  1. poor kid :-( simple rules at our house for kids for generations, don't go near eating or sleeping or unknown dogs or dogs with pups. None of us were ever bitten, and we interacted with many, many dogs. Mine are fed seperately, left to enjoy their meal and then bed. My son was taught from day one the same rules, just stupid to put your child at risk. fifi
  2. Scream ? you'd hear me into next week :-( One of our dogs got hold of one of the farm cats and the neighbours a mile away could hear me. That poor woman and her wee dog, and those poor huskies - not their fault they are loose and doing bad things. fifi
  3. :D I'm in the same boat waiting for my next litter !!! good thing wolfhounds are big, so I can lean on them as I creak about the ring !!! fifi

  10. What a worry for you. I'm assuming she's had the tick serum and support meds ? I used to work at a vet's inland from the Central coast, and it was tick city, so many tick cases :-( all fingers crossed for good news. fifi
  11. Oh, and for those camping at Gunnedah, don't leave a small flap of your lodgings open or you will wake up like I did with a very noisy grunting and p*ssed of koala IN your tent !!! try grabbing TWO wolfhounds by the scruff while one of those in with you all !!!!! fifi
  12. I like your taj mahal Bjelker !!! you'd make a bedouin proud !!! tips for young players, don't camp too far from your friends if you are going to drink wine and find the toilets or your camp in the dark ! and remember your torch ! fifi

  14. All the grounds we go to in country NSW have showers & toilets. I'm saving for camper trailer, at present I have the gazebo with solid walls, butted against my hiace van with my kitchen & gear in the gazebo and me & the dogs have the van with mattresses. its wired for 240v, so I now have lighting in the van & gazebo and a nice little kitchen area with a folding table & chairs with electric jug, toaster, sandwich toaster ect. for many years it was just the back of a small van and a tent. And before that it was the station wagon, a beach umbrella, a tie out stake, lead and brush !!!! fifi
  15. Ishy, every showground is different. most country shows have camping spots and some have powered sites - the show schedule will usually tell you if powered sites are available to book. Some shows are held at a town's showground, some on sporting ovals, some at dedicated canine grounds. So its hard to generalise. Most of the camping is away from the ringside gazebos. camper trailers are very popular. fifi
  16. What a beautiful clydie, I'm so sad for you newfsie, another heartbreaking loss. Raising a glass for Johnno, Tobias and Johnno's stablemate, run proudly at the bridge beautiful boys. Hoping for a much happier 2011 for you all. fifi
  17. The only problem I see with your order is the flatpacked side of things, Ikea doesn't like it when others flatpack. Not even sure if your model 'Brad' will flatpack !!! fifi
  18. So sorry Pers, A very sad day for you all Hopefully somewhere, someday a pup down from Freddie will be born and carry everything Freddie had. hugs, fifi xxxxx
  19. Not without my animals, and I'd be leaving them behind over my dead body. when we had fires over the back range here last year, both cars had crates packed, Dogs in easy access area, Cats in cat carry cages, cars packed with dog & cat food, water drums, leads, bowls, mobile phones with car chargers ect. And we were ready to go early, before it became an urgen evac. Locals with horses trucked them out in the very early stages of the threat, and luckily the fires went down the range and not towards our village. Sorry, no one would separate me from my family of animals. fifi
  20. There is a fecal test Erny. But dogs can go from incubating to symptoms very quickly, so often an unsuspecting pound will move out a seemingly healthy dog. bonny, the danger may not be to the fully vaccinated dogs, but the sick dog has been shedding the virus and now that presents an issue. I'm sorry you've been through this dogbesotted. I always assume any pound dog is unvaccinated and possibly either has or is shedding parvo or kennel cough ect... which only helps if we have full quarrantine facilities - and I know many of us have taken on a pound dog in response to an urgent call & not always able to fully isolate. fifi edited for clarity
  21. I'd be suggesting the dog be fenced off from any access to cars. You wouldn't believe how many dogs are run over on farms because they are loose where the vehicles are. I heard of three more this week. drives me bonkers - its so easy to fix ! fifi

    Merry Christmas

I wonder why they don't simply use the breeder's current membership to their state's body as enough to ID them ? fifi
  23. Some very essential gear in here !! I'd like to order a very special whelping box......with a giant size whelping area and puppy box, with the addition of a personal comfort station... PCS needs to consist of........A Spa, full length mattress, laptop with wifi, television, expresso machine, massuesse (brad will do from your current range) a bar fridge stocked with chocolates, alcohol, and some token fruit for guilty moments. If you can have this built and flatpacked to me, I'll add it to 'my cart' and pay with the platinum amex card as previously supplied. many thanks fifi
  24. What about the daily tablets ? they contain DEC and no ivermectin. Advantix wouldn't give you enough mozzie prevention to cease heartworm protection. fifi
  25. This one ? Sway's site: http://www.prefixsearch.com.au/ edit....*snap* sway !!! fifi
