  1. One vote for indifferent. I tried it with Duke for a few months (3 of the 17kg bags) and it made no discernable difference to feeding him SuperCoat. Felt therefore it wasn't worth the money. I've evaluated the ingredients using the DogFoodProject criteria and it was quite good but corn based (looking at Giant Adult, Medium Puppy and Medium Active types).
  2. It's not in Brisbane, it's at Redcliffe. Here's a map of Redcliffe (the nationals are at the showgrounds). The rain is clearing today and tomorrow, with fine but cold and windy weather for the weekend (tops of 20-21 degrees). Jumper weather for locals but maybe not so bad fos those from down south. - Brisbane ForecastHope to meet some of you.
  3. You'd think so but try telling that to the club I started with. It was bloody awful and I think very deterimental to my dog.
  4. Yes, apparently that is quite common, but I have never experienced that either. I find that pretty interesting too...why would we synchronise like that? What messages does our body give to others' bodies, that tell them that we are menstruating, even though they don't consciously know? Sorry OT. I think it's pheromones that would do it. The same chemical kinda stuff that tells the boys when we're "ready". Probably an evolutionary thing so that the women in the "tribe" are all raising babies around the same time and can pool resources etc. Menstrual Synchrony Do the menstrual cycles of women living together tend to synchronize?
  5. I could kiss you S&T, that's great, thank you!
  6. Thanks PF, JB and Rugerfly. I've found one natural possibility: - Source
  7. Oh come on! I am so bored today, where is the mystery, where is the intrigue?! Someone entertain me!
  8. Don't seem to for Qld but why would they need to? The rule about frequency of breeding for bitches states (in Qld): If the bitch only comes in season every 12 months, then surely you couldn't get her to have more than two litters in 18 months even if you wanted to. Have I missed your point?
  9. I saw that too, that's what got me wondering what people are using.
  10. - WikipediaBodies are so interesting! :D
  11. It's not just anuses that have sphincters. At least stomachs and bladders do too. Me either, but it looks like I do now.
  12. Who has a bitch suffering from this and what meds is she on (how much, how often, cost etc pretty please)? Is there anything natural that could be tried first (given infection has been ruled out and kidney's are fine) to tighten the sphincter?
  13. Are you sure there are no places locally that sell it, to save you postage at all?
  14. What's reasonable? Natural Pet Store - $26 postage to Qld for 15-20kg order
  15. I believe sweepstakes (and the requirement to get a novice sweepstakes pass before competing in CD rings) in only a Qld thing.
  16. And if she's more inclined to bark at what she can't see but can hear, go for visibility. Helpful, yes?! I fixed my neighbours dog (who barked at anything it saw or heard in my yard) by placing black plastic along the fenceline. For him, he was barking because he heard a noise and then saw something. But my dogs are more inclined to bark when they can hear something but not see it to identify it. So the barking issue could be either way. As for boredom, IMO if you have enough to mentally and physically stimulate your dog within your yard, there is no reason to see the street. Especially if it's possible people may harass or feed the dog through the fence. You could also get in trouble from the council if the gate has gaps that are too large and passers-by feel "threatened".
  17. Good to know, I had thought it was. If you like. But if you actually wanted to know, then no, of course it's not that simple. And besides I said a "@$%##"
  18. Am I supposed to think that is a good thing? Because one of my favourite rants is about @$%##s who shave double coated breeds like the BC.
  19. That's the point for me though Monie, my dogs don't go to the groomers. The things I need the clippers for is not regular grooming - in fact it's not "grooming" at all - it's just a useful thing. I can use scissors to hack away the hair for any of the jobs I need clippers for, it's just that it's quicker, easier and looks nicer to shave with a set of clippers. But my "luxury" budget for this item does not even come close to what has been suggested.
  20. I can not justify $255 (the sale price ) on a set of clippers that would spend 99% of their time in the cupboard. Isn't there something that will work but not cost over $100? ETA: Probably, but they go blunt very quickly. :D I trim whiskers with scissors but if it's easier I'd use the clippers. Otherwise as I said, it's for very infrequent need to shave tummy hair of BC bitches or when a dog (rescue or the mob) gets a hotspot or a sore that needs the immediate area clipped to heal quicker.
  21. Tell me about it! All I want is something to replace the human set that I made blunt from using it on the dogs and it's all too hard. I know I don't want the "Pet Trimmer" set for $30 in BigW and that I am not a professional so I don't need to be spending hundreds of dollars but apart from that I've no idea. I just want the best value (quality for price) set of general use clippers. *scream!*
