  2. We don't have one of these threads, it's blowing a huge gale here so I'm trapped inside and I just did a couple BWs that I like so I figured now was a good time to start one! Straight black & white or toned, they are all welcome here Lobo Done in Lightroom with my own custom preset Dora Done in Lightroom with my own custom preset Please share, I'd hate to be in here all by myself!
  3. flaves, you got a time machine?! Hehehe it's only week 27 of the year :D
  4. Awww, love the sooky greyhound, the rugged up pups in their footie scarves, Echo the beautiful and the awesomely backlit caterpillar (I know I forgot some but my browser won't let me go back now for some reason)!! 27/52 Harry gives Dora a kiss
  5. People will adapt or die. This is the same thing that was said about digitial. And about consumer cameras before digital. I think half the fun is getting my equipment to do what I want it to do, but I know not everyone is interested in the process.
  6. OK, deleting the files isn't going to help you You need to extract them all and then open the containing folder. Click PhotoRec.exe to run it - it opens a black & white DOS screen Choose your drive -if you don't see the letter, you will be able to tell by the size listed. Mostly it should detect what it needs to do, I choose the first in the list, I think it's like "Intel" or something when it asks about partitions. Then I choose "Whole" It will bring up a screen with places it is going to save the files. I just let it do it to the default folder. Hit C and bada bing off it goes. I'm recovering one right now, actually. I may have forgotten a step or two, but again, I usually just click whatever it chooses as the default anyway. Good luck.
  7. I don't know if you can use a second one but you don't have anything to lose. I think it's totally worth figuring out how to use PhotoRec - it's been amazing for me. It's not that tricky, just a little daunting. As I recall most of the options that come up are the correct ones by default - it's just choosing the right drive where the card is that can be a little confusing, I think, but you should be able to tell by the size and other indicators if it's not coming up with the drive letter you recognize. There may be a tutorial somewhere or if I have time on the weekend I can try to talk you through it.
  8. hmmm, I guess my Cat Lady Week continues... 188/365 - Lobo behind bars
  9. 187/365 - head bumping cuddles from Harry
  10. Don't screw with copyright, it's ridiculous. Just keep it. Grant the licensing rights so she can print or whatever from the disk. You retain copyright. Easy and straightforward and everyone has what they need to get on with things.
  11. See, I'd go in it like I was serious and charge accordingly. You'll find something that works for you, I'm sure
  12. How much would you expect to charge for a print on red bubble? Charge at least that per image you put on the disk. As to burning a disk, you should have some sort of disk burning software (nero or the like) on your computer. I think there are ones that come with the computer (both windows and mac) but I've never used them. Assume they are easy. Or ask her for a usb stick instead.
  13. OMG WANT!!! Look at dey little butt!! I never could have given them back!
  14. Looks good. If your monitor is showing that as dark, you desperately need to calibrate!!
  15. 186/365 - my office buddies
  16. That sucks As for recommending a new lens, if your original one was doing what you needed to do, get another. If you want to change it up, you'll need to give us some idea of what you like to shoot as there are about a zillion options out there! You can take your body to a camera store and test a couple of lenses to make sure the body is performing like it should. At least you'll know if you need to send it in for service.
  17. tlc - ominous sky for sure! 185/365 - hibernating essentials It was cold, crappy, rainy and bone chilling today and all I wanted to do was curl up in my blankie and not come out 'til summer!
  18. I'm not a chicken fan anyway, but jeez that one looks fierce and not a little possessed Looks like you're going to love the new toy, too!
  19. I don't think I've bought anything this year. Except for new dome port for my underwater housing. What do they say? If it's under a grand, it doesn't count
