  1. I know a few bracchy breeders warn not to give the nasal component as they swear it causes problems like this. I have been using it on my BM's and my old boxer (RIP) since it came out and have never had a problem with it. I was actually warned by somone that they can breath it into their lungs, which my vet dimissed as the quanities are quite small. I found when I had foster dogs coming straight home from the pound via vet for vaccination, that they all got a mild case of kennel cough (possibly already incubating it from the pound) and that my dogs treated with the nasal vaccine did not catch it from them but my dog who didn't use the nasal vacine got a mild does of KC everytime. But this is just my experience over the last 10 years with my dogs.
  2. Have to agree with the others Madcat probably just a cold or hay fever but off to the vet. I find they often get a slight cold after there vaccination. Especially C5 or higher. I only give C3 plus the nasal kenel cough vaccination these days and don't find I have the problem of colds afterwards. Good luck and keep us updated
  3. This wouldn't have anything else for a large dog
  4. Kate I know you had huge plans for your lovely Kalais and it is heart breaking that they won't happen. I know how special she is to you and I really hope that you get the extra time to spoil and love her, it's so heart breaking when they leave us too soon which they always seem too. Huge hugs for you both.
  5. I would highly recommend Jason Beck at QVS he is excellent. I would think $1500 might be a bit light on it cost me about 3 times tht for my bullmastiff. Make sure the dog is crate trained would be my biggest suggestion for rehab as it is usually 6-8 weeks of on lead only exercise which includes toileting.

    Atlas

Im so sorry Teebs it's so hard but the only consulation is the love and good times while they are with us makes the painful trip of saying good bye fad with time. RIP Atlas
  7. Teebs sorry to ear the boy is so unwell thoughts and prays for you both.
  8. go the Oldfield they are the best they use them for cattle
  9. Teebs prays and finger, toes and paws crossed for the gorgeous Atlas hope he has a speedy and full recover, I have no experience with MIHA but wish you all the best and hugs for you and the boy.
  10. As long as your wife is okay with a bit of drool then a bullmastiff will definitely fit the bill for your family. My small red girl has no problems making grown men wet themselves with fright if they try to come into the back yard or too close to the front of the house for that matter. We had builders next door a few years back who actually put in a 2nd row of fencing while they built the units as she had them all on edge. With the family and people invited into the yard she is a big ball of love and cuddles and everybody adores her gentle loving nature. Having 3 Bullmastiffs I can totally recommend them. Good luck with finding the dog that is right for your family.
  11. Ladies sprinting around the ring without the girls properly strapped down. Go and invest ladies :-)
  12. http://www.thepawman.com.au/ I would recommend Grant for a situation like this. He is not cheap but he knows dogs and particularly GSD. His methods aren't for everyone but for large difficult dogs they work. I have used him and very happy with the results todate.
  13. How old is the bitch? If she is I've 3 years old then you can enter in either 10A aust breed or 11A open bitch. I would normally only enter a well trained nature bitch in open class
  14. I have had dogs dogs with C5 in the past and they still got Kennel cough as there are many strains. I have never had a case of KC since changing to nasal form of vaccination. So I do C3 and nasal. I do the 3 year c3 and nasal yearly go KC
  15. I only ever C3 and nasal spray for kennel cough much more effective in my opinion
  16. I would show my boy Odin was covered in bites from my baby and I showed him. If judge asks just mention its an insect bite
  17. They may want to check the legalities with the state office of fair trading. Have to agree with oakway we don't need this sort of rubbish from registered breeders
  18. As for vets I can't speak highly enough of Anvet at Kedron the vets there are fantastic
  19. I would have entered but I won't enter shows that put everyone up in the top rings. Maybe there is good reason why the groups that are usually down in the bottom rings have to be crammed in with the other groups but it makes it to hard for Parking and setup when you have large breeds. JMO but my reason for not entering as much as I would have loved to. Good luck I hope it is a great show for you all
  20. SAS my heart felt condolences to you and your family. Rest in peace Dante and may the paw prints left on sas' heart bring fond memories and many smiles
  21. BBL so sorry to hear of your loss my heart goes out to you. RIP sweet Morgan
  22. Newfie my bullmastiff bitch had TPLO about 12 months ago and she has made a full recovery and is happy and pain free and runs around happy as Larry with the other dogs again. She was 4.5 when she had it done. Nala was an easy paitent through recovery as she is a real Velcro dog and was happy to lay in her crate and watch tv with me (I got pretty sick about a week after her surgery and was at home ) being a giant breed I opted to restrict her from playing with the other dogs for an extra month before supervised play then within a few weeks she was back with the pack and really hasn't looked back. The most important part of recovery is no activity without a lead for at least 8 weeks so every potty walk or moving from room to room is on lead. They must not be allowed to jump or run around. Once the all clear for excercise is given gentle walks a couple of times a day increasing in distance every few days. It is a very special bonding time. Good luck with your girl
  23. I cut it into chunks then boil it for a minute or two the give it a quick fry in oil and garlic then you can cut it into the size piece you want. My non food focused dog would walk over hot coals for it
  24. Thanks it could be but they are strange and if I didn't know better would say they look like MCT anyway I hoped they would go down and haven't so off to the vet tonight. They aren't itchy or anything and don't bother him at all
  25. I too would say the puppy is bored. Is it possible to fence off a section of the yard for the pup. Then he can see your other dog as well as run around freely.
