We use shade sails and it does the trick for my dogs, although they will still insist on finding the spot in the sun to lay

Performance Food Without Chicken,
Ulfhednar replied to SilverHaze's topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
Love the sound of the "Primitive Natural" variety. I was after a "performance" food with no corn. Perfect! When/where will it be available, Sags? Yep sounds good to me too -
Hormonal Issues In A Female Husky.
Ulfhednar replied to Ulfhednar's topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
Yeah maybe, she certainly was not like that here but she had 8 other huskies she had to contend with. They have someone coming out to look at her on Thursday. -
Just a brief history I rehomed a rescue husky around 2 weeks ago. She was desexed 3 weeks prior to her leaving. At the time of desexing it was discovered she was approx 4 weeks pregnant. The decision was made to abort the puppies. I have received an email today from her adopters who have said over the last couple of days her personality as changed She has become very snappy at them and in you face. When she was here she was a very gentle girl but also quite timid. The family have asked as to wether this would be a hormonal issue as the puppies would have been due around this time. They have contacted a trainer for advice and assistance.

This Narelle has been after one of my foster huskies. When told he was sold I let her know of another one, He was perfect but too expensive. The first husky became available again so I let her know. She was all keen and said she would be down one day last week to met him. I told her to call me in the morning and let me know what time and I would give her my details. Funny thing is once I emailed her back and said his adoption fee of $300 was to be paid before she adopted him I never heard from her again. Thank god I didn't give out my address. This has all been in the last week.

A backyarder in Melb. He was brought by someone I know. Long story short he stayed with me for a week until they were ready to take him. After awhile decided they didn't like the colouring as they were sick of people thinking he was a GSD. so he came back to me. I have had him for a few months now. I have other pups here the same age as I'm sure you are aware of. I have been trying to track down his breeding. Father is a show dog. I have his registered name and photos. Mother is a agouti from a breeder in Vic. Which one I am not sure The people that own her now are the 3rd owners and paperwork has been lost along the way.

I have just had a young 5mth old male husky desexed today. I was told by my vet he had fluid on his testicles which he had never seen before. The actual testicles look normal in colour, size etc. Within a few hours of surgery the fluid is back in the now empty sac. Has anyone else seen this? My vet suggested a full blood count and antibody screen to see if something else is going on internally for the build up of fluid. Any suggestions??

Malinois Looking For Dog Sport Home
Ulfhednar replied to Bartok's topic in Training / Obedience / Dog Sports
Hey Fran, if he is still in need in a few weeks time he can come and stay with me for a while and hang out with the huskies. He'll get plenty of exercise and we can put a harness on him and see how he likes it. -
Pancreatitis In An Older Husky
Ulfhednar replied to Ulfhednar's topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
Thanks Everyone. After the first 4-5 days she has taken to her bland diet and is doing great. She has been adopted and has left for her home so I will pass on all the info for her new owners. -
Pancreatitis In An Older Husky
Ulfhednar replied to Ulfhednar's topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
The vet suggested chicken and rice. They didn't give me much advice at all. -
I have a 11yr old female foster here that has not long come out of the vets after coming down with Pancreatitis. The vet said she needs a low fat, bland diet so I have been feeding her low fat dry food (Science diet) and a mixture of boiled rice and chicken. Is this OK? What other options are there?

Omg! What Are These Sores On My Dogs?
Ulfhednar replied to snr's topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
I had a young malamute boy who came out of the pound with the same sores. It vet seemed to think it was a reaction to the disinfectant they use to wash out the kennels. After 2 weeks it had cleared up.
