  1. Went to buy some Royal Canin puppy biscuits today, checked at pet store, and vet to me both packets looked identical but difference in price of $12. Vet said they don't stock the same quality as pet store. I am confused, is there more than one type of Royal Canin puppy dog biscuits.
  2. My daughter is off to school next year, better make sure I buy a dictionary for use at home. Otherwise her homework will be full of big red crosses and circles (with a note please get your mother to check your homework).
  3. The diahorrea, i think was caused by the large amount of fruit I was giving her (thought I was doing well), is there a spell checker to use on this forum - I really need one my spelling is a shocker and so is my writting (thanks to the age of computers I never needed to know how to spell, only to type)
  4. I I wasn't going to even acknowledge your remarks Frank, but you have just annoyed me now. If you have taken offense at anything I have said then I think perhaps I have hit a raw nerve by perhaps saying what you know is true, that the methods you are trying are not working, perhaps time to admit you need help that the situation is getting worse instead of better and if left to continue then your dog may need to be PTS. That is what I was saying with the use of the emotions..........Perhaps I should have worded it more obviously. I would never wish harm on you or your family. But it seems to me (only my opinion) that I am more worried then you are about what is happening. If it was my family at risk I would be doing something today. If it was me (once again only my opinion) I would be admited that this problem is more than I can handle and rehome the dog before anyone gets hurt. I would contact breeder see if they would take dog back, if not I would add to this thread "can someone help me find a good home for this crocker, with someone who can correct this behaviour" My disclaimer - this is what I would do if it was me, I am not a trainer, behavourist but a mum and yes even if this situation resulted out of poor training by me I would admit the problem is bigger than me and do what is necessary to protect both my family and crocker. I am sure that "Fit for a King" did not wish any harm on your family - personally I couldn't see anyone doing that. But I am sure he will respond to your remark. This was only a suggestion given you time limitations - sounded like a good idea to me (I am thinking of enrolling) from what I have read on this forum K9 is very highly respected and he has been envolved in this thread so he has taken an interest in your situation. Please tell me why do the moderators need to ban your computer, perhaps just try not logging on. I really hope your comment about quitening up people was written in angry with no thought put into the comment. Sorry to everyone for making you read such a long post but I had a few things that I wanted to say and I only hope that Frank does what is best in the interests of his family and the crocker. Toohey has made a wonderful offer above, please put some thought into it.
  5. With the best of intentions I have been way over feeding my puppy, it wasn't until in another thread someone grouped what I was feeding her together that I realised and that is way I have the problem with her faeces. I am thinking of just mainly giving her dry food with left over vege's plus of course some chicken necks with the occasional fruit. Without meaning to, I gave my dog diaharri from way to much fruit plus some fruit that wasn't too good for her. Plus she poos all day about 6 today. So how many cups of biscuits should she be getting a day. I am feeding her Purina puppy one. I know I have asked many quesitons re diet, but I am still getting it wrong so please help once again
  6. Okay I have to ask this, I check my dog for ticks but grass seed, don't mean to sound a little silly but what am I looking for?
  7. Before I knew better, if my dog didn't come when called we use to smack it. Then a trainer explained it to us- Why would you come to someone who you know is just going to hit you. We changed our training methods and then had a wonderful relationship with our dog for many years (7 to be exact). I just wish I have had got sound advice earlier with our dog, would have made life much easier.
  8. I was looking at the K9 site and discovered they also offer training by correspondence, maybe this would fit in better with you time limitations. ;) Just another idea.
  9. What sorts of venomous snakes do you get up there. I'd have thought the cane toads may have lessened their numbers. That would make toads good for something. ;) We get tipans, browns and deafaders (please excuse spelling), I hate snakes so much never bothered to learn how to spell their names. We arn't to get deafaders in this area, but some have been caught and positvity identified by vets etc.
  10. :smurf: The title is what go me first reading this thread, but this is how I feel now ;) or what about or better still wake up before it's too late............. Please. I can understand that you want to fix this problem yourself, but sometimes we need to know when to get help before it is too late.
  11. I have been trying so hard to make sure that I give her a well balance diet that I have managed to do the opposite, over feed her. I know feeding a puppy is not meant to be rocket science, but I seem to be making a few bo bo's. I will be going to town on the weekend, so another worming tablet is coming her way.
  12. Frank, what does your wife think about the problems with Bailey, and what is she wanting to see done?
  13. When I know read the list all put together of the food that I feed Holly, yes I can definately see that I am over feeding her, especially with the fruit. I will reduce the amount of food especially the fruit and see how that goes. I will take Kiwi fruit and strawberries off her menu....
  14. To be honest I am not sure, i don't think so. But I will keep eye on her in the next few days and see what she gets up to.
  15. Think I might try a sand pit, I have a two yr old son who will love it too, double bonus hopefully no more holes and happy kid.
  16. she is having kiwifruit, strawberries, banana, apple, paw paw and peaches. My kids have fruit twice a day so when cutting it up the dog gets some too. She is a pound puppy.
  17. Why do you think we'll never know the outcome? I was just saying the above in response to a previous post that Frank put up in relation to not using this thread any more. Personally I am happy that all is going well and to hear from Frank
  18. Poodlefan, I am surounded by sugar cane, and at the moment it is cane cutting season, so all the snakes are being hunted out of the cane paddocks. Going by some of the tracks on the road they look pretty scary. Hope daylight saving works well for getting dogs to have a sleep in, perhaps I should try my own daylight saving here. With any luck it might work on both puppy and kids
  19. Sorry to have to ask this especially near meal time but I am not sure of what is happening. My puppy 4 months old does poo a lot, about 4 times a day normally. But this afternoon she has passed a poo that is about the size of a cow pad, green sledge and smelly. She has been eating the same as normal. Cup of biscuits (purina one puppy) in the morning with sardines or yoghurt, lunch two chicken necks plus fruit and dinner two cups of biscuits plus some raw food depending. The only thing different I can think of is on Monday morning my husband gave her breakfeast and poured the oil from the sardines on her food...... Should I be doing anything or should I just wait and see what happens plus am I feeding her too much and that is why she is pooing so much or is that just a puppy thing?
  20. Having our puppy has been great for the whole family, the kids are playing outside more. We are all so much happier. For years I have been trying to find a hobby and yes I think I have finally found that thing that I have been looking for to keep me smiling.......
  21. I am amazed that this thread is still going, considering we are never going to know the outcome.......just hope it all ends well.
  22. Me too. Not only do the dogs wake up, but I have to get up to walk them at 5.30.. snake avoidance tactic. Yep, roll on the weekend. I have never thought about walking earlier to try to avoid the snakes, I just gave up walking.....to scared after my last dog died from snake bite. When does daylight saving start? I live in Queensland
  23. Hi Chloebear Flynn started digging holes and I was advised to put some of his poop in the hole so that he wouldn't want to dig there anymore. It worked. But now he digs in lots of other places  I'm just hoping now that it is something he'll grow out of - just a puppy thing like chewing everything. I vaguely recall my last dog doing something similar but then getting to a stage where he only dug holes if it was to put bones in them (which might be why Flynn is digging - he's finding the buried treasure!). I have 5 acreas that she could dig on, but no she chooses to dig on the section of grass that we take good care of for the kids to play on........just got to love it, grrrh
  24. I would do the same as what I do with my two year old son when he pulls this one. Take to vet rule out medical issues, then the old fashion principle of they will eat if they are hungry. As was pointed out to me with my son, so long as there are no medical reasons, they won't stave themselves for too long. (but in saying that I would still keep a close eye on things and when in doubt seek medical advice).
