  1. Same here BUT my boy is a bully and cannot 'reach' his boy bits. Bullys are not very bendable
  2. My two bully ladies are the best friends foreva :D
  3. Very true! Especially if you can find an outlet cheaper than a butcher or supermarket. If you have a reasonably large freezer buy in bulk (that's what I am going to do once I get myself organised).
  4. Beef tendons are not sharp at all, just very chewable :D
  5. Rosetta, there are lots of good chews :-) You could start with a dental-dog-treat-pack http://www.cleardog.com.au/shop/variety-packs/dental-dog-treat-pack or go for one of these http://www.cleardog.com.au/shop/beef-dog-treats/beef-pizzle-thick http://www.cleardog.com.au/shop/beef-dog-treats/moo-chew-tubes http://www.cleardog.com.au/shop/kangaroo-dog-treats/kangaroo-jerky-long http://www.cleardog.com.au/shop/kangaroo-dog-treats/kangaroo-tendons-straight http://www.cleardog.com.au/shop/beef-dog-treats/beef-tendons
  6. This is where I go for all the decadent dog treats http://www.cleardog.com.au/shop/dog-treats. Their dried mullet offering is to die for according to the doglets :D Love that shop.
  7. These are exactly the same symptoms my sister's mixed breed has. She is also 12. We've done lots of tests - bloods, heart (cardiologist), etc, etc. Nothing conclusive, all ok. She is not on fish oil or any other supplements. It seems that the warm temperature triggers her fainting spells. We keep her cool and it seems to help. Good luck. Hope you find the cause
  8. The ABS still has a bit of work to do to stabilize the appearance of the breed. I have no doubt they will get to that point in the future as there are many very dedicated breeders in this group. Anyway, here are my standard ABs. To me, they are perfect :D
  9. I get fab meals from http://www.petdeli.com.au/products/177-canine-country-raw-dog-food.aspx If you scroll down you can select different varieties from the drop-box list. Canine-Country food is very high quality. I've been using it for years and have not been disappointed. Not sure if it's available outside Sydney.
  10. You are right of course but Boss-dog sounds better to me
  11. I know... I parent 3 ABS registered ones and it wouldn't be the best thing to call them Boss-dogs
  12. Luka is the most magnificent Great Dane Frodo's Mum is his parent :D Just have to say that she also parents Ruby - the virtual love of my life hehe Here is the linky http://www.dolforums.com.au/topic/242577-luka/page__p__5986805__hl__luka__fromsearch__1#entry5986805
  13. So very sorry to hear that. Run free Koda. Have fun over the rainbow bridge. He was one of Gnarla's babies if I remember correctly.
  14. Oh yes!! They are wonderful and there is so much need atm.
  15. Definitely frogs :D My next lot will be one dog, one cat and lots of chickens in the backyard. That should make it sufficiently interesting heheh
  16. I remember reading in one Patricia McConnell's books about a flock guardian dog afraid of thunder and loud noises. His parents build him an igloo where he could hide and be safe. It took a bit of training but he lived for many happy years. Have a look @ Patricia's site and maybe post a question. Good luck
  17. Consider stem cell therapy - a bit $ but worth a try. It works miracles on some dogs. My elderly bully is much, much better after the treatment.
  18. Hugs! It is such a difficult decision I have an elderly lady here whose joints are giving her considerable trouble. She's also had TPLO. She had 2 lots of stem cell treatment and that's helped a fair bit. We've given up big walks or exercise - she used to love that! She is sometimes in pain but overall is happy and content spending her life controlling other dogs + us :D .
  19. I think this proves that you need to experiment and find the best food for the dog. My lot does best on raw in the morning and HEP/Lamb green tripe in the evening. Yep, I've tried most of the 'good' brands.
  20. Oh yes!!! Their lamb green tripe is AWESOME. Stinks to high heaven but the dogs love it. I feed Holistic Eagle Pack. My lot does very poorly on TOW.
  21. That's how my bullies play  Today we had an accidental nose nibble. Quite scary for the uninitiated.
  22. I think commenting on the dog's weight is a bit awful My bullies are totally OK according to their vet (I trust him 100%). They do look stocky and to someone not used to bully-build they are fat. I get so mad when someone says they are fat! Here is my example of a fat dog (not!)
