - bet the puppy fairy is rubbing her wings together and planning a litter of 12 for you  :D Hey Talisker.........HA HA! Thats the stuff my freaking nightmares are made of.
