  1. We use the Premier Shampoo and MegaTek Conditioner. I was reluctant at first as I thought it might soften our Poms but it hasn't at all and their coats look great. The conditioner is great for a no-mat bath time and we mist them with conditioner diluted with rain water about three times a week. We are very happy to endorse it.
  2. My local Pet Store owner told me today that the company that owns RC and Advance also owns Pedigree Pal, Optimum and Whiskers to name a few. She said that the RC is made in France from higher quality ingredients than Advance which is made in Australia. My guys have just changed over to RC after trying several others including the ones mentioned above (except the Whiskers.. ) and they love the RC. I am happy to feed the higher quality imported kibble and pay a bit extra...... anything for my babies
  3. We have a Spitz cross (we call her a Spitza ) which I thought had German Spitz in her so I looked them up and found that their name translates to Mistbella (not sure about the spelling) which means "dung hill barker". Our girl loves being on her dung hill.......she is the worlds best barker!
  4. I can sympathize with you. When we got our last Pom baby she cried and barked constantly if she was allowed to. She sleeps is the office just down the hall from our bedroom with the other bitches but that was not good enough for her in the beginning. She is a very human dependent dog. I spent many sleepless nights hiding just out of her sight and when she would bark I would come out and chastise her and send her into her crate. I am glad i persevered though as she eventually learned to be quiet, after about 2 weeks. She still is the first to wake in the morning though (around 5am) but at least I now get some sleep. Complaining neighbours make it harder for you though. Try talking to them and explain what the problem is. Assure them that it is a short term thing.
  5. We use and recommend My Pets Vet at Bald Hills. Dr Rob is great with our Poms who are historically delicate. We have also had at not so good experience with another Vet in the area but won't mention any names.
  6. Thanks everyone for your input. I have decided to try the BARF diet as I hear so many good things about it. They had their first meal of the chicken flavoured patties last night and they scoffed it down. A good start for fussy Poms.
  7. Hi.....Could I please get some opinions on feeding Chicken Mince? Is is preferable to feed it raw or is lightly steamed ok? Am I treating my dogs too much like humans because I would rather feed it cooked? And what about Beef Mince? For some reason I am quite happy to feed Beef raw but not Chicken......
  8. Hi, Seeing that you live at Bald Hills and we live just next door at Bracken Ridge then we'd gladly show you how to groom your Pom. We have only been showing Poms for 8 months but have it pretty well down pat now The Pom breeder that we bought our first Pom from lives at Bald Hills too! (we now have 3 and counting ) We have used a professional groomer from the Southside who trims a lot of the Pom showdogs in SE QLD. We actually use some of the Animal House products with Coat Magic being great for grooming out a Pom. If you want to catch up and see our Poms and grooming then call us on 3261 9798 (we have a breeders prefix link on DOL of Pomquest) we are just around the corner on Bracken Ridge Rd. Cheers, Brett and Sandy. PS. This is our first ever post on DOL so don't know how we'll go
