I Haven't entered the Melb Royal this year, the first one I have missed in #$%#@! years, all because of the debarcle at last years show. I had to remove a child with fairy floss from my Open dogs neck, and then to try to get to the ring was ridiculous, no walkway free of public. The photographer took pity on me and let me go through his area, as they were callng my number, otherwise I would not have got to the ring at all. Then after the show, having to run through red clay for a couple of hundred metres in the pouring rain. No I can do without that this year.

BICHONS Anyone ???????

Does anyone know if the Bichons have been judged yet.... would love the results, please

I think paper in a whelping box is part of the trouble that starts swimmer puppies off. No grip, they just slip and slide everywhere. Giant breeds most breeders use, carpet or something heavy with plenty of grip. Exactly. NEVER just have paper in a whelping box. I use drYbed always , the pups have to have grip or the legs go everywhere. Much nicer for the Mum too

Insert New Regulation 3.3.9 3.3.9 Pregnant Bitches
Hastings replied to SwaY's topic in General Dog Discussion
guess there has to be extenuating circumstances, if the vet says no puppies, but I think maybe they are trying to stop the blatant exhibition of heavily pregnant bitches, and ones who have had a big litter and look like it. I have seen several poor bitches dragged around the ring quite obviously pregnant all for a ribbon..... Personally I do not show after mating after about 3 to 4 weeks and then only if the bitch is happy, and definately no earlier then 2 mths after. too open to infection my vet thinks. My girls are very fit and run and chase rabbits etc right up to whelping but no forced shows.
