  1. Congrats, Impatiens!! That's a big task to complete. Will you be doing a 2013 version?
  2. Nothing to botch up - just start a thread titled: 52 Weeks for Dogs 2013 :) Then everyone will simply join in. Easy.
  3. Yup, they are your three images to create as you wish. I'd expect some themes will be sets and some will be wildly different individual images. There aren't really any rules for images bar the size (900 pixels long side), sticking to the theme, shooting them during the alloted time frame and posting on the right day :D Content is up to you!
  4. Not that I've ever heard. You'll need to start a camera jar and have self-discipline until you save up. Layby without the middle man :)
  5. Remember as you're editing that images need to be 1 size or the site is going to look like a hot mess, imho. 900 pixels long edge and all three in one post. Feel free to add text to your posts. I'll probably add maybe what I used, what I was going for, a title per image, that kind of thing.

  8. Crazy - yup, just upload your photos (or insert links if you host offsite) directly into a new post. On the side somewhere there should be an option to schedule the post for display and this should be 15 January :)
  9. We are live! Our Photo 2013 I'm still missing photos from two of you so please get them to me ASAP so I can update - if you've sent them but they aren't up, please resend as I didn't get them. [email protected] The template needs some tweaking so we have a larger display area. If anyone is good at this kind of thing, let me know as I'm not but I will attempt it. If left to my own devices, I'll try to make that change and then leave pretty much the rest as is but if someone wants to make it more dynamic, have at it!   10. Wish we would have take more photos but it just didn't happen. All I have is one terrible shot from a little compact perched on a bit of tupperware :D - shame coz I don't dress up very often LOL

  13. OK, it looks like we have 12 so far so we have ONE more space available. I need your emails with your photos (of you!) today ASAP please as I hope to have time to get it done (famous last words). Quickie summary that might help: - Each contributor commits to 26 themes - Each theme runs for 2 weeks - Each contributor posts THREE images per theme by the post date - Each photo should have a long side dimension of 900 pixels - Photos for each theme must be new photos - no dredging the archives ;) - Each contributor will choose 2 themes during the year Our first theme is A BIT OF MAGIC. Shooting can be from 01 January - 14 January. Each of us will have author rights on the blog so you'll log in and post there. Posts need to be set to display on either the 14th or 15th of January only.
  14. Yup, it's three images PER THEME - so three per fortnight. Part of the challenge is to be able to cull down images and to explore an idea whether with a series or a variety of takes on it, if that makes sense. I know, A Bit of Magic is going to test me right out of the gate, too. My brain isn't firing very lately! But awesome way to get us going.

  16. ROFL - that's what I get for "thinking" with no sleep for a week!! I guess we should limit to 13 then TWO choices per person. Wow, you pick some hard ones!! Let's start with A BIT OF MAGIC. Three photos (part of the challenge is selecting a finite number of images each theme) up on the blog 15 January 2013. Once we get everyone on the author's list, pretty much all communication will be via email/the blog, I expect.

I think we should do it this way...each person gets to pick two themes during the year (hence the 13 - if we come up short, we'll take a vote or something for the final themes). We can use the ideas floated here or come up with something completely different. Since Larissa was the first to jump on, I say we let her choose the first one :) Edited because I am clearly brain-dead and should never be allowed to be in charge LOL

  19. Late to this thread but here's a couple of ideas from me. Snapfish - I haven't had one done in a few years but the colours were spot on, the finishing was OK, print was sharp/how it was meant to look and the colours have lasted very very well (except the blues on one that was subject to quite a bit of light). BrilliantPrints - have used them a lot and fantastic customer service & shipping, every one has been perfect bar my very first one and they immediately printed and shipped a replacement out. By "immediately" I mean that afternoon - no charge at all, no hassle. Genius Print - used them once. It was a total nightmare. This was several years ago so things might have changed, but I'm "once bitten..."
  20. Excellent! As I was setting things up this morning the name thing was a pain so I made a unilateral decision and named it Our Photo 2013. The blogger address is ourphoto2013.blogspot.com Hope that works OK for everyone :) When you email me your picture please also include the email you want to use - I have to "add authors" by email address it looks like. I created a new one in gmail just for this adventure so whatever one you want to use is fine - I think it's mostly just so you can access and post.

  22. OK! Let's get rolling as the new year will be upon us soon :) In no particular order, things we need to address: - ideas for themes. We really need to pick one ASAP so we can get started thinking. - need a list of those who will commit to the project and these will be regular posters (once a fortnight). We should have a photo of each person to include in the About section of the blog. I'm happy to be the one to put that part together, so please send me a photo sized for web (900 longest side works great) -> [email protected] - I'll create a blog later today on blogger and figure out how to add each person so you can post directly - anyone who would like to contribute but will not commit to doing it for the year, let me know, as I think we could have guest bloggers for each theme, too - first theme will run from 01 Jan to 14 Jan with posts needing to by up by 15 Jan. We want to post more or less at the same time.   23. Yay!! Anyone else? @piper - that's what I think, too. Two weeks for each theme and not having to think of things individually every time just feels like a lighter, more workable load to me. I also like the prospect that someone will think of something I'd never considered!
