Have u tried a MARS coat stripper I have cockers & find it does a much better job ; but still have shedding coats;the mars stripper is not to be used every day though; it is for removing only the dead coat I find it much more efficent than ; the furminator &it will stop stripping when all dead coat is removed ;so you cant over do it!

a lot depends on the temprement of the dogs ; I have a few bitches & thankgoodness not to many fights ;i find the worst times are when they are due on heat; so if you are getting yours desexed (a wise move); you shouldnt have 2 many problems .the behavior your experiancing @ the moment is normal puppyPLAY; good luck your gonna be busy!

Cockerlover replied to MissMolly's topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
Good golly miss molly; dont worry it is perfectly normal (IN my experiance) for a bitch to remain swollen for a week or so afer a heat as long as there is no discharge & she is her normally self fear not! -

Congratulations AS others have said ;my advise is sart how you mean to go on from the moment you get pup home let it know you are the boss !be prepare for a sleepless night ;but dont keep returning to pup if it cries providing of corse that it dosnt need feeding or pee patrol;cause if you do it will very quickly get the message that i cry mum comes! good luck enjoy the most treasured gift youll ever have.

this is commonly known as the sinle puppy syndrome!!! I have hand reared 2 single pups from different litters & i hate to tell you they boh turned out to be real little bitches SPIOLT BRATS /SINGLE CHILD; they had an atitude holyer than though;! 1 ended up staying with me & her nickname was revhead !she went on to have a litter of her own;which i think helped her to learnl not to be so selfish ;it is such a shame to see them turn out this way; but they have no siblings or litter mates to learn with; all I can say is try to nip it in the bud or she will end up a bloody monster who will always want her own way cause she knows no difference!good luck

poor darlin! i personally wouldnt put anything on it ;that will incourage her to lick it off ; I have a bitch that has problems with her anul glands so i have to have them sqeezed every so often; but have never had an abcess; so cant advise further ;you know you can have the glands removed if the problem continues ;i would consult with your vet re this if the problem re occures
