  1. Has anyone not recieved their numbers yet? I dont have mine and a friend one recieved 1 of hers back, missing the others. I cant get a hold of the secretary but my cheque was definately cashed!
  2. You misread what Sherel said. "We will be continuing with the 3kg and the 20kg, We have changed our company name to Black Hawk Premium Pet Care and look forward to adding to our Super Premium range"
  3. Can I ask what you feed? The exact same thing happened to my BC, and my vet was also stumped. Switched him to an all natural diet and took him off dry food and the hair grew back within a week!
  4. I agree on finding it hard to arrange pick up but sadly, its pick up only. I have to call the supplier and she then arranges with her friend to bring it back to her place as I live over an hour away from the lady who sells BH. But it's worth it Thanks for answering, we get white bags only. Any size. Not sure what state you are are, but im in Victoria, maybe why the bags are different? I do hope they continue to package the 3kg food in the black bags with foil lining. They are identical to Royal Canin bags but with a handle.
  5. No its fine I have tried delivery before when I used to feed raw and the supplier was on the other side of town, we could never agree on a day or time and it was a big mess.
  6. English Ivy, the foil lined bag is a 3kg bag, its black. Erny, I work a LOT and its too hard to arrange pick up or delivery since the distributors are not near me. Easier to pop down to a store on my day off to buy the dog food. Jules, not that I am near a Megapet anyway but are you sure it was actually Sheryl's Black Hawk? Her labels have photos of her GSDs and Collies on them.
  7. Just brought my first bag today. Got a 3kg from Specialty Mix to try them on, particularly one of my very sensitive dogs. I am glad this is now available at a store as I was not willing to feed this when it needed to be ordered through a distributor. Love the foil lined back to keep it fresh.
  8. You still haven't answered the question people keep asking in this thread. What happens if you spend hours grooming and travelling and turn up to find out the judge is a friend/breeder? If the judge tells a close friend that they are judging at a particular show, the friend tells someone else, the someone else tells their friends, its not long before everyone knows. It only takes one to spread rumours about who the judge will be. What if a false rumour gets out and people decline entering a particular show because they heard on the grapevine that the judge for the day is "Judge A", later they find out that the judge was infact "Judge Z"
  9. Mine sleep in 42" crates. This is comfortable enough for them to stand up in and turn around to get comfy.
  10. I only commented because you said this If your dog is hard to keep weight on, I dont know why you would consider feeding less when 3 cups is not much for a Pointer anyway, just because someone on a forum mentioned it might be too much. But glad you are doing the best to keep him the perfect weight.
  11. Im not sure if this is your first Pointer (no offence intended) but Pointers as a breed can really struggle to hold weight. I dont think 3 cups sounds like too much at all. I use one of the plastic measuring cups I got with a bag of ProPlan years ago. Never really measured it, think I will today. Badger is hard to keep weight on but 3 cups does seem like a lot. Might cut back a little and watch how he takes the drop in food.
  12. My GSD has never had a doggy odour, and I dont think I have met one with a doggy odour. I work in the pet industry and find that the smelliest breeds are those with short, single coats like Pointers, Staffords, Bulldogs, Bull Terriers etc. These breeds always make me itch and leave my hands with a real dirty feel. I also dont think many pet owners bother to bath these breeds as often as I wash my double coats because they are low maintanence which can add to the smell. A lot of dogs are smelly because of the poor diets they are being fed as well.
  13. I just feel sorry for all of the registered Labrador and Poodle breeders. Especially Poodle breeders who are probably sick of people asking them if their dog is a Labradoodle. But then I also feel for registered Chihuahua breeders with all of the teacup versions floating around in peoples handbags and the registered Pomeranian breeders with all of the Miniature Pomeranians around. If only people knew that Pomeranians should not be knee high in the first place. Its a mess and I will never support breeding mongrels for money, whether it be a "Labradoodle" or a Cockadoodledoo.
  14. We got a free box of Rotations to try out. Our dogs are fed VAN but I like to keep a good dry food aside for emergencys like travel, or meat that hasnt defrosted etc. Dogs havent tried it yet but the ingredients read well. Looks and smells a lot like Eagle Pack.
  15. Isis I have PMed you. Thank you everyone!
  16. Hi all, I feed raw and currently purchase my meat from a great shop in Thornbury but this is not proving very cost effective with 3 large dogs and another on the way. The meat is a great quality and I buy it in 800g tubs but its costing me $10 a day to feed just the meat, then there is the added cost of VAN. Also, am driving an hour and a half just to get this meat. Can anyone recommend anywhere in the western suburbs who sell a GOOD quality dog meat? I notice most in the pet stores are bright red and this worries me that they are pumped with preservative. I am feeding preservative free at the moment but would settle for a good quality meat with a minimal amount of preservative. I feel like im walking in circles, I have looked everywhere for a reasonably priced, good quality meat for the dogs and cant find anything! I am looking for beef, not chicken. I can get preservative free chicken mince very cheap, but dont want to feed pups on this all the time as it is 100% chicken frame mince. I am out Sunbury way and would prefer not to drive too far as I like to buy weekly so that I am always getting fresh.
  17. Thanks Danois, I am a member of their group, I had forgotten all about it. Thank you
  18. I would not expect new owners to feed raw. Many lack knowledge to do it properly and end up over or under supplementing the diet or do not feed enough during growth spurts. That said, I do encourage raw and my puppies get a variety of raw foods but the base of their diet is kibble. Barf patties aren't very economical when feeding a large breed like a RR. Its great if new owners choose to raise their puppy on a raw diet with guidence, however I think its a bit unfair to expect it, and by raising puppies on a strict raw diet it makes it a bit hard on new puppy owners. JMO of course ;)
  19. Thank you very much! Is he quite knowledgable on auto immune diseases? She is a specialist - so I hope so Lol, I was unaware. Thank you very much for your suggestion.
  20. Thank you very much! Is he quite knowledgable on auto immune diseases?
  21. Hello, I am looking to contact knowledgable vets with a few questions about auto immune diseases in dogs. I lost a dog to AIHA last year but we only delt with the vets at the emergency clinic. I am hoping to hear from anyone who has also had the unfortunate experience of having a dog with an auto immune disease, and knows of any specialists I could email? Thank you in advance
  22. We feed raw to our adults but raise pups on Advance as not all puppy owners want to do a raw diet. We have never had trouble with Advance and it is well priced compared to some other brands of equal quality. Everyone will have their own opinion on what is good and what is "crap", there is nothing wrong with Advance and it certainly isnt crap. If your dogs are doing well on Proplan, perhaps put the puppies onto Proplan puppy formula?
  23. Agreed, very very tough dryers and very powerful
  24. Hugs to you Claire and Emma. If you need anything, let me know. xo
  25. Bono Fido have them. Black pens with 8 panels. Rounded top, actually a really cute looking pen.
