I notice that Louie's ears get a very pungent smell when he has an infection... Zero's sounds a bit different to that but the vet knows best :p

How Long To Take Off Work When You Have A New Puppy?
Pug Hugger replied to jeddica's topic in Puppy Chat
I took 10 days off with Louie - they are so precious when babies! Enjoy! -
If you have a pug... NEVER!

Louie is 9 months and has been on one meal for about a month already. For much the same reason as Sophie, he just did not touch his breakfast - but gee he gobbles down his dinner! I don't think with smaller dogs it is as important to feed more than once a day (due to different growing patterns). Louie gets a few snacks during the day so they keep him going too.

My sisters pedigree GR was also $950 -she is very sweet and totally worth it

watching with great interest - I also need some! Best thing for mucky wrinkles!

I had this problem with Louie at about the same age - god I was p!ssed off with him! (No pun intended) Louie is also a showdog so no desexing either. In the end I watched him carefully - when I finally caught him peeing on something I put him in timout (i.e. locked in the borinng laundry) for 45 minutes. He never peed inside again! It is certainly not a solution that would work for every dog but it did for mine

Thanks for the lovely comments everyone. I am so lucky to have had him in my life for so many years - and yes, Chess deserved his wings and we did the right thing in giving them to him...

I guess the first thing you should think of is this a good time to introduce a new dog to your family? Your children are both young and a small puppy and small children do not necessarily go well together. If your children were say five years older it would be easier to recommend a hardy small dog. Puppies are a lot of work and need training so they do not jump up on your littlies. Added to that I do not think many breeders would feel comfortable with selling you a puppy because your children are so young. That said a quieter, older rescue dog may be ideal and there are many rescue people here who could point you in the right direction - but judged solely on the info you provided I would not recommend a puppy.

Yep - Louie has had the occassional chicken neck from when he came home and now htey form part of his everyday diet. I always supervise just in case they choke - clearly my puggy has better manners than puggy_puggy's - he actually chews! - shocking isn't it! :p

I would mix htem as well - I changed Louie from Hills SD to Eagle Pack doing a fifty fifty mix till the SD was gone and he was fine

This is a post that has taken a while to do. We lost Chess, Chessy Boy or 'Old Fella' last month three days before his 18th birthday. Up until he was 14 he was so happy and healthy and could still go for long walks and chase the ball. Even at Christmas time he was happy - although arthritic and very old. Chess was a very special dog - he was not a pedigree, he was probably not even purebred, he chose to come home with us when my grandparents wanted to get rid of him him when I was just four, I literally grew up with him and for that reason he was my true heartdog who can never be replaced. I grew up with him - we jumped on the trampoline together - and the day I got stuck in the corner he sat there and snuggled with me until my mother managed to get me out! We did backyard agility together, we jumped on him, we pulled his ears, we dressed him in stupid clothes and he still gave us all of his love and devotion. Chessy Boy, sometimes we did not treat you as well as we should have, sometimes we neglected you for a new barbie, or video game or boyfriend. But You never neglected us and You were always there with a lick and a wag of the tail whenever we needed You. Chess you were one of the things I missed the most when I moved from my home town to study - every-time I came and went I said Goodbye to you, just in case it was the last time. At Christmas time this year it was and you left for the Bridge not long after - now you a young again, playing in the waves for six or seven hours and no-one is making you come home 'too early' you can chase your ball again like you used to do for hours and hours until everyone was sick of it but you. Have a good time Old Man! I miss you heaps but would not want you back as you were for those last few months.

I confess I tend to highlight and select send via email to make them smaller - then I move them to a new folder! That works for me

Don't need photoshop on the mac Not for basic resizing. Open the photo in iPhoto - I then right click a save a duplicate so I still have an original. To resize you can either crop using the crop tool in the bottom of the photo option place OR right click send to email and change size to small or medium - you can also export direct to a webpage. If you click in the iphoto tool bar 'help' and type in 'make photo smaller' there is a comprehensive step-by-step guide which is far better than I can ever explain!

Need A Cheaper Dog Food !
Pug Hugger replied to DiscoBorder's topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
You may be able to get the eukanuba off of an internet site for cheaper.... -
As far as the dominance goes getting the boy desexed may help a little - but you still need to enforce your pack leadership
-
Now I am by no means an expert but would the fact that they are so close in age be adding to the problem that Duke has of adjusting to a new dog in 'his' territory? Have you taken him to obedience, will he listen to you when you say no? Have you considered crate training them so they have their own spaces?

Sammy posted earlier that she was taking a break for a while from DOL - understandable - I can only imagine how she feels.

Indoor Doggy Toilet Alternative To Pet Loo
Pug Hugger replied to bebete's topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
great idea and good instructions! -
I would go with a terrier x something. Not that it matters she is very sweet!

LOuie could never reach the line. BBUt in my obedience class there are some labs who do. The instructor suggested filling the clothes with balloons. at way when he jumps up and they pop he will get a fright. I don't know if it works but it sounds good in principle

Does This Sound Strange To You?
Pug Hugger replied to SarasMum's topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
Well I am no expert but when Louie had 'tinselitis' (caused by eating too much tinsel at christmas time) the vet put him on rice as it is easy to digest and not harsh on the stomach - to me it seemed to come straight out the other end pretty quickly, but then Louie does like to poop! COuld it just be Mr Wei is getting older and 5.30 seemed to early? It seems too early for me!
