  1. I had a nice surprise after my order - turns out I have spent enough to get a $10 voucher from the rewards system. So I went straight back on and bought some dog toys.
  2. Bummer I did it the other day but don't remember anything specific about how I did it.
  3. The site at least promotes getting a puppy from "your state's kennel association i.e. Dogs Vic" which was nice to see.
  4. It can be a sign of missing minerals in the diet. Is the mince you are feeding all meat (no bone)? If so, then I would be feeding more edible bones to balance the phosphorus and calcium she's getting. Things like chicken frames, lamb ribs, chicken/turkey wings etc.
  5. One of the pups from my first litter had very flat teeth by the time she was an adult (young teeth have softer enamel) and the vet said it was dirt getting into the ball. However, all my dogs are ball obsessed but none have any noticeable flattening of their teeth. Maybe I have different dirt or keep the ball cleaner but I have no problem with tennis balls. That said, rubber balls can be found fairly easily.
  6. Bopperoo's last quite a while at my place - this. Tuffy toys aren't strong enough for my guys, though they last a lot longer than regular plush toys.
  7. I'd be really disappointed with that situation too. First I'd be contacting DogsQld to make sure the person is a current registered breeder and check if the parents are main register dogs if you know their registered names (only registered dogs on the main register can have their pups registered). Next I'd ask the breeder to send you the cost of the vaccination you are going to have to get yourself now. I'm pretty sure you can threaten to report them to DogsQld if they aren't willing to give you the money as selling a unvaccinated pup is a breach of the rules. Relevant bit of rules: As said previously, it's not uncommon to be waiting a while after getting your pup from Qld breeder to get the papers. You should have been provided with information on what to feed and other basics from the breeder, did you get anything?
  8. For sure. ETA: Can anyone think of a dog basket that any human could actually sleep in?
  9. It costs $16.30 to transfer the LR papers to you from the breeder in WA. But I would be finding another breeder because they are even offering this no-papers dodgyness.
  10. I'd never buy a pedigree pup where I wasn't going to be supplied with the papers - I'd spend less money and get a rescue.
  11. I would listen to that advice........if you want to train Bubby and if you want to improve as a trainer FOR YOU, if you want to do it because of what someone else thinks then you need to question if you are doing it for the right reasons? My boy CK falls into this category - he is the quietest most laid back dog in the world. BUT as we work more and more he is really finding his Border Collieness and is starting to enjoy work more as well. IMO it's not about forcing a dog to do something they don't want to do, it's about finding a way to encourage them to enjoy it and working with them to maximise the potential that they do have. Having met CK - he is nothing like the type of dog I'm talking about when discussing mellow dogs.
  12. If you care what others think of you as a trainer, then I guess you should listen to that stuff. I don't care what anyone thinks (I'm the one who lives with them, it's my choice what I do or don't do with them) so pay no attention to that kind of statement.
  13. I don't see it as a cop out but as accepting that dog's personality and not forcing it to do things it doesn't enjoy.
  14. I think 2 is enough, 3 if you feel the ties may not have been long enough. 1-2 days apart depending on life. ETA: Whoops missed the litter size q. Litters of 8 and 5 - same routine both times but flights were tough to get so the second litter was a day or two later than ideal which is why I think the litter was different NOT how many matings. Let's face it, each drop of semen has more than enough wrigglers for any amount of eggs the bitch can release - it's all about timing as long as you get a successful mating IMO.
  15. I don't understand why it's been posted - is there something others should be doing?
  16. It could OG but they aren't very big, the nuisance people would need to come up to your front door to see it. I hear on the news a lot about firies going in after pets, so clearly they do it, I have a similar sticker up. ETA: In fact, in the US many fire trucks now carry special pet oxygen masks. ;)
  17. Me too but I have a heart dog. My partner has yet to have a heart dog; though he does have a current order of favourites, it changes and is more about recent behaviour than the dog's personality.
  18. Hard to say without a photo whether the swelling you are seeing is normal (from arousal) or something worse. Best book in to the vets anyway if he's been behaving abnormally.
  19. I'm aware it's probably a stupid thing to want but she's sensitive about her image for various reasons. I suggested she may prefer to put out disposable cameras and just have those images. Anyway, so I haven't gone too far off topic, here's a before and after. I so far only know how to use background delete. In the freebie Corel, is there a paintbrush tool that won't paint over a certain colour (so I can apply the green around the whispy fur)?
  20. I was concerned about offending people (I've seen the "discussions" here about editing!) and it doesn't seem to be something advertised on photographers websites. I'm helping a friend with her wedding plans and she really doesn't want anything changed in her photos; she wants the colour, light, lumps, bumps and everything to stay exactly as it was when the camera went click. So an enquiry of, "Will you take photos with zero editing?" will be clear enough?
  21. Is it possible to find a quality photographer who will take photos as is?
