  1. I am sorry to hear that BigDaz. Don't loose hope yet - it took Kluska about 2 months to repair her joints. Just continue with joint supplement (eg Glyde) and fish oil to help the healing process. We have now followed the injections with the IV stem cell treatment. Very early days but it looks fab.
  2. He is stunning! We had a deaf adult in rescue. He understood sign language and was so very, very smart. At times I suspected that he could hear (not a chance hehe). He went to live the rest of his life in a fantastic home that understood him.
  3. Newfsie, I will send you a pm sharing experiences and send you some links. I will take your request as an opportunity to thank the following people for my brand new, active puppy aka 7+yo bully girl: 1. Dr Angus Martin from Hornsby Vet Hospital (http://www.hornsbyvet.com.au/OurPractice/OurStaff/tabid/18630/Default.aspx). He did the stem cell treatment. He is wonderful - professional, knowledgeable, very caring and a lovely person. (He is our vet) 2. Dr Emily Yan from All Natural Vet Care (http://www.naturalvet.com.au/content/content.aspx?l1=NAT0002600). Really good chiro and trigger point therapist and vet (thank you CavsRcute for recommendation) 3. Our own DOL Inevitablue who has patiently guided us through the stem cell journey
  4. Fingers crossed for wonderful recovery :) Please keep us posted We had intravenous injection ("booster") yesterday. We are also continuing chiro + trigger point treatments. (The back and muscle problems were caused by her underlying joint issues) The outcome is WOW WOW WOW WOW. I have a little puppy here not a somewhat mature lady.
  5. Kelscats, my bully girl did her cruciate ligament when she was 3~4. Recovery process was long. ~4 years later there is no sign of trouble. I am sure you will do what is best for Pearl.
  6. We love our vet - Angus Martin @ Hornsby Vet Hospital
  7. You are correct LizT. We have never had a 'hot spot' but I cannot stand the dirt that collects in their folds. An easy morning routine (eyes, nose roll & bum) removes possibility of infection and keeps my bullies smelling sweet. It's really no trouble at all!
  8. Beautifully said Garnali! I'd love to know more about a new group that's helping to save dogs.
  9. Glyde. Have a look at the post in Health section
  10. Well said. Thank you Erny I hope and pray that things can get fixed. Kelscats, if you need $ to help with vet fees please call out. I will be honoured to contribute a little. There may be others willing to help. DOL is a mighty and wonderful community!
  11. Thank you for the update kelscats. Your vet sounds very good. We will keep paws and fingers very, very crossed for Pearl. Carlo11 - you have done your best! Kelscats, please keep us posted.
  12. Australian Bulldog Society runs a rescue group. Please have a look at http://bundybullkennels.com/australianbulldogs/absrescue.html
  13. Wow - certainly does not apply to our household.
  14. So sad Condolences dogmad. You have shown her what being loved feels like. Run free little Taz.
  15. I find that wrinkles need a little maintenance. Usually a daily wipe with something like curash wipes or tissue is sufficient to remove dirt or moisture.
  16. Thank you. She looks so happy How is her skin going?
  17. Sub-title changed to clarify
  18. We do pumpkin and sweet potato treatment when there is too much of a good life happening. I get 1 butternut + 4 large sweet potatoes (you will probably need less). Here is our recipe: 1. Peel and dice butternut & sweet potatoes 2. Heat a bit of oil in a pot 3. Add diced vegs and and let it stew for a few minutes. 4. Add 3+ cups of broth - veg, chicken or beef and simmer until very, very well cooked. 5. Mash the lot and freeze portions. The doglets get a serving of this with their barf. PS Humans in this household tend to steal this food so it never lasts as long as it should
  19. I purchased Glyde from ebay's stefmarpetcare and got it delivered in a day. If you are interested, have a look at http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Glyde-Arthritis-Joint-Supplement-Dogs-Powder-360G-EXPRESS-POST-Exp-Aug13-/290665542238?pt=AU_Pet_Supplies&hash=item43ad04325e
  20. Welcome back DD. So nice to have you on the forum. How is the beautiful Danny, little Miss Yoda and the rest of the clan? Anna & the bullies
  21. Frodo's Mum are you ok? Hope today was not too sad
  22. When is the treatment Fozzie? On another note.... Kluska's stem cell treatment revealed a couple of other challenges - back pain and knots in her muscles. We took for chiro, trigger point massage and acupuncture. Fantastic improvement! My girl is a teenager again! I am so happy :)
