Some girls are just drama queen screamers !!! think of *swooning with the vapours* type princesses !! then again it's not a bad idea next time she has a checkup to get the vet to check for any strictures. fifi

Just about to ask the same question. fifi edit, just saw you posted. If its for the money, then yep - she'll only attract byb and GR X Poodle puppy farmers :-(

Given that there is so much choice in her breed, he would need to be an outstanding example, probably a stunning show record, hips, elbows, and I think eye's & heart clear. unless he is a much sought after import or from stunning lines, I'd say she would need to be very careful about advertising him, or she'll end up with byb lining up. The outstanding dogs in a breed never need to advertise. fifi

I have no problem adhering to the strict conditions my dogs are under, and have the same conditions on any pups I breed. fifi

More unlikely being a desexed dog, but have your vet do an anal exam for any prostate enlargement. fifi

Yes, I remember them too. Thank you to the team that gave Pru a new life, Jaqui, Anne & Georgia. Take that joy with you and liven up the bridge little Pru... fifi xxx

Yes I'll be there singing showdog, but only if I win of course, if I lose I'll storm out of the ring, rubbish the winning dogs, accuse the winning handler of sleeping with the judge and then slink off home to wash the dye out of my dogs One musn't forget the obligitory trashing of the ribbon in full view of the committee, stepping on it is so much more dramatic than just flinging it to the ground :D My elderly mother is on an internet BEADING forum, where there have been duelling grannies, death threats and stalking over BEADED FLOWER MAKING there will always be the drama queens (think soccer mums/dads, and ballet mums) Just ignore them, and as someone said, they really are very entertaining !!! fifi

wonderful news, and don't forget when she gets home to keep her cool and confined to prevent muscle myopathy. Very slowly build up her excercise tolerance, it can be at least a month before they are bouncing around. Common Complications in Snakebite Myopathy: This is the break down of muscle which is a result of snake venom, especially in tiger snake bites. This will cause pain, respiratory failure, weakness and kidney failure. Myopathy can occur within one month of treatment for snake bite if the dog is not strictly cage confined. After Care: Upon the dog being discharged from Veterinary care, the dog must be strictly caged and confined. The reason for this is to prevent the development of myopathy. If an owner is successful in reaching this point, the dog has a very good chance of survival. However if the dog is not strictly nursed and confined the chances of survival at this point are greatly decreased.

Shilo Is Seriously Sick. Last Update.

Oh - Only just saw this thread. I'm so very sad for you Nicole. Run free Shilo fifi -
For me, the one's that carry on like primadonnas or dummyspitting phsyco's I can deal with, I just laugh inwardly and think...get a life you poor creature, or have a pang of sympathy for their lack of life outside the dog world. Its the smiling assasins that get up my nose, the one's who have utterly no life and sit on the phone & net to scheme & bitch & sabotage, the liars & sociopaths...they are the one's to caution the newbies about. They are usually very good at the nice veneer, all the while slicing & dicing. They are the one's who do the most damage, because people are lured into trusting them. But I have to say, apart from a handful that fall into the above categories, I have made some wonderful friends through my breed, and showing in general. In fact a good percentage of my close buddies are the one's I see at country shows up here, as well as socially outside of dogs, because we have other mutual interests & lives. I agree with the mentoring statement from another poster, great mentoring can guide, shield, nurture and encourage the stayers in our hobby. fifi

Great thread idea, Rottsup, maybe you could alter the title to include international requests too :-) fifi -

Think I'd be doing some fresh AI's from today for a couple of days. Then if they don't have a natural mating, you have some hope. I probably would have gone with the prog test whey you first mentioned it, at least it would have told you if she'd already ovulated and a 2nd one would have told you if she was climbing. Sometimes the more we want a particular mating, the harder they make us work for it ! fifi edited to add stuff.

so the pups are ten days old ? she has hypo-calcemia ? Has she been on IV calcium at the vet & fluids ? I'd be giving the calcium sandoz after each puppy feed, check the daily dose and break that down. Let the puppies feed, but not stay on for ages, just full and then pop them off - might need a divider so you can let them be seperate. Give mum lots of fluids /milks/chicken broth. I'd only do this if the bitch is bouncing back after the vet treatment & if not, then probably might have to hand raise the pups. Its usually calcium given in pregnancy that tells the body not to manufacture its own, so I guess a puppy food high in calcium may mimic this ? not sure. Bitches that become inappetant in late pregnancy also seem prone to HC. As Christine said, take the vet advice though, each dog is a case by case event. fifi
