Today I have lost so unexpectedly my beautiful girl BG. She found me in the pound last year and I could do nothing but take her home. She waited for me to come back from overseas to say good bye. She battled on, not complaining, hiding how very ill she really was. I had two last days to spend with her before she finally lost her battle with leukemia this morning. She had no strength left in her, the only thing she could still move was her forever wagging tail. Rest in peace my wonderful girl. You were the best girl in the world and now you're the best girl in heaven. Angel on earth, Angel in heaven, Angel forever.

May - a happy soul, with so much love to give and wanting to live. Thank you, Merna and her foster carer, for making her last days a time with love and comfort. I wish you a good journey, May, and a happy time in heaven forever .

It had been mentioned before that Norma has given Merna permission to post under the name of chinaplate. I understand Merna will have her own log-in in future to avoid confusion.

Gone from this world, but you are not forgotten, Mits. Misunderstood by many, loved by few. May the angels look over you up there.

She looks so much happier! What a miracle dog! Just goes to show - never give up! If May even gets only another couple of months of a happy life it was all worth the effort. Thank you Merna! And thank you everyone else who has contributed financially and with moral support in this thread to make it all happen!

Have unsuccessfully tried to reach Merna by phone a couple of times. Sorry, I don't know either. ;)

Thank you so much, k9angel! What a beautiful little poem. It brought tears to my eyes. May HAS to get better after that - she's got no choice!

Well said, Kaz. That's exactly the plan!

Thank you everyone for their kind words and encouragement!! I am truly humbled! I'd also like to extend my sincerest thanks on behalf of Merna, Norma and DABS!! Our May is indeed suffering a fair bit. Due to her heart failure fluid accumulates in her body and her lungs which makes it very difficult for her to breathe. On top of that the infected sores and wounds, the general stress from being in the pound etc. - she is not in good shape... I, the rescuers and the vet have not given up on her though! Tomorrow a specialist will come in and do an ultrasound of her heart to check the extend of the heart failure. Only if the result of that is very bad indeed will she be sent over the bridge. But I am still hoping. I can still see a little spark in her eyes in her photos! Donations can be made by either contacting me and I will send out bank details or you can send a cheque or money order made out to DABS straight to DABS, PO Box 73, Canterbury NSW 2193 Please note in your donation that it is intended for May the Rottie! And also please everyone who will be or already has donated send Merna (chinplate) a pm with the amount you have donated and your address so that she can send out receipts! Muttaburra - I like your idea of a sausage sizzle! Can my dogs come?? They like sausages! But then again so do I and if I bring them I won't be getting any!

She is at a very reputable vet clinic somewhere Western Inner Sydney I think. Please contact chinaplate for more information. Yes, poor May is in a very bad way. She gradually got worse in the pound. With her suspected heart failure her peripheral circulation would be pretty bad. A healthy dog would handle lying on the concrete reasonably well but a weakened dog with underlying problems can deteriorate pretty quickly if not cared for and treated appropriately. May is fighting for her life and I will offer all my prayers for her tonight.

PLEASE This is May's thread. Please start a separate discussion thread to sort out any differences of opinion. Thank you!

Yes, it does. The compassion of the kind people who are donating.

Simply because someone was thinking with their heart... After having committed to her rescue by phone and then finding her like that it's only a kind hearted human reaction to try to save her nevertheless. It's called compassion. And if some generous people are willing to donate to help her - a big huge Good Onya! Thank you to everyone who as offered assistance so far.

She is under DABS but I don't know at which vet in Sydney she actually is. Will try to find out.

Here are a few pictures of when she was picked up: May, trying to be so brave: Super swollen tummy: Some of the many wounds and sores:

Some people may have read about this Rottie girl from Blacktown over the last few days: Unfortunately when she was picked up from the pound seconds before PTS she was in a very, very bad state to a point where she collapsed. If you would like to read a little about her please go to Old Blacktown thread in 'Past Rescues' , update on pages 8 and 9. Anyway, May, as she has been named, is at the vets now where her unexpected bad condition is costing a fortune. The vet bill so far comes to $280 but will go up substantially with an Ultrasound planned for tomorrow to check on her heart. They suspect that she has some heart problems hence a massive accumulation of fluid in her tummy. She is not pregnant at all as was first thought! She has numerous sores and open wounds all over her from lying on the wet concrete for so long. Please, if there is anyone out there who can spare a few $$ to nurture this beautiful girl back to health, please pm me for bank details. Thank you very much everyone for opening your heart to May!

R.I.P. poor little unknown boy So sad you didn't even have a chance to get the love you deserved. It was so close... :nahnah: Thank you so much, Mina, for trying to help.
