that just makes me sooooooooooooo sad somewhere some time ago a little boy went down the wrong path and turned into this man how many teachers and parents see these kids grow up to be these adults ?

glad it ended all right but what an experience hopefully your daughter wont suffer from it longterm as for teaching what to do...you did the right thing with the bag i guess if a dog starts to attack...you teach your child to lie down and cover her head ...lie still ...at least her vital organs and head are covered but thats almost too horrific to even contemplate boy oh boy hopefully something will be done about the dog it was quick-thinking to alert the school...good on you

it made me smile cos i love salsa and this dance the meringue ( meh-ren-geh) is really fun to dance but it is kinda a sexy dance and that is a bit creepy..it has a lot of gyrating and dips and hip-py moves im not sure it is the right thing to do with a dawgy lol i was a bit worried watching the dog on its hind legs for that long...dunno bout the health issue long term but doggy dancing overall is pretty cool to watch

yes i have had similar experience with rspca and i have heard that some rescues are impossible a girlfriend of mine was trying to adopt through several rescue organisations and was finding it very difficult she has adopted all her dogs but this time round it has been like adopting an infant from the royal family lol she finally got one through rspca

i dont know about dobbing but two of mind dont like when there is rough play and start to bark if one of the cats is copping too much attention or the bottom of the heap dog gets cornered or something like that

i dont know about all this ... i havent had a dalmatian but they used to be my favourite breed...was living in a hot place back then and was worried about the skin cancer issue so i missed my chance...later i found out that they were a bit of a hard breed and so i didnt get one and have steered clear so ...id be reticent especially if youve got other dogs and as far as it being a puppy...it can still be dominant and grow up and start taking on the others in the household....our youngest and by far the youngest....is the leader of the males here and he is not entirely respectful of the ageing female either...he will roll her if she doesnt respond to his play invitations and food can be an issue too...dont assume that females and males always get along id buy it and if i had the space to keep it separate ( if need be ) then id get it up to speed and find it a home with dally lovers mind you ...if things worked out..then of course the dog is yours

ohhh boy thats a tough read...what a horrid thing but i have heard of such things happening ....dogs impaled on bits of wood sticking out of a log they just tear around and have no idea that theyre risking themselves and we kinda hope theyll be ok it is a lesson for al of us it could happen even at a dog park i have seen bits of wood sticking out that could rip out a dogs eye or worse...you should always have a bit of a look around but it is impossible to spot every danger hope recovery comes swiftly

i remember don walking the audience through a puppy farm on one show...before i knew what farms were it is scary when he appears to endorse this practice but surely hes not talking about the puppy farms we all know about today as for pedigree breeders...i have seen two that may as well be lumped in with the puppy farmers ,,,,,too many dogs kept in sheds...or in ridiculously small runs unsuited for the breed these were dogs that needed exercise and i totally doubt that these dogs ever got the exercise they need....but boy they do well in the ring...they sure do get the attention there

i love pups like we all mostly do but we have a fullhouse here dogwise and apart from getting a greyhound one day i dont really want to try too many other breeds id love a borzoi but im getting older and not sure i could handle one...maybe..maybe who knows but if all goes to plan this current tribe of ours will see us in to retirement and then we will downsize cos the kids will be gone so we wont have so many hands on deck to help with the walking etc a couple wil do us then til then the puppywishtree will lie dormant for a while...we are satiated at the mo

i guess you shouldnt be thinking that you actually hate people who react that way it is annoying and can make it feel awkward but there are people who have real phobias and yep people come first hard to believe lol try to give way to people if youre extra considerate to people who dont like dogs then they may learn to tolerate us dogpeople a bit more if you stand your ground on this issue you may actually reinforce their fear/disdain whatever even more

hope your son gets through this ok it must be a dreadful thing for a 13yrold who fully understands poor boy poor darling puppy and the new family who has been waiting for their precious bundle...sucha shock for them when a thing like this happens...rarely thank goodness sad sad for everyone all round

generally speaking id avoid mixing sighthounds and bully breeds with cats i mind a saluki and hes fine with our cats but will go for others...i dont know what hed do with a strange cat all our little dogs are fine with our ragdolls ragdolls are very laidback and they wont run...they just lie there and hold there ground for the most our cockers and our goldie were fine with our moggies...giving chase if the cats streaked across the yard but otherwise never any harm done ive heard that orientals might not be great with dogs overall but then ive read about exceptions too

