Only went back two pages this morning as I have a monster headache... evolving - what is that for dinner? Sucks about your camera, but you can go shopping now! weibritty - thanks, glad you liked it! That cliffside is really neat TN - I am really liking your different self portraits. SnBoy - cool lamington cake. Yummm, sugar! CD - awesome to have that chalkboard for the kids! Helen - love that shot! anniek - what a tiny church! Day 25 - Harry Canon 1DIII, Canon 135L f2.0, ISO 100, 1/1000, f2 grrr wtf is up with embedding? they look like crap. the full size looks a little better when you click, but I hate clicking! -

Luminous Landscapes Bokeh article -> for those who aren't quite sure and want to know a little more. Luminous Landscapes -> for those interested in the techy stuff There are zillions of other links and there is a lot of confusion and disagreement on what bokeh is, exactly Look forward to this thread!

Day 24 - weeds in my backyard Canon 1DIII, Canon 135L f2.0, ISO 100, 1/1000, f2 -
I love my baby Canon 1200SD IS. Total opposite of my dslr. The 1200 has no manual features, is super tiny & lightweight and just perfect for my go everywhere all the time camera. You can check out my personal blog as most of the images from Oct, Nov and December are with it. I ordered mine from the US and it was here in like 6 days. It was FAR cheaper even with shipping from the US than anything I found in Australia. Not sure if you want to go that stripped down but for your budget it should be a contender. Oh, and step away from the MPs - they are NOT an indicator of a good camera Some of the best compacts right now have the current models with lower MPs but better sensors. It's better to have fewer on a better or same size sensor than more crammed in there.

Why would you want to?! I'm betting you earned them and that (at least) some of them add some character I personally detest the overly smoothed, air-brushed all to hell faces so many photographers seem to crave outputting. I say wear your face with pride! -
I like them - very cute, something different, people oooo and aaahh over them, they like picking different ones to take. Quality was good. Fun cards. If you don't like the little ones, they now have bigger ones that are cool, too.

That sucks Both hubby and I have gotten the free sample before but it was ages ago.
-
tlc - are you using lightroom? If so, either use the brush to bring down teh contrast (and maybe the saturation) of the blues a tad or go to the blue sliders and have a little play. That background is a little wild I do like the doggie in your edit so I'd mask around him if I used the brush.

MCP Actions Blog has a link to a newly released book that should be right up the alley of those who aren't sure what all those bits and pieces mean when we're talking camera gear: ISO, aperture, shutter speed, depth of field... Looks like a good resource and there's a special offer right now, too.
-
tlc - that is some scary coloured sky and water in the first two! Makes doggie look superimposed

Has anyone else noticed how beautiful so many DOLers are? I've been meaning to comment on that after every one of TNs posts and Ash's reminded me again. <sigh> jealous! -
Canon lenses have international warranties. Canon bodies have warranties in the country of purchase. dwi is a popular place to buy from the canon 100 2.8 macro ROCKS
-
Sorry, only read the quote! Have fun!
-
That is the body only so you need to price up the lenses you want and add it. Dunno if it's a good deal in the end as I don't watch Nik prices

huga - A-dorable!

LOL for the record, not all photographers use 2:3 ratios either I love the Moo cards - very individual, nice quality, super fun and you can have like 100 different shots or just a few or just one. And easy to change next time. Sigh, I really need to get working on my own cards as I detest my current ones...
