It is $55.00 for a 15kg bag Thanks for your very informative post on Super Premium dogfood and feeding John, refreshing to hear from someone that is totally across the subject. At $55 for a 15kg bag for such a good quality feed I'm sure it will find a niche in the "quality" dryfood market. As soon as I've used up my current supply of Eaglepack I'll most definately be giving it a try too!!!

While it is not acceptable as a main source of protein in a dog food (as it is used in combination with corn gluten), as a source of carbohydrates it is no better and no worse than other grains in terms of nutritional value and digestibility. The starch part of corn is highly digestible but the whole ground product has a higher fiber content than other grains (around 7%), which results in slightly larger stools - often incorrectly interpreted as lack of digestibility. Unless an individual dog is intolerant or allergic to corn, there is no need to avoid products which include it in reasonable amounts.

Anyone tried the new Australian produced Super Premium Dogfood XP3020??? Only new on the market but receiving good reviews from those that have given it a go apparently, selling for around $55 plus freight for 15kg bags so very reasonably priced in comparison to other Super Premium foods. The list of ingredients certainly stack up well too!! I bought a bag of Black Hawk for my greyhounds off Tim at Whitey's Petfood Ballarat a while back, like the formula, the only thing I didn't like about the product is the "ball bearing" size pellets, fine for small breeds but IMO larger pellet size would be better suited to greyhounds and larger breeds. Any thoughts on putting out an "ADULT" size kibble too for larger breeds????

Sherel, I was wondering if you know of any greyhound people/trainers have tried your product as a lot now feed the super premium kibbles to their racing stock......your product is far better price wise that is for certain.

As Lowenhart has indicated keep the nails short. Supplementing with Davis Gelatine [Available in Supermarkets], 1 teaspoon daily sprinkled in the food is often used by greyhound trainers for dogs with this problem. Greyhound trainers also often use SALLY HANSEN HARD AS NAILS [Chemists or Supermarkets] to "toughen" up their dogs nails, simply apply 2 or 3 coats to the nails weekly, really does help!! http://www.sallyhansen.com/product.cfm?product=233
