  1. I wrote this little poem for mtd , As tragic as it all is,....we must all take flight ,& travel upon angel wings. whilst now I rest in peace, for loved ones left behind ,the raw pain, will gradually cease . You have shared your life, love & devotion with me .In the name of love ,you set me free. Our maker is kind & understands, for all of us ,there are some plans. You will still pat me ,with your loving hands . hold me deep within your heart, for we know, love can never tear us apart . Dry your eyes, wipe away the tear....,feel me near . I""ll never forget you mother so dear . I"ll wait for you ,till comes your time ,dont worry mum ,I"ll be fine . I will be here ,at the gates, My love, devotion & wagging tail awaits .
  2. They're very cute but I am a bit alarmed at just how bulging and bloated that single puppies stomach is. I am assuming he's just fed but it still looks incredibly bloated and red. He looks like he's about to pop. I hope he's OK. How's he going. have to add I also have conserns same as Krislin
  3. My heart goesout to you ,there is NOTHING worse than the feeling of helplessness during a seizure . unfortunatley there is little one can do except insure yr dog cant hurt itself, remove all objects nr to fitting place ,& comfort them when they come around . I used to give ice cream after an episode .& keep my boy quite .although the fitting always exauted him. make sure you keep records of evry fit ,duration of each & time ect . medication & tests can sometimes assist ,but is an ongoing process .Hugs to you & your baby .
  4. I have replyed in the health thread
  5. all sounds a bit suss to me ! no reputable breeder would let a puppy leave thier care ....IF there was kc in the kennel ; Kc incubates for some time b4 becoming obvious ,if that is what yr pup has , I would certainly be looking for another vet & presenting the vets bills to the so called breeder .
  6. beautiful shots ,well done ,thanx for sharing
  7. Hi Benny ,hugs 4 u ,Poor little duckies .
  8. Hi Sundays child , Have u checked the garden for wandering jew ?this can cause skin allergies. Also sardines EVERY day<Imo, is to much ,maybe just once a week Malasab shampoo, is good for allergies ,but what ever shampoo u r using make sure u rinse really well after use . u could try mather gardners wool mix with t tree oil, also good for bathing pups
  9. I feed my bitches a normal diet till approx 5 week stage ,which is dry kibble (proplan)vegies ,mince ,chicken frames ,necks & wings alternated daily . Then I increase the food intake ,changing to puppy formular kibble & all the above ,plus a little ox hert (cooked) for irion.towards the end of pregnancy.
  10. fly free little angel with all the other *special ones*,hugs 2u bJane05
  11. My heart goes out to you ,this is one of the hardest dessions one has to make as a breeder . from past experiances I have found the harder you struggle to keep pup alive ,the harder it is to give it its wings ,when the time enevitibly comes . I would be seaking guidence from yr past experiances (if you have had them)Or that of your vet . Mother nature knows best & sometimes we have to let our special babies go in the name of devotion & love .
  12. Sending healing vibes to u & yr girl . be brave ,trust & take one day @ a time
  13. I have a bitch here with dry eye ,that came on with age , she is treated twice daily with Optimmune ointment (i might add a exremly expensive way of keeping her comfortable ) I have tried cheaper versions to no avail. I would also be very gratefull for further advise ,but imo eye removl would be a drastic move .,it is a big commitment though to apply without fail every day & i find if i forget ,the eyes certainly look a lot worse .
  14. 1. What is my relationship with the breed? (ie breeder, first time owner etc) Breeder of 14 yrs 2. Where and why was the breed first developed? 14TH.Century Spain 3. How common is it in Australia? Very 4. What is the average lifespan? 12- 14yrs 5. What is the general temperament/personality? Exubriant,Loyal,Merry , 6. How much daily exercise is needed for the average adult? As much as u want to give ,just as happy lounging around as running through the fields . 7. Is it a breed that a first time dog owner could easily cope with? Yes providing you let the pup know who is boss from day 1 . 8. Can solo dogs of this breed easily occupy themselves for long periods? Better with a companion(.bit like pretzals can't have just one ) 9. How much grooming is required? Lots , they r not a wash & wear dog & require regular brushing to keep coats free of knots .& special attention must be paid to keeping air way free around ears,& triming hair between pads of feet . 10. Is it too boisterous for very small children or for infirm people (unless the dog is well trained)? Not if trained correctly 11. Are there any common hereditary problems a puppy buyer should be aware of? PRA F/N 12. When buying a puppy, what are the things you should ask of the breeder? (eg what health tests have been done (if applicable) and what is an acceptable result to those tests so the buyer has an idea of what the result should be) Health tests, bothparents clear of PRA& F/N.,How he pup was raised .Check tempremant of both parents.
  15. 1.start as u mean to continue (u r the boss let puppy know that from day 1) 2.provide warm comfortable sleeping area (draft free)& a snuggle friend,as pup has just left its litter mates & mum I presume) 3. dont be tmpted to over feed ,continue with breeders recomendations then gradually wean to yr chioce .& insure clean fresh water always available . last but not least treasure the joys of a new friend .
  16. Please dont mess with eyes ,so many reasons for this ,hopefully it is just gunk ,but with age can come other problems . vets visit is best first move ,but in the mean time warm salty water with a clean wipe each time .,wont do any harm
  17. have a look in woolys , i get mine there, but they r not where u would expect them to be ,@ our local store they r with the pr packaged chicken pieces
  18. NO, not all groomers know how to do a cocker cut !!, be sure to find one that does & dont be talked into stripping the back ,unless that is what you want . Once a cockers coat is clipped off ,it will never grow back the same ; I suggest you find a breeder of cockers & ask their advice , Making sure the hair inside the ears is kept clipped though ,to provide an air flow ,or u will have ear problems ,also as has already been said ,keep the hair between pads of feet trimed aswell. Come join us in the cocker pics /chat thread ,lots of friendly advise there
  19. A beautiful tribute ,to yr beloved friend rip Sammy & watch over yr loved ones till u meet again .
