  1. I get flea and worm treatment from Priceless Pets too and am happy with their service.
  2. For those that have used it, did you find it worked better than rescue remedy?

  5. He's a cutie! Does look heavier in the body. Well she was 5kg before Christmas, might be a more now after all those Christmas treats...
  6. Wow that was quick, thanks. Height 14 inches and weight 5kg.
  7. Just curious. We thought pap x, or perhaps sheltie x?
  8. I’m no expert but with Annie it's been about using her natural desires and channelling the drive into something more useful. So giving her an outlet for that drive. Annie has great drive but used to be obsessed with moving objects – animals, birds, bikes, cars etc – but now through drive training she gets drive satisfaction from her ball/toys instead. Still working on certain birds though lol...
  9. I’d be far too worried about the dog to even think about taking a photo. That is one lucky dog.
  10. I tried using the chicken dry food as treats but I kept finding sharp bits of what looked like claw.
  11. I've had a few JRT fosters and all have been VERY cuddly little boys.
  12. All of mine are rescue dogs and it doesn't bother me if people try to guess what breeds might be in them because I'm not sure either!
  13. Yes that's where I got my Superman tags from too.
  14. Yes agree, when pushed they are still focused mentally but are exhausted physically. When training I always stop before that point, so I don’t see the drop in drive then.
  15. Two of my dogs are well and truly ball-driven and there is no decrease in drive when working using a ball. For whatever reason the ball just works best for them.
  16. Yes it’s not a matter of simply throwing a ball – Steve showed me how I can use the ball in different ways to increase drive or get more control. I tried all kinds of toys and tugs but ended up with the ball as it works best for Annie.
  17. This is what I see in Annie when I train her in drive – that desperation, she would do absolutely anything to get the ball. The adrenalin is pumping and it takes all her effort to control herself and work before getting the reward. When she is working, it's only me, her and the ball - nothing else exists. For example we've just started recalls and she explodes out of the sit/drop position so fast that she comes barrelling into me (we’re working on that!). TID allows her to achieve a level of intensity that she otherwise wouldn’t. LOL I used to have the same problem! Love that enthusiasm!! And as far as problems go, it's a good one to have Absolutely - I'm just glad Annie is only 5kg so I've managed to stay on my feet
  18. I've read that too, but using balls as a reward is working well for my dogs.

Do you see many paps doing agility and flyball?
  21. A lovely lady who adopted one of my foster dogs knocked down a bedroom wall so she could fit a king size bed in the bedroom, just so her little dog could sleep on the bed too.
  22. I sometimes walk at a Peninsula golf course/park which is an on lead area but a lot of people have their dogs off lead. Lately there have been signs up reminding people that dogs should be on lead and spot checks by rangers. However the golf course is on a hill and the ranger is not too fit hence most people walk up the top… But I was talking to the ranger when she was doing the spot checks the other day and I had my dog on a 6m long lead. She commented about the lead being long but said nothing else.
  23. Agree with other people’s comments – it’s fantastic. Best thing I could do with my dogs. I spent ages on the first module because even though Annie had a high prey drive for birds and small creatures, she had no interest whatsoever in toys or balls. So it took months to build her drive for toys and then transfer it to something that could be used. Annie is only 5kg and we now use a small i-squeak ball. She lives for her training sessions.
  24. You can just email the PhD student and/or supervisors requesting further information - they'll be able to provide more information about research aims, methodology, expected outcomes etc.
