  1. Yes, the reach man. I think I'm still trying to work out how many dogs are actually in the photo...
  2. Actually your photo in another thread was the prompt to start this thread. Can't get a bigger smile than that. :D
  3. Baylee has three ears and two bodies.
  4. This is an old one of Annie, but you can tell by the eyes she is possessed.
  5. Gorgeous!! Here is another one...
  6. And I can understand why. OP, why don't you take your mother to meet some dogs first?
  7. A thread for doggy smiles. Here is one of my mine. Admittedly her smile is not quite as big as a photo in another thread. :D Do you have any photos of your dog smiling?
  8. My dogs are always in the backyard, never in the front yard even though it is fenced (I'm lucky to have a separate backyard). I don't walk around the streets here now, but when I did there were some dogs in front yards behind fences that bothered me, such as the American bulldog that broke through a gate a couple of times to attack another dog and to charge a woman walking past. So I'm a bit wary of walking past houses with dogs in front yards.
  9. My snooza cuddlers are a little flatter than they used to be too. The snooza jack's bed I have here hasn't squashed much at all, and also the sides are higher making it seem fluffier.
  10. This is the article in the local paper link. Just awful.
  11. Maybe because a lot of little dog owners, don't control their dogs because they are little. The problem is, if a little dog attacks, or harrasses a big dog & the big dog retaliates, it's always the big dog that gets blamed. The bolded part of your post, proves my point, just because they can't cause as much damage, doesn't mean they shouldn't be under control & not allowed to attack, growl at bigger dogs. Why is it always up to the big dog owner only, who should control their dogs. I don't think anyone has said that small dogs need not be under control (of course all dogs should be under control), rather that larger dogs obviously have the potential to do more damage and hence why people may be more wary of larger dogs off lead and not under control. Poor woman, and a devastating outcome.
  12. I haven't listened to it (and won't be listening to it tonight that's for sure!), but if it is people then I actually think you are very lucky to have heard it because now you can take precautions by changing locks etc. Who knows what could have happened if you hadn't!!
  13. The one I get is produced locally so I buy it from the local market. Otherwise the health food shop. The ones I've seen in the supermarket have a much lower UMF, 10+ compared to the 30+ one that I get.
  14. Poor little girl. Sorry I don't have any advice, other than what has already been suggested, but I hope you can find some answers.
  15. The tracking number is in the shipping email they send you Ok thanks. I was looking in my account on the website, but it just wasn't there.
  16. Sorry I know it's been posted before somewhere in here, but how do you check the tracking?
  17. No they can't be compared, which is why I have always fed my dogs meat. But even though I do believe in feeding meat to dogs (where possible), I'm not inclined to get up in arms about someone who chooses not to, simply because IMPO there are far worse things that can happen.
  18. Vegans and vegetarians get defensive because they get questioned and challenged constantly. And teased a lot. In the 20+ years I was a vego I didn't once tell someone that they shouldn't eat meat but had to deal with people constantly trying to trip me up. Did I use leather etc etc I wouldn't eat a humanely raised and killed cow. I feed meat to my dogs. And I fed meat to the hubby. A friend used to give me bones from her cows, humanely raised and killed. I struggled more feeding those bones than I did the ones from the supermarket. As I knew the cows. I was a vego because I am a sook though not because of any environmental issues. You are going to get different answers to your question depending on why the person is a vego/vegan. Agree with this! I've been vegetarian for 26 years and have had countless people who, for some reason or another, think it is their right to question or challenge my choice not to eat meat. Like you, not once have I attempted to force my views on to anyone else. Whether the next person chooses to eat meat or not is not my concern, and I have no interest in questioning others why they do eat meat. Those that choose not to eat certain foods should not be made to feel as if they need to justify their choice. Fortunately though it has become more accepted, compared to when I first became vegetarian, and I find not as many people question it now.
  19. Corvus could you (or anyone else that knows) please explain what stimulus control is, and what default behaviours are? Stimulus control: Behaviour only occurs when cued, basically. Default behaviour: This is a term Leslie McDevitt uses, I think. She uses it to describe a behaviour that is so strongly conditioned in so many contexts that it bypasses thinking a lot of the time and often the circumstances are the cue. For example, Erik has a really nice default down. If he wants something, he usually downs. If he's not sure what I want him to do, he downs. One time he got in a blue with another dog and when I got the opportunity I grabbed his harness and he automatically downed. I think it was in response to the combination of being pretty upset and feeling pressure on his harness. He was surprisingly solid there, though. The other dog was still at large and trying to come in for another round, but E just stayed in his down while I tried to fend it off or catch it. Thanks. :)
  20. I didn't know about these ones. Thanks, another one to add to the list.
  21. I've used it on the dogs for a mild cough, and I also have it myself for a sore throat or cough. I love it, and it seems to work really well.
  22. No, not much about dogs after all. Actually I didn't think it was as funny last night, depends a lot on the topic and guests.
  23. Corvus could you (or anyone else that knows) please explain what stimulus control is, and what default behaviours are?
  24. Alan Davies is great. He works well with Stephen Fry in this show.
