I have moved into my place and it has polished floors, they are pretty bad because the person I bought the house from had four BCs. But I dont mind because my dogs will zoom as well. So I will just put down rugs. Thats just one of the things you handle, when you have dogs and polished floors.

It Might Be Time To Make The Hardest Decision... :(
gillybob replied to hortfurball's topic in General Dog Discussion
Oh Im sorry Horty. I think I will be in the same position soon with my Bob. I think its important that their doggy mates know whats happened. Gilly and Bob have been together all of Gillys life, so I worry about what would happen. I think Bob is really slowing down very fast. He cant get up on the lounge like he used too. And he is haveing those far away moments. He is 14. I think I would call Feef and ask her if she could do it here. Because the vet here in town is terrible. Feef has helped my ratties when they have been too ill. It was gentle and nice and we both cried. I would like Bob to have someone who loves him, look after him. -
When Loulou was here I use to have Gilly on one side and LL on the other. It was often impossible to move. I had to physically shove them, because they would do the dead weight thing. Gilly sleeps on top of the bed in summer and under the blankets in winter. You know when winter is coming, when Gilly does the bed dive. Gilly is now wearing his DOLOFA hoodie, its cold in the mornings here now.

Please Help Us Settle A Little Disagreement

Get him a coat. Up here I think its far too cold for any dog to be outside at night. In saying that ,most dogs in this town live outside. Most dont have dog houses or beds either. So they can survive. But if you care about a dog, you care that its warm at night. What about letting him in at night in winter. -
My old working dog Bob is around 14, he is just showing his age now, he was zooming yesterday with Gilly. He has been on raw food for most of his life, I dont know really how old he is for sure. Gilly who was 10 yesterday, is full of life and energy, he is a JRT/AussieX He has been on raw food all his life. They get a small hand full of dry food when I leave the house, once or twice a week. Dry food is like lollies to them. Their teeth are perfect. Gilly has had one op to remove a lump. Thats all the problems I have had with them. Bob was crook when he first came to me, but I think that was caused through drinking water with blue/green algae in it. The have always had good exercise and space in the yard to run. And LOVE, I think love is the main thing that dogs need to keep them healthy.

I have always been a Rex fan, even though there must be dozens of them. I like the dog in Doc Marten.

Vent - 2 Unleashed Dogs On Our Walk Tonight
gillybob replied to MsKatie's topic in General Dog Discussion
I walk three dogs and try to stay away from other people. Yesterday Im walking them and a women sees me and comes towards me to go to the park with her dog. I stop and wait till she goes into the park. She sees me waiting and walks straight towards me, so i turn around and go back more. Obviously she cant hear me when i say dont come too close. Because she walks straight at me with her bloody dog. She laughs and says, Ive changed my mind, I want to go this way. There is another bloke who walks a Stafford and an Amstaff, along the creek were i go, my dogs are always on leeds, his are never on leeds. It gets to me. -
My dog Bob was attacked by a pair of labradors, he was an adult at the time. It caused him so much anxiety, its only now we can walk without him looking behind all the time. Report the women and keep away from dog parks especially with a pup. If not for the other dogs, just to keep the pup safe from disease.

All Botanical Gardens have a no dogs policy.

Thats really not over the top, if they have had vet work and been chipped.

Geez my dogs must have killed hundreds of stuffed toys in their lives, they havent been harmed. The only harm has been white stuff all over the house. I always buy second hand ones, that have been used well.

I dont think the fact that some rescues have many homes, helps much either. Loulou came to me when she was 18 months, her family just didnt want her anymore. Knowing her now, that must have been terrible for her. She is a one person dog. She has many issues, but we seem to be working out her SA. I am wondering how us moveing to our own home will affect her. Will I have to start again. Any suggestions?
-
Loulou came to me with SA. She would just go crazy if I left the house., even though she had Bob and Gilly with her. So I did the going out for a few minutes thing. Slowly she got used to it. My problem is I am only really away from her one day a week. She will some times leave a poo in my room when I go to Tafe. But we are working on that. I throw a hand full of dry food around when i leave, so they are busy when I go.

Sometimes it does get tireing, haveing the same question asked over and over again. Then there are the school kids who come in to cause trouble. Then the posters who post obscene stuff. There are also the dog collectors, who come with a different name each time. As well as a different dog. It does make you a bit hardened to people. I have been a member for 6 years, over those years Troy has done a wonderfull job. I owe you a new tinfoil hat Troy.

I like the handles on Cadbury's coat and the way Rhys picks him up and puts him in the kayak. Its a great show, makes you want to travel those rivers just for the history.
