  1. DO YOU WANT TO DO A PET CLIP OR A SHOW CLIP? MOST OF THE PETS WE DO ARE DONE WITH A 10 BLADE FOR WHITES WITH PINK SKIN, AND A 15 FOR THE BLACKS. ON MY SHOW DOGS I USE A 30 OR MAYBE A 15 IF ITS CLOSE TO THE SHOW. YOU SHOULDN'T NEED A SMALLER BLADE, JUST USE THE EDGE AND COME FROM THE BACK OF THE EYE, THE TRICK IS TO HOLD THE HEAD STILL AND THE SKIN TIGHT, I KNOW IT IS HARD AT FIRST BUT ONCE YOU HAVE DONE IT A COUPLE OF TIMES IT WILL BE EASY
  2. Not much help for a quick sharpen but for future reference,,Sam at Delwood Hairdressing Supplies in Melbourne is great, not cheap at $40.00 a pair, but done beautifully
  3. YES AGREE WITH YOU TOTALLY, SAME GOES FOR MY GIRLS, AND OUR LAST 4 LITTERS OR SO
  4. My standards love to play with empty drink bottles too, I put a few pieces of dry food in them so they rattle. Favourite ever toys. Also old socks, I put 3 or 4 inside one another and tie a knot in the middle, last for ages.
  5. you must remember that this little guy has just left his mother and siblings and obviously has not had any experience in crates at all, of course he is going to cry, As the others have said he has to know that it is his house and to be comfortable there, go gradually try adding a radio when you are out near his crate or a TV even better,Our babies are crate trained from birth,as I take the litter and Mum to work with me each day, make it a lot easier for owners later on. Patience and praise not chastisement should work eventually. Good Luck
  6. I have also been feeding a diet of raw chicken wings, carcasses, etc ,lamb on bone, some beef in chunks, I do use Dr Bruce Symes Vets All Natural as well, but not every night, Last night they had All Natural and a big piece if lamb flap each, even my 13 yr old girl loves this. We also have a mum and pups, 10 little ones, now just over 3 weeks, all fit strong and healthy and i believe particially due to the diet we feed. She is feeding all herself with no worries , and it is her first litter. Eating tons of raw food and in lovely condition.
  7. would love to know more about that study Morgan
  8. definately NO test for Epilepsy, believe me I have gone through it. Vaccination does it to one of my dogs, so no more immunization
  9. pretty much agree with you Sandgrubber, just that I have had one of mine go down after immunization, very mild seizures, less than 60 secs, but he had 2 the first time and i did not connect the seizure with the immunization, the next year it happened again and i clicked, 3 days after injection. No more immunization for him. he is 8 yrs though
  10. The ghost dog stands at the foot of my bed, Her head is tilted, but her eyes are sad, She's gone to a place where the good dogs all go, Where the sun always shines and the cold winds don't blow, I call her name softly and fondle her ears And cradle her head trying to hold back my tears. She stays for a while then slowly turns away her days are now free to wander and play In the fields of her dreams she has many a friend But I know she was mine right up to the end She looks back and I see that her eyes are now shining With a wag of her tail she leaves me Still crying Lynne
  11. Hi Westiemum, just one question first, how long ago was he immunised and with what?
  12. That is terrible. Whether the Proheart12 caused the tumor or not, the package had clear instructions that the vet did not follow. That really makes me angry. I have seen and heard of dogs being vaccinated when they are ill as well - the manufacturers clearly state that a sick dog is NOT to be vaccinated. You know, no vet has ever voluntarily advised me of the risks of vaccinations. Even when I asked, before I started doing my own research, I was fobbed off with a 'reactions are so rare and you are endangering your dog if you dont do it'. After my girl had a severe reaction I joined a group of people in Australia whos dogs had also suffered reactions and found there were many more cases than I had imagined. just to add to all this ... one of my dogs has had 2 adverse reactions to immunization. He had a form of seizure within 3 days of being immunised, only short. less than 60 seconds, but still awful. The first time i just thought ,epilepsy. but he had no more. Then he was immunised again next year, with C5, and 3 days later another seizure, the Vet this time put him on to a course of Cortisone to reduce any inflammation ,he had one more small one and no more since. Now his grandaughter has done the same thing .She had her puppy shots at 4 mths and was due to have next at 16mths, but the lady who has her did it at 12mths, too early, a few days after the shot she had a seizure too, as you can quess we will now be very careful what gets immunised and what doesn't. We are thinking of going the way of Titer counts too now.A very wise Vet I used years ago said to me , do not immunize every year, only 3 or 4 at the most and never immunize anyting over 6 yrs of age ,it is a rip off by the vaccine companies. I have had linited response from Vets re this problem and most just say ,It shouldn't be the vaccine. Well to coicidental for me, I blame the vaccines.
