Embarassing Dog Christmas Outfits

Thistle looks very cute and rather proud of her bandana. I hear you regarding sizing. Zeph and Dee don't even fit into a kids size 16, hence he is an elf wearing a muscle T shirt  -

Do you know I had never noticed Zig's photo bombing effort  Poor Emma, I would be giving the youngster away as well, but what a brilliant photo

There's the handsome lad, one of the cutest scruffers around. I totally agree with this. And he goes to some of the most stunning places as well.

Zeph says Hi Caz And thank you.

I have so many favourites. So many............... Definitely love Stan and Maddie. What a team they are. Love the adventures of the goofy Fratboy. Always up to mischief. I cannot resist a Don or Smoke story, and Don's eyes. OMG dreamy Daisy. Who cannot adore a doughnut loving Beagle. And the amazingly photographic Justice, Gruff and Jake. And the grace and athleticism of Neko. And Huga's Sid. For a little dog he has heaps of personality and patience

I am definitely making a snuffle mat. Dee will love it. Zeph will pick it up, give it a good shake to get the food out, then proceed to chew each of the bits of material off.

and a we only have a couple hundred sheep at present - but next week we are selling everything but a couple of dozen breeding ewes and their lambs .The first time in many years we have had to sell off sheep ... I was always proud that our sheep were born here, and , unless eaten by us , they would die here , in their own patch .... No , they are not pets - but I am dreading the day when they will be made to clamber onto the truck :( apologies ... but it is to combat these down times that I focus on the quirky, and the fun ... (literally focus ;) ) Pers would a feed or hay drive help out? And never apologise for your sense of humour or coping mechanisms.

Yes, the harsh reality of bush living is difficult. Dust, flies, isolation, drought, death of livestock, distance required to travel anywhere, lack of provisions and the bloody hard work required just to earn a living. But for some reason I am drawn to the space, the peace, the magical moments created by the wildlife and the dogs, the proximity to the river, the opportunity/necessity to think laterally and problem solve. I know it is not easy, but prefer the country to the city.

That is so very cool. It is for this reason that PJs should have pockets, so at least you have your phone camera on you when drinking the morning coffee on the veranda. Pers your place always sounds amazing. Even when at it's driest during summer.

More than 10% raspberry juice works for humans and dogs with digestive/bowel upsets. It is used in children's hospitals. -

Woo hoo. Go Justice and Snook. Absolutely brilliant news. Justice is becoming more and more resilient. I am thrilled for you both. Oh Ness, how awful for you and Kenz. So not what the both of you needed. I totally understand your devastation. It will take a lot of time and patience to get over the hyper vigilance, but you will get there. It took lots of treats and constant watching and a huge respect for her critical distance to get Dee to relax again on our walks. It also helped to go to areas that had a little chance of off leash dogs being around. I wish you lots of success and I am rapt that Lira does not appear affected. -

Oh, I totally agree about all "friendly dog owners" having to manage a reactive dog so that they gain some insight into the damage that non controlled encounters can do. Similar to those going for their car licence spending time in trucks to gain an appreciation of the stopping distance. That being said, I do believe that reactive dogs provide us with a much better understanding of dogs and their behaviour, and I am certain that we have a much stronger bond with them as a result, than if we owned much easier, cruisier dogs. I think that our achievements, no matter how small, have greater significance to us due to our starting point. So, a huge congratulations to all owners of difficult dogs. Your achievements are amazing. PS good luck with the increased dose of Paroxetine. May Justice be a little more zen with the world, so that he can enjoy it's wonder. -

Oh crap Snook. That is really disheartening to deal with, but as the other girls have said he tends to gain his confidence quicker each time. And with the first encroachment by the whippets he hardly missed a beat. So there is learning happening and resilience being built. Please don't loose heart. You and Justice will amble together again. I have every faith in the both of you. -

Oh crap Snook that just sucks big time. After all the work and progress you and Justice have made. However, he did recover beautifully after the first approach, which is a major improvement. Hopefully, even though he shut down after the second approach, he remembers the first one and his previous counter conditioning, and even though he may be a bit wary, he has the most amazing positive time with Pax on Monday. Huge hugs and lots of belly rubs for Justice. -
I am a long term member of the Rottweiler Club of Victoria. I believe that they are important in promoting the breed in a responsible manner, to the public and the government. I believe that they are important in protecting the health and welfare of the breed, through the enforcement of health testing and the recording of pedigree information. I think that, along with reputable breeders, they are an important source of breed specific information. However, their importance is being diluted by the amount of puppies being bred by non-member breeders. The amount of non-member Rottweiler owners out there is increasing quicker than the number of RCV member dog owners. The RCV also runs obedience training and trials, which I think is extremely important and enjoyable. I am also a member of the Newfoundland Club of Victoria. I participate in water rescue and carting activities organised by this club with my Rottweilers. The RCV does not run these kinds of events.

Yes, it appears that she has a definite colour and a size preference. At water training she is great around the Newfies, even brown ones, and she seems calm and practices avoidance around them and black dogs. Smaller white or cream dogs and she is on the defensive. Dogs that bark or have a go at her and she is off the scale. I used to think that it was a sex preference, liked males not females, but it appears that size and colour are bigger triggers. -
Love your work Jake.
