  1. Yep - Louie is pizza face at the moment!
  2. OMG! I have GOT to try flyball! Where do tey do it in Adelaide? Louie can run so fast would love to see him do it too! And Daisy is great! Who says pugs cant run
  3. My ittle guyus coat is a bit bleh at the moment - I am giving him two sardines a day and some omega 3 oil supplement (dont know exact name, supplied by breeder) to help it
  4. I would advise don't do it. I am currently stuck in one of these contracts and every few weeks the story changes. I paid pet price for my dog but have since been informed that I am not allowed to tell people I paid for him as then my breeder cannot show him - whereas the way I understand it is that if I was registered with SACA it would not be a problem. What annoys me is I work in a law firm (I am in my fourth year of law school) and my boss drafted hte contract with me - now she keeps wanting to change it. Think very carefully about it is all I am saying - I certainly would not do this again.
  5. Yeppers, that's why I took my pup there too. I really wanted to socialise here right from the start of her life with me. Problem was that there were two large breed pups, mine being one of them and 4 small pups. The vet nurse didn't have the confidence to allow the large breed pups off lead with the little ones so the small ones got to play together and the biggies were kept onleash. My pup was in fact the quietest pup there but because she is a Rottweiler she had to stay onlead. She already knew sit, drop and come anyway but it was awful for the two of us who had to keep our pups onlead while the others were allowed to play together. That's why I didn't bother to go back after the second session. Geez, you got a free sample of Eukanuba. All we got was earbashed about it OT!! That stinks - at our puppy pre-school we had a pug, three PP SWF's, a toy poodle, a Viszla and a Great Dane. You have never seen anyhting as sweet as my puggy play with a great dane! The Vet Nurse allowed him of lead whenever she could so he did not get 'big dog syndrome' and while he was enormous he was as gentle as anything!
  6. Probably won't work but I remember someone saying kitten food was very high in fact compared to dog? Would it be an option to add some of that to what he is being fed? By all means if anyone knows better shoot me down, I just remember an Aunt of mine saying thats what she gave her dog when he was underweight!
  7. We always had this problem wit our two border collies as I was growing up. We simply fed the gentleman first then the guts second. We also taught the guts ti drop and wait before he ate.
  8. sounds like a reaction - take her to the vet immediately - 15 time in an hour is far too much she will get dehydrated at the very least. My sister almost lost her pup after a reaction - dont waste time.
  9. Of course if it gets worse take him back -especially if you think he is dehydrated. I gave LOuie ice cubes so he did not get dehydrated
  10. Dont worry! I had to fast Louie for 24 hours within 3 days of brining him home (he had the runs too) I gave him rice and chicken for the next 2 days then slowly introduced his kibble back into his food (i.e. 3 parts chicken rice, 1 pt kible, then half and half and so on)
  11. That actually made me laugh out loud! Which I don't do very often when no one else is around! Thanks for the replies.. that makes sence to wait I suppose. I wasn't thinking, I got home from work and put it on straight away as OH found a flea on him during the day. Stinky he shall stay. I aim to please! If snot is stinking you out too much feel free to send him down to me!!
  12. Louie gets Eagle Pack - he looks fantastic, shedding his puppy coat but he is still nice and shiny, plus he is super muscly and in great shape. I mix it with fresh meat and yoghurt too and soak the kibble
  13. NO! Snot's snot dirty is he? Snots snot a dirty ferret?
  14. I know Louie gets 'pimples' on his face but I have not heard of lumps on the legs before :D Well what do you know, Louie has two big pimples on his leg today... I take the above comment back :D They are in the armpit area so maybe caused by heat?
  15. if there is blood in his pooh I would be taking my dog to the vet. As far as how to change the fiet though I a not sure what you should do now - I would ask the vet...
  16. Wow what a fantastic article - I want to print of 500 copies and hand them out at the local dog park!
  17. Yep, Louie gets a lot on his face, it is because he is dirty and insists on shoving his whole face into anything that could POSSIBLY be remotely edible - pig.
  18. I found Louie reacted like that with liver I just use bits of Louie's dry food (eagle pack which is nice ad small) for training treats, as Louie is the kind of dog to get FAT easy I just take his treats from his daily food allowance in the morning
  19. I know Louie gets 'pimples' on his face but I have not heard of lumps on the legs before
  20. Not really, sometimes he gets tangled, but most dogs get tangled sometimes! The first few times we put it on he went stupid, rolling over to get it off. But now he knows it means we are going somewhere and he is happy to wear it. When I first brought him home I put the harness on for five minutes at a time (without the lead) for a few days, then I introduced the lead but did not hold it, just got him used to the feel of it. Finally I bribed him to do a few laps of the yard (with food) and from there he has been fine in it. Louie as a whole though is a pretty easy going boy though - if your little puppy is more skittish it may be harder to train them.
  21. Louie has a harness for 'fun time' and outings to the beach, park etc He has his show lead for show training so he learns when he needs to work. Finally he has a collar and lead which I will use at obedience Of these I find he walks best on hte harness, but has also had more experience on the harness
  22. Yep - I have three and a half bags of eagle pack puppy in my laundry.... It was on a really good special!
  23. lol - I dont know if it is a good time as far as puppy and dog time but my breeder did say get them a few yers apart so you do not lose them both at once... If you want a christmas pup you would need to be getting in contact with breeders now. I haev never owned the brreds you suggested, but I have heard all three are lovely little animals - I myself would go for a cavvie or tibbie of the three.
  24. Poor baby Louie did get the poops after we got him... I fasted him for 12 hours then put him on chicken, rice and natural yoghurt for a few days before weaning him back on his food. Is there a vet near you who works on saturday? I would be trying to get him in asap - just in case...
