  1. @Kirislin - now I see a very noticeable harsh line at the front of the bike, back of rider & seat and to a lesser extent on the back tire. Also the white line on the pavement is all funky.
  2. In the meantime, just tag the title of the post with C&C - I think he'll be more inclined to add another subforum if there's a strong showing of need over a period of time.
  3. +1 on the halo. otherwise it's a pretty nice edit :) I think it's going to get confusing if we put multiple images in a single thread. Perhaps start a new thread with C&C Title? Each image and poster deserves to get dedicated time & attention, I think.
  4. Yes, that's true about the loss of detail, but does it detract from the edited versions for you? For me, to have too much detail wouldn't be holding true to the processing feel, which is a much softer day at the beach feel than the original which is pretty stark. Loving the way this is helping us look at photos and our choices already :)
  5. Awesome to see a C&C area :) Post is such a subjective process that not everyone is going to like everything, so before we get started please, Everyone, keep that in mind when others comment about your post style on a photograph - just because someone doesn't like it doesn't mean that YOU can't @Crazy - so brave to get things started! Here's my two cents: - the crop is great - I like both edits but I slightly prefer 2 because it gives more of a happy sun dog feeling for me. - you captured a great expression on doggies face and the lifted front leg adds a sense of happy motion - nice depth of field - next time I'd try to get the framing in camera closer to what I wanted as a final image and I'd try to get the whole shadow of the dog, especially if it looked like the dog and not just a black shape :) HTH
  6. I love the colours - looks like a great trip!
  7. More - the little ones are getting brave again and I was able to crawl right up to one before Lobo came to see what I was doing. Lizard was not super happy about the cat! I think he has a cheeky smile here And one of the bigger guys
  8. @Monet - you're very welcome & thanks! @CC - thank you, too! I'm hoping to keep adding more photos :)
  9. I use photobucket with no problems, fwiw.
  10. Awww love interspecies head bumpies!
  11. Thank you, Everyone - you're all too kind! Another pose
  12. pixie - great shot of the dogs on the couches! annie - glad to hear Cowboy is on the mend. Love the first shot :) I had a tough time choosing what to share in this thread this week but since I've got the Birdies thread and the Underwater thread I thought I'd throw in something that I haven't put in those 19/52 - MatlidaLily laying in the sun giving me the sookie face
  13. @monet - just a little clarity slider and +.33 exposure. I actually toned down the colours (yellow stuff & background) on this one a bit as they were simply overwhelming (saturation with brush -.85) two more from yesterday's dives: Clarkii peeking out Bubble coral shrimp
  14. Yay a new toy! Looks like you're loving it already Not too dark on my monitor. Love your black & whites.
  15. Thanks, Frodo's & Monet!! Just coz you guys rock a sneak peek at one from today's dives before I dash out the door
  16. @monet - hehe, he's only a few cms long, don't think he's that scary LOL Thanks for liking him despite the ick/fear factor :) @Kuma - thanks!! A fish Duo of porcelain crabs feeding
  17. LOL sorry - nothing to see here. hey! Look over there - it's a thread with no temptation!!
  18. I agree the f4 Canon 70-200 is a rockin' lens! Personally I wouldn't give up the 2.8 or the IS but that f4 is SWEET! I would also NOT sell my 70-200 just because I had the 100-400. They are very different beasts and imho a kit needs both.
  19. One of the surprises I got today - was just swimming along heading for the mooring, not thinking about photos at all, had whatever settings were on the camera from the last shots and all of a sudden this guy is right in front of my eyes. I whip the camera up and get two reasonable frames - good thing it was a suitable subject! Flying flatworm
  20. @Rainy - thank you very much :) Today had two AWESOME dives again. On dive 2 my cuddle buddy was back for more and kept head bumping - I had to hold her back gently coz turtle heads are hard when they bump the bridge of your nose! I'll get to some "real" images and a cool video sometime this weekend, I think...
  21. @12mm you'll probably have distortion, but not so much at 24mm. Just be careful with your edges and making sure your camera is flat to the focus plane. For more tips maybe try google - seems there's tons of great videos that show things in action, so there's probably one for shooting groups with a wide lens, too! LOL Greg - it's almost never-ending :)
  22. now that's a hole! I get such joy from my doggies on the beach - looks like your lot are loving it, too!
  23. I've had very good luck with snapfish - I've had canvas and prints done. Canvas has held it's colour in the right conditions (sunlight = bad) and all of my prints still look fine a couple of years down the track.
  24. 30 1.4 if low light is an issue. 17-70 if you want flexibility. Unfortunately, you have to choose a bit ;) But why do you want something wider if you have the 12-24 - that should be plenty wide!
