  1. There has been some absolutely fantastic progress from you Ladies and your gorgeous dogs. It is so encouraging to read and also exciting. A huge pat on the back for all your work and persistence. I have been flat out with a new job, so no trialling and very little training in this house over the last few months. But we had a major major win with Dee. We visited the kids/grandkids/grandpuppies in Canberra at the beginning of October and Dee coped brilliantly. Did not eat the puppy Ebony, who is an 8 week old black Lab, even though she was chewing Dee's tail, jumping up at her face and barking at her. She was great with Sasha, 9 year old black Lab, and would discretely move away when Sasha came close, after I told her off for a sneaky snap as Sasha went past. They went for walks (Dee on lead, Sasha off lead with Zeph) in close proximity to each other. They were both off lead in the house with the kids and Dee was respectful. No pre-emptive snapping, or lunging with Sasha or prey drive around the puppy. Confident around new people. I could not have been more rapt or prouder. Yes, she was carefully managed. All introductions with Dee on lead first, with the lead removed when all concerned were calm. Plenty of treats and rewards. Five days of fantastic dog interactions. I couldn't have wished for better. I suspect that Dee was so well behaved because they were both black Labs and not light coloured dogs.
  2. Having black double coated dogs, we love to walk in the morning. Being a giant sook, I hate walking in the evening on hot days because I get eaten alive by the mosquitoes. So we will play in the clam shell pools and with the sprinklers in the late afternoon, early evening. I will not walk them above 30 degrees, because Zeph is all muscle and does not stop. He will overheat. Dee is a lot more sensible, or is that just plain lazy. I am in two minds over that one. They both love to swim, so places with running water are priority in summer. I swear Zeph is part water diviner. He can find cool wet anywhere. And it doesn't have to be clean.
  3. Go Snook and Justice. Things are moving in the right direction. Absolutely wonderful to see. Well done Thistle being willing to explore and enjoy a new place. Kepala is brilliant. My guys love it, especially the lagoon pool.
  4. teekay he certainly does love water, as do his brothers and sister.
  5. denali your guys have the most endearing and captivating personalities.
  6. He is going to be a worker and a keeper that is for sure. :D
  7. It is so easy to fall in love with Don over and over again.
  8. The antics of Smoke are absolutely hilarious and totally captivating. He is such a stunner. Definitely improves with age.
  9. I was finally able to get the camera out of hibernation and took the dogs to the pool yesterday. Here are two photos of Zeph doing his best super hero impressions.
  10. Such great photos of vastly diverse subjects, with amazing colour and definition. Absolutely brilliant.
  11. Oh Jules I was thinking pyo as well, so bugger that the liver shunt is the cause. I really hope that it is just an imbalance that needs tweaking and that Amber will be back to her happy active self very soon.
  12. I know right! Someone give me back my little chubba puppa :) I think that they tweaked the attitude gene though, so maybe it is Blaze after a 12wbt course
  13. Somebody stole Blaze and gave you a Wisdom clone instead
  14. Such a brilliant up date. The best out come ever. I am rapt for you and Justice. And blinkblink, you are contributing to Justice's continued well being, by being another person that he can trust and rely on to keep him safe and calm. That is so very important to an anxious dog.
  15. Oh Snook I have everything crossed that Justice's increasing anxiety is due to a side effect the prozac and that you are able to find another drug that helps him very soon. Gentle tummy rubs to the big boofa and reassuring hugs to you
  16. That look on your face during your recall. I know that look so well I also know the jarring feeling of a dog coming in full flight on a recall. I instinctively bend my knees now. And what a fantastic place to track. Brilliant effort.
  17. Well done Thistle. Excellent work remaining calm with all the activity around you.
  18. Go Jake. That is a brilliant report card from your Mum. So very happy that you are enjoying life with your devoted Mum. Keep going my man.
  19. I am rapt that you gave it a go and that Willow completed some great work. Such a brilliant start to your Dog Sport journey. The best thing is that you both came away from it with some new skills and knowledge, and that you are both happy and enthusiastic. A huge effort.
  20. A belated, but very Happy Gotcha Day to you young Stan. I hope that both the fridge and the cupboards were full of yummy food when you opened them.
  21. That is absolutely gorgeous TSD. Even the cat wants to have a go Lablover I am certain that is what the Rotty version would look like at about 6 weeks old, if not sooner
  22. Well hello handsome A huge win with Justice this morning, Snook. I am rapt. Why do I think he is conning you to a degree. Cheeky bugger. Can you determine if there is a difference in shaking in anticipation, and shaking due to stress?
  23. It is so hard to remember to acknowledge the other handler when you are dealing with your dog. Well done Jemmy. I usually remember 5 minutes later, when they are well and truly gone
