update: she has not pooped at all today.. it is now 7:30 at night. I have rung the vet to see if i should stop the scourban (maybe now it is too much scourban). The vet said 1ml twice a day. Baci is only 1kg. the vet said it is fine. She might not have any poos left in her system to poop out. I should wait till tomorrow afternoon and see if she has pooped. But to continue the chicken and rice with scourban. If she does not poop till tomorrow afternoon then i need to bring her back in for a check. She is still happy and jumping around, drinking heaps and as soon as she started the scourban she is a peeing machine!! will keep you all posted when the poops comes

hi uncond'love, thanks for the support i really need it especially with such a young puppy every little small thing makes me worry. yes the vet is great and very supportive when i ring up and ask millions of questions Great to hear that i am doing the right thing for her

hmm.. yes that does sound like a pretty bad virus.. mine poops extremely stink poos but she is still happy and jumping around The vet said seeing blood in poos are not as bad as humans. A little blood is fine but as long as it is not long term. She has only pooped blood once (friday) every other time is diarrhea. fingers crossed when i get home i see firm stool!

oww.. that is scary... do you know the symptoms? i have not taken her out at all. not even the backyard.. but that does not mean she cannot catch it. I am monitoring her now. She is very happy and not sluggish which gives me some kind of relief.

Ok.. here is the update: Friday night.. she pooped with a bit of blood.. I totally freaked out Rung medical emergency and they advised to watch her for 24hrs before taking her in. Ruled out Parvo. Told me to stop puppy food and change to chicken and rice Sat morning: stool was firmer (but not 100%) Rung the vet and asked if i should come in.. they advised to watch her for anotehr 24hrs Sun day: Morning - stool was the same (firmer but not 100%). Sun afternoon.. stool went back to diarrhea. I took her to the vet. The vet advised it is extremely common in puppies to have diarrhea. As long as she is not vomiting, lathargic and sluggish then it is a good sign. The vet advised to continue with chicken and rice and they gave me Scourban to add in her food. (no idea what is scourban). Vet said to watch her, if she has not stopped diarrhea by wednesday then bring her back in Sun night: She still has not pooped Monday morning: not sign of poop But she is peeing heaps now. Will check on her poop when i get home today and keep you all posted.

Yes the puppy is 8 weeks old. I got it from a registered breeder and the vet card showed 8weeks. I am in sydney. I wonder it might be the boiled chicken that might not be fresh and she is sensitive to it. From the 1st day i got her home (sat - tuesday) she was fine with soaked euk and her shits were normal. Only Wednesday she starting diarrhea

Hi there the puppy is 8weeks old. She has been vaccinate with a C3 and due for a C5 when she is 10-12weeks. She is also on worming too. Her gums are pink when just looking at them. When i press her gums they turn white, then back to pink when i let go. She cannot CHEW... when i took her home when she was 8 weeks old. Her puppy teeth has not fully grown. The bottom front was not even showing yet and on the sides some of the teeth were only just showing and others fully grown. I tried fed her puppy eukanuba (dried - not soaked) and she tried to eat it but could not chew. She could only lick it into her mouth and roll it around then spat it back out. Once i soaked it, she then could lick it into her mouth. Her diet has been from raw meat from the breeder. When i took her home i fed her euk + boiled chicken mixed. Then changed her diet to euk + chicken broth mix on Thursday night. But she was already diarrheaing on wed day time while i was not home

I have a similar problem with my puppy and need advice I have just taken home a maltese puppy 8wks old. (on Sat) Weighing just 1kg. The breeder was feeding her raw meat. I changed her diet to puppy eukanuba. I had to soften it with water because not all her puppy teeth has grown and she cannot chew. I add cooked chicken to the euk so it is a little more tastier for her. For the first few days, she was not really interested in the euk, but gradually eats to her required daily intake (as long as there is cooked chicken in it) Sat - Tues: her poop was fine. normal and doing 2 shits a day. With the same diet Wed: Same diet. My first day back to work. So she is alone. (i was aware she might be in shock, so a fews days before wed, i had left home for fews hrs then come home. Every time i left the house it was for a little longer period. Hoping she will get used to the idea and i will eventually come home to her) anyways.. i came home after work with a diarrhea puppy. Her stool is like chocolate pudding (sorry for the description). I had changed no diet on wednesday. Only diff is me working and she is home for longer hrs. She is also teething. Her front puppy teeth is starting to protude. Thurs: Changed her diet. (from soaked euk + cooked chicken meat to soaked euk + dash of chicken broth). She is still diarrhea. Same choco pudd like. :D Ohh.. she is still the same temperment.. loving to bite my fingers, toes and shoes.. She is drinking more water which is cos of the diarrhea. She is still eating and cleans her bowl. Fri: This morning, she still has diarrhea. I am worried about her being dehydrated. So i pressed her gums last night and it goes from white to pink. When do i seriously start panicking and take her to the vet? i am assuming she is diarrhea either cos she is teething her puppy teeth or cos of the change of me working now sorry for the long winded story.. thought every little helps to identify what is wrong with her

hi there.. i am new to this too i saw on a forum that ACV (apple cider vinegar) does the trick for shiny coats. It also does heaps of other things too.. it was a sticky forum

i have an 8week old maltese. I took her home 3 days ago and feeding her eukanuba puppy i thought puppy food was more nutritous for puppies so they will grow without nutrition issues. If i change her to 100% cooked chicken breast is that sufficient nutritions for a puppy? She loves the cooked chicken meat when i use it for training purposes. or should i mix it with the eukanuba kibble.. if so.. do i still stick the eukanuba feeding instructions which is 85g per day for the size of the dog? That means a total of 85g which is part kibble and part chicken meat.
