Hey everyone, random question since the year is almost out and i'd love to jump in next year ... do you have to have a DSLR camera or just a camera in general to participate? Cheers!

Hey guys. Not sure if this would be old news or not but on fb for Perth Pets in Need there is a warning out as apparently there has been 18 cases if baiting happening around Bertram/Gosnells/Kenwick Thought I would share just in case, would hate to say nothing then read about something horrible later!

How Do 2 Golden Retrievers Get Along With Each Other?
Jenni87 replied to goldee's topic in General Dog Discussion
Hi there. I currently have 2 GR girls and they get along perfectly. They are litter mates and we adopted one of our girls when they were about 14 months old due to her owner unable to keep her any longer. We were planning on getting another as Ella was such a social dog, she has a genuine 'happy' look when she was with other dogs and then with Rosie becoming available it was just meant to be. We had looked after her when her owners had gone away in June a few months before and it was like we had always had her and had just convinced us to get another one even more, we could see a change (a positive) one in our girl by having her around, again she just looked 'happier'. I know its prob more human emotion but you can tell whats going on with your dog to a certain degree. Things people have said are all valid and most have much more experience dog wise than I do but if you do right, introduce properly and set down the laws from day one, from my experience, I don't think you'll have major issues. We have a good set up in our home, both get treated the same by us and any behaviour we don't want to see gets corrected straight away. I cant imagine not having the pair of them now. Love my girls -
It is all very surreal! A long time family friend lives there - houses behind her were sone of the confirmed destroyed and since we haven't heard - are presuming hers is ok. I was only there on the weekend and seeing it all On tv now is just bizare! I really hope that justice is served and our amazing fire fighters get it out soon.

What lovely photos!! :D Love her expression in the last one!
-
Rosie has the "please feed me that treat in your hand or i'll die" look perfected!
-
Thanks for heads up GR! Ella's the same though, toilet rolls, bottles, a feather - all keep her amused for hours just by her throwing/rolling things around herself. So glad she isn't a big chewer of toys - but if she was, she has a bucket full of them waiting for her!!

Husband Out In The Backyard Trying To Catch The Dog? What To Do
Jenni87 replied to Snowball's topic in General Dog Discussion
Ella went through a stage of this. Our main part of the yard has windows along the side so she can see in and we leave the blinds over and just potter about. As soon as she sees us move inside, she wants in to come and see what we're doing. My Goldie is food motivated but also stubborn and sometimes even the promise of treats dont work. I think its def. about making you more appealing than what ever is going on out there. So like others have said, play dead (laying down on her level always gets her to us, or on us, depending how quick we can prep for her to come over) run the other way, go inside and ignore etc etc..... It is very frustrating, so many times i've stood there sounding/acting like an idiot trying to get to over - she even looks at me like one but you learn these things in time! -
Our girl loves em!! I do keep an eye on her when she gets them and are a "sometimes" treat but we've never had any problems or anything with them either.

Ella and I are going We're based in Kwinana so nice and local Also going to the Armadale one that's on tomorrow.

Hehehe... I think you meant me GR! Yes we're still coming! Mas: We won a voucher for Ellas photo shoot. We got suckered in big time, we loved the photos so much and ended up spending over $1000 on the photos! Thankgod for ezypay I've been wanting to do another with Ella, just not in a studio like those were, but again the cost is a factor! If she gets her brother next year they'll def. being getting photos done!

Count us in! We've got a few weekends free (finally) so not fussed when!

Question Of What I Guess You Could Call Morals
Jenni87 replied to Rach...'s topic in General Dog Discussion
Just saw this and thought I'd add something. Rach, at TAFE we have Career Connect. It helps the students find work in the industry of study. I'm not sure if you have tried that but if you pop to the bookshop they should have the forms there to register?? -
Yes, she is coming back to Daycare - I just keep forgetting to book her in. I think I shall do that now!! Cheers for the reminder! Yay! It's tomorrow. Can't wait.
-
Rach: You could always take home a cupcake for Maizy :D Steve: No, not yet Mas: Great news about his warts!
-
Even more reason to celebrate!!!!!

GR - I think either way is about the same, Rowley is the first exit so if you get back to Anketel you know you missed it! Yes! Mirawee - thats the place! We went one weekend and as we went past we were like... huh?! and drove past about 3 times ;) We were tempted to go have a look as well but decided not to :D Oh wow Julie, thankyou so much!!

Haha its just out of Kwinana, actually I think it's still in the same shire?! Hm... Its off Da Haer Road, here is a little map. You can see the oval space from the road but it's a little distance off There is an entrance with Wandi Community Hall marked on it.

Hi everyone! Little Miss Ella is turning 1 on the 28th August but due to OH having his birthday 2 days after hers, her birthday weekend got taken over by him. Selfish of him I know So on Saturday 4th September from about 2pm I would like to invite you along to.... Ellas Birthday!! I will be providing treats of the human and canine variety (think cupcakes and home made doggie biscuits etc) to nibble on while the pooches have a play. It's been ages since Ella has seen some of you and having a big play with the dogs will make her happiest birthday girl... so how can you say no to that? Details: When: Saturday 4th September Time: 2pm Where: Wandi Community Hall Wandi Hall is a massive oval next to an equastrian center. The weekend is free from pony activity and the oval is distanced from the road. We take Ella here nearly every weekend for a play and run and she loves all the smells around the place! it's also got a tap for water Would love for you to come along as she hasn't had a big play for awhile, if not no worries Thanks! Jen

Hi there, We put down our fake turf last year and I loooooove it!! We have a Golden Retriever (almost one year) and friends often bring their dogs over for a play (GSD and another Goldy majority of time) and it has survived her puppyhood and their playing. Cleaning it is easy, and never had stains for number 1's or 2's. In Summer the only time I noticed it hot was when we had that week of 40-43 but then everything was hot. We also have a market umbrella that we put over Ellas clam pool but otherwise been fine with it. We also got the more premium range so not sure if that makes a difference (was on clearance - bargain!). It also came with like a 10 year fade/tear/etc resistant warranty but its been down for over a year now and no problems or anything with it! Plus people always comment on how lovely our lawn is and its not until they are right in front of it they ask if its real or not.

Oh I'd love to bring Ella along! Been awhile since she saw Dougal etc..... Just gotta get home and check the calendar!

Love all the photos... especially this one of Mason

Nothing to help, our GR does it all the time. We know she has something as she struts around in front of us like "look what i've got!" or goes flying out of bedroom to the backdoor to be let out if its something "really" good like my hairbrush or a phone, that she knows she really shouldn't have. She never chews though, she just carries it around or on the really good items, wants to take them out and drops it in her kennel (like OH keys which took us 2 hours to find!!!) We should correct her but we're usually to busy laughing at her to be serious, the look on her face is pricesless and since she learnt "give" she has been giving them to us when we ask..... 8/10 anyway.
