gimme gimme gimme!!!

I would normally go with a crate each - but mine refuse to sleep seperately. It was better for my peace of mind to purchase one large crate. Not ideal - but then most of my training probably fits into that category
-
If you wanted to sell separately I would purchase a pink collar and lead for my lil lady pug to match Louie's green camo

Has Anyone's Dog Choked On Chicken Necks?
Pug Hugger replied to ~Aimee~'s topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
I supervise my two who get RMB daily - no choking here either. -
I cannot believe it has been a year already. Hugs to you Cassie - what a beautiful poem for Oakley.

I doubt it is what Louie had - my point is get it checked asap. We thought we were dealing with a hematoma, turned out that if we had left it much longer it may have penetrated his brain as there was a fluid build up both ends. Sometimes time is very important - especially in such a sensitive area. Of course I am overly vigilant after our experience so please feel free to note me as paranoid! I am sure you pup will be okay - please let us know
-
I would get it checked. We had a similar thing happen with Louie, turned out to be a dermoid sinus burrowing into his skull through the middle ear. That said, our case was literally one in a million so I doubt that is your problem - but get it checked just in case.

Oh how terrible. Poor Duke. I hope her went peacefully. Big Hugs to TB and your family.

Louie did a similar thing when we were potty training him. We would do praise ad sometime liver treats too. Well Louie worked out that if he did TWO wees on a visit her might get a second bit of liver So he would do a bit of wee - come bumbling over for a treat and some praise, then he would run back and finish!

Pug Suddenly Breathing Heavily
Pug Hugger replied to MalteseLuna's topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
As pugs get older they do feel the heat more - it could be the warming weather is starting to affect her. I would recommend that your parents invest in a cool mat for her to lie on if she is feeling the heat. Weight is a huge factor to pugs health overall. Excessive weight will almost certainly make it harder for them to breathe. I would urge your parents to move her onto a better quality dry food formulated for seniors, eagle pack has one, I don't know who else does but orijeen would also be good. Honestly, she sounds quite overweight. Louie is a good size male and I keep him at 8.8kg, Evie is a small female and I think hr ideal weight will be 7 to 7.5 kg once she loses her excess baggage. I would suggest she loses the weight if possible, it will make summer more comfortable and take pressure off of her aging joints. Have they considered chiro to check that her back is okay? It might be worth it to be sure. She is old as well - pugs have a life expectancy of about 12 or so, but I would look at the weight issue first. As far as exercise goes perhaps some swimming would help her out, not so much pressure on the joints and nice and cool after all! -
Trapped Neutrophil Syndrome, a recessive fatal disease that borders can have. You test for it by a DNA test that is done by Alan Wilton at NSW Uni. You ideally need to look for a pup that has had at least one parent tested DNA clear. Carriers aren't affected so it wouldn't matter if a pet was a carrier. http://www.bccnsw.com/tns.html Thanks - will add it to the list!
-
Dumb question but what is TNS testing? I have a friend looking for a BC puppy within the next year so would be keen to know what it is and if we should specifically look for dogs that have been tested.

I sell 100% natural dried liver and chicken at my grooming salon in Adelaide,,, I know its 100% because we make it ourselves.. get yourself a dehydrator from a food store and make it yourself... only way to be sure i guess. And dogs love it too! Don't they Louie?

What Do You Think Of Colouring /dying Dogs
Pug Hugger replied to roxyporsha's topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
It wasn't this speshal girl, was it? ETA Obviously I have no problem with it and will freely admit that I dye Lola just for events that promote my business. She attracts the attention of adults and children alike, who will come over for a pat and then look at my products. I can only recall receiving one negative comment out of thousands. Lola is so gorgeous! -
Can You Feed Tuna Instead Of Sardines?

Tinned with tomato sauce here - Louie loves it and a bit of 'dead orse' won't hurt him -
What Do You Think Of Colouring /dying Dogs
Pug Hugger replied to roxyporsha's topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
I have no problem with it and if anyone wanted to experiment n dying puggie tails like Ms Lola has they are more than welcome to use my little man! Love the pics of the OP's dog - she looks fantastic!! -
Oh my goodness. I am so sorry to read this - when I saw his name my heart skipped a beat. Big hugs to you and RIP big, beautiful Angus

I have a water spray bottle (couple of dollars from the supermarket) Louie will get a spray of that in his face (on jet) if he is being very bad. Now all I need to do is look at it and he stops! I usually only every verbally reprimand him though as he has mostly grown out of the evil stage.

Hope the ultrasound went well and you have good news for us....

Severe trauma could be two dogs crashing into one another while running. With attitudes like this we will have nowhere to take our dogs, no obedience clubs, shows, dog trials or any other public outings as the insurance will be too high for anyone to afford. Accidents happen. Yes accidents do happen. But we do not know the full story here do we? What if the daycare centre is just letting dogs of various sizes mix and jump onto concrete? What if they were not disposing of their garbage properly and someone's dog got a cut foot or twisted bowel due to eating it? Is that an accident? No - it is negligence. If the OP's pup is in this way purely because of negligence she is entitled to be compensated. Any solicitor worth their salt will be able to tell her whether it is worth looking further into or whether she should just cut her losses. There is absolutely nothing wrong with getting some legal advice in this situation - to me it is the sensible thing to be doing. ETC: Spelling
-
I think you are correct to get some legal advice, especially after what the surgeon has told you. Sometimes things just happen - but if there has been negligence by the daycare I see no reason why you should not be able to have some of your costs met. I think you are doing the right thing by speaking to a solicitor.
-
No idea but I hope your two lovely ladies sort it out soon!

The one I know of down south charges $30 for a consult. Do you mind pmingtheir details? I am booked in with chiropet in kilkenny on tuesday but the south one would be better for location as well as price.