we have lots of dogs here and i dont think wed ever go back to just having one unless we are retired and at home a lot but if you do have an anxious dog...some are..some arent then having asecond doesnt guarantee to help it not if it really needs YOU the master some dogs take to other dogs and their needs are met...some continue to fret we dont keep any single animals here apart from the eclectus who still has our other birds for company ( i know it isnt the same as having acompanion of he same species) dogs are pack animals so i figure having another dog that it gets on well with is worth the trouble be careful in choosing...get lots of advice

ahh you poor thing...and your poor ole Mum i had a bird die yesterday tooo and it is a great loss when little things die.... hope it all settles back into the right groove for you

long time ago we had only one dog...just briefly cos we soon added a companion this dog was a goldie and he never settled inside hed pace hed nose around he was hard to have inside cos you couldnt relax he wasnt destructive inside..it was just this constant movement..up and down he went to obedience but the lie down and stay was just an idea he had trouble even entertaining another one was a cocker we had..a boy..lovable boofhead but aagain very restless we have a number of dogs now but it never feels crazy here you forget that you have them inside most times because they mostly lie around this is the way i like it...no more high energy dogs for us methinks

when we holiday as a family we take all of our dogs when OH and i go it alone the older kids in the fam look after the animals you cant go out to dinner much...unless you get an open air sidewalk deal with a pom it shouldnt be a worry unless hes a bit of a piddler which disturbs other diners we dont go out at night on holidays... sometimes some holiday places offer dog sitting but mostly youre on your own you could always kennel him locally ( ie the area youre staying in) when you do decide to go out for a night...book a kennel or a vet ahead of time or ring and ask if you get in lastminute we did this when we went to qld to all the theme parks..we booked the dogs in just for the day it worked out 'well'..the dogs hated it...i suspect cos thats the way it is..but they were in good shape when we got them back..i felt awful and i doubt ill be doing it again unless we are really pressed but then you sometimes have to do it...so that the whole fam can be together we love taking our dogs..wed be miserable without them...when OH and i go overseas i miss the animals so much ...it becomes a physical ache and i turn into a petstalker...following people who are walking their dogs just so i can pat their doggies lol lol for me it is not a lot of trouble..cos it is so worth it

it is an amazing feeling when you feel your dog has truly turned a corner some dogs are really easy...we have a couple of those...theyre pre-programmed to serve and training is a cinch but the true triumphs are with those who resist or simply dont get it for a long long long time then the victory is truly worth writing home about...or in your case..posting on DOL! \

if theyre not destructive then id not worry too much mine have each other and they sleeep thats what they do on the weekend if we arent out and about you could walk them in the morning to make sure theyre tired and full of nice smellymemories from their walk

boy some poor bugger sure did get in deep in dogs and couldnt cope hoarder? rescue gone wrong? those poor darling dogs ive got mine here on the couch with the warm aircon and their coats on...this is just nuts that there is such imbalance... DOLER dogs looked after and nothing spared and then this kind of injustice and cruelty beyond the pale

we have had both a terrible cav...from a backyard breeeder..yep years ago when we didnt know he was aloof and never took to our family he shed a lot..lots of pearl-white hair everywhere he wasnt affectionate but i know lots of cavs who are the typical beautiful cavtemperament our cocker girl was close to perfect devoted easily trained affectionate but not in your face she was a tricoulour..nothing spectacular coatwise..she never did get past the puppy coat but that was a blessing perfect temperament and always tolerant of all newcomers but i have seen some horror cockers..two with that cocker rage but i dont know how common that is nowadays ears can be a problem but easily fixed if caught early get mucky with food so a snood is good for both breeds i dont know cavs are smaller so easier again but then a cocker can curl up to a crispycreme donut size anyway cav is probably easier to groom i love them both sweet dogs ...cant really go wrong if you go with a good breeder and be careful choosing with cavs...

my dachsie years and years ago before we knew better had cooked bones and got into huge strife with a lambshank that was cooked by mum boy did he suffer...he had such abdominal pains that he could hardly sit or lie the vet fixed him...and he was fine...i was a kid so i dont know what the vet did..i dont think that i even went with dad to take him raw bones have never been a problem here and we have had the occasional worry with a cooked bone swiped but even so..no real incident of concern of course we are very aware of not feedint cooked bones or leaving them where dogs can get to them
