I used to wet a towell or handtowell and lay that on 1 side for them to lay on. Alternatively a chilled hot water bottle works well also.

Hi all, I am after a show suit for my 11yo daughter who has been bitten by the show bug and decided she needs a suit. She is a size 12 so if anyone has anything they think may be SUITable (sorry) I would be very apreciative. Thanks in advance

I tried a few things with my last litter. We started with the fine minced beef, not a great success for us but obviously it has worked for others. We then tried soaked kibble, again not a success but give it a shot if you need to. Our saviour was Advance tinned puppy mixed with warm water into a broth/mush, yay success. Hopefully one of these will work for you easily enough. I also found they were more willing to drink the puppy milk first of in comparison to water, i just watered it down after a while till it was straight water. Good luck.

I personally dont bother with pet insurance as such as i am dubious as to wheter or not it would cover what my needs were..... INSTEAD I asked my vets for their bank details and deposit an amount each week under my account name/number. I have found this to be a great saver...it can be used on ANYTHING and I also found that should you have a higher bill the vets are more likely to give you some leeway as they know you are a regular payer. You will be surprised how quickly $10/20 a week can add up when your having a good run of no sickness Also handy for wormers vaccs etc.

Thats pretty much what I did with Pim as well and she loves fetching the ball....well she loves bringing it just outside my reach then darting off with it again Eventually I get it back
-
I was also going to suggest maybe putting a cardboard box in the back of the crate great idea guys I also started of with newspaper just outside their crate as i found when young they would go as soon as they were out of the crate, then i gradually moved it closer to the door of their room up till the point that they knew to go outside. Mind you acidents will happen

I recently had a litter of pups and being soooo long since our last one had forgotten how long it takes for their eye colour to come in. I was worried for a while but now have some lovely dark eyed babies.
-
Boy you were lucky, My quietest is still the quietest although he has come out of his shell a bit. My most dominant is still top dog And yes the loudest is still an air-raider. Foolishly I am keeping the naughtiest one who is also top dog lets hope she improves with age

I can HIGHLY reccomend the product aperteaser made by a DOLer..Lynne Phillips. My pregnant bitch would not eat but with a sprinkle of this product she started devouring everything in her bowl. Used it again to mask the taste/smell of Fenugreek powder with brilliant results. Sent some to a friend whos bitch wouldnt eat after whelping...she has now odered 3 bags of it. Try searching foor the thread Tasty Treats.

I agree, no interest in my girl for over 12 months with the 12 month implant. He is a Stafford just to give you an idea on size. Also his testicles did shrink, but were still obviously there.
-
Yep I have been using it for about a month now. I am quite happy with it and intend on weaning our upcoming litter onto it as well. Forgot to add yes mum is currently on it It is easier FOR ME to use this than make my own barf. Mum is in lovely condition with a super shine to her coat, and the poops are no different to before

Cool idea wish you had thaught of it earlier Feel free to add Staffdup. Ooooh I'm already there :D Staffordshire Bull terriers obviously -
Well your vet info is spot on I would also wait till she has her 12 week injection before taking her too many places. Probably stay away from areas frequented by unknown dogs. As for the biting I would be putting her somewhere contained ( not sure if I would use the crate, maybe the laundry) ..away from you every time she bites, also telling her NO. I am thinking that being taken from her litter mates and mum so early she has missed out on the lessons about biting from mum and fellow pups. Good luck and hopefully she outgrows this stage.....quickly

I agree with the freezing especially minced meat. my dogs (staffords) have to chew.....well for a little while at least. frozen mince in a kong is also another good one.

FILTA BACK A friend put me onto it, and it's brilliant, i use it around my dogs eye where its pink skin only need to apply it once a day and under my girls chin, probably twice as its wornoff by her licking and drinking.
