OMG amazing diving the past few days! So much activity, so many critters, so many awesome experiences. I haven't had time or energy to go through many photos yet, so I'll be adding to this thread as I get time. Hope you enjoy :) Olive sea snake Threadfin pearl perch Canon 40D, Tokina 10-17 + Kenko 1.4TC, Subal housing, mini-dome port, 2 x Inon strobes

Thanks, Evovling! Had two freakin' awesome dives yesterday - so awesome!! Spent 70 minutes cuddling a green turtle who wouldn't let me leave her alone. Magic. Took a self-portrait with the Panasonic TS3:

kirislin - looks like the bent dorsal is a relatively new id marker, which makes life so much easier! We always say we like big scars or bits missing & bent!! molly - I hopped on my old shop's boat for the day but we also go out privately :)

Two awesome dives today. First time shooting my 60mm macro in over 14 months, I think! Here's a cutie eel

Hope things come together. Got a one line email from the vet that some guy has put the pup on hold. No other information, no details on when the guy will take Puppy, no response to my email asking. Hopefully soon :) Oh and fwiw - cost of living & doing business (including housing/business property) here is extremely stupidly high. But the fees they're claiming for a rescue on the vax, desexing etc are retail rates, not rescue rates. I'm not impressed at all about a number of things, but I'm glad it looks like someone has finally pushed through to give this guy a forever home!

Had huge swims yesterday - he's so cute! I think he's been adopted. I got a one line email from the vet yesterday saying some guy has "put him on hold" - so I'm hoping that all comes together

another happy snappy Looks like the Ecocean ID library says this guy has been sighted here since 2007! Love the photo ID library!!

I had no idea they would do that. Never had one do anything but hide deeper in his hole! I assume he swam at me and rammed me with head or body full speed but I didn't see the hit. Just felt it!

Here's a frame I took from a video clip. Shot this yesterday while snorkeling after playing with the whale sharks. Not too shabby for a baby camera film clip still, I think hmm, something weird has happened to it posting here...

Of 2012 :) And actually I think this was the 2nd one :D Photo conditions were not great despite lovely blue and clear water. So many floaties (food) and jellies that it was like having a million twinkle lights going. But it was a great day out. Swam with three whale sharks multiple times, saw dolphins and dugongs, lots of turtles, reef sharks, and two nice long reef snorkels. Didn't even bother taking my Big Girl Camera as I knew the conditions were going to be <meh> at best for photos, so just tonked along with the Panasonic TS3. Was so tired when I got back last night I haven't really looked at the photos, though know there aren't many "keepers" as I only shot a few frames. Here's one I've grabbed to share:

Latest email from the vet (actually the vet nurse who I vented about in OT recently) - seems like she's doing all the work here again. Not even coherent, really. sigh.

A little vent. I don't feel the vet has been doing anything to get this puppy a forever home. I'm the one making sure there is a notice going out in our daily local email, I'm sending the vet photos and updates so they can give it to their clients and get it out on flyers/emails/facebook etc - none of which they've done, I'm fielding email enquiries then passing them on and I get one back from the vet asking ME to email the people and ask for their phone numbers?! I sent an email Thur/Fri with more info and asking some questions and suggesting things they could also do and it's been totally ignored. I just got an email all chipper saying they've dropped the price to only $500! That's freakin' crazy. And I know when I was in there originally the vet said they usually sent them out at $350 or $450 (I honestly can't remember BUT both of those are lower than the new reduced price). No wonder people aren't lining up to take this little guy. I know it costs them money to do the neutering and vax and food and stuff but jeesh, the point is to get the dog into a home. And frankly, they'll make it back here about 100 times over if the dog ever needs the vet since they're so crazily overpriced. Grrrr!
